Paula, you sure sound busy. Tell Adam to have a great time at his prom. Take one day at a time.

Boston? Have the clam chowder, they really know how to make great clam chowder up there.:)

Thanks Peter, I'll be sure to tell him. Everyone is meeting at our house--there is a benefit to renting the limo for them. LOL

You know I have never had clam chowder. I do love fried clams as long as there are no bellies attached. I do know there will be :cake: as we are celebrating my Nana's 90th birthday.

Tell Johnna and the girls we all say hello. :goodvibes

Our second cabin is my parents. Whilst we are CC members they are DCL virgins, so altho' theory says I can book them on Monday, we'll have to wait & see on the reality!

Celestine

Hopefully I'm wrong, but you may not be able to book your parents for excursions til the 75 day point. We are linked to our friend, and while we could (finally) get in to make reservations for Linda's cabin at the 105 days, it said that we couldn't make any reservations for my cabin or Betsy's until the 90 day mark. You should be able to add them onto a Palo reservation though, since you or your DH will be the lead name on the Palo ressie. Good luck with the bookings.

Hi Paula!

It sounds like your remodel is going well! That's good to hear. When do you finally get to take your vacation? Hilton Head, right? That should be nice and relaxing for you after all this.

Thanks again for working on the Mr. Emerald tour!:thumbsup2
We booked an excursion in Cartegena as a backup, but we're really hoping that he can come through for us all.

Hope you have a good time in Boston.

Mr Emerald did mention he would only have limited access to his business while he was away on vacation.

Paula, I signed up for his website a week or two ago and he has not gotten back to me yet. So I think that he is still on vacation. Definitely book something for Cartagena and hope we get something with him later.

I know he is on vacation, but we have been emailing since January. I think it was the addition of Baru that has delayed everything:confused:

I am excited about the remodel. I'll have to post some pictures next week of all the changes. The really fun part is that both stock rooms were emptied into PODS and that has sure made stocking everything a little challenging. Next week we will have to empty the other room and none of the candy can go out there. And I have all these shippers that keep coming that I ordered from the trade show.

We leave for HH on the 15th of June. I told all the contractors that was their deadline to get everything done--no checks to them could be written while I was gone. ;)

Well, off to work I go. You all have a wondertful day:goodvibes

Thanks for the support from you and everyone else today. It's been tense today as the police didn't serve her with a court summons until tonight. She didn't show up to school today and the admin said they tried to call both parents as no one called in to say she would be gone so it's an unexcused absence. Yet, she was out playing after school with the other kids. So far, no contact and the police told us they would tell her and her parents not to call or contact us. Before tonight, she has sent down her siblings and friends to try to get our son to call her or come talk to her. It was a tough thing to do and we questioned ourselves a lot, but hope this helps change her for the better.

I read your story and that is awful. You made the right choice - this girl sounds likea bit of a bully and there is only one way to deal with bullies.

I have been chatting back and forth with Desiree...You will have awesome tags fellow pirates!Wow Cheryl is pushy!:lmao:

Chrissie

Thanks, Chrissie

How about:

Pirates Through The Caribbean - DCL MAGIC - August 2008

Just an update, the Festival of Sail LA 2008 is now up. Not much is there yet but they say they will be adding info soon.

Hi

I have the same issue.. I have called Disney 3 times now mind you they have been wrong.. :goodvibes They advised me since my in laws are tied to my reservations that I should be able to book Palos' and Excursions on the 19th.. Lets see what happens............:)

See, y'all have something to compare this cruise to. I have only been on 1 mini DCL cruise (4 day) and so I don't notice what is missing.
It's kinda like the infamous birthday cake Cinderella's Castle. It was that way when I say it for the 1st time in person so I like it. Others hated it.

Was that the "Pepto-Bismol" Castle? :lmao: :lmao:

My experience: On our last cruise, we had no plans to spend much time with the DIS group except Palo brunch. I forgot about the sail-away meet so didn't meet anyone at all the first day. The next day, SWMBO and I were drinking at the bar and she noticed a group of women were doing a Christmas ornament exchange. I realized that must be the DIS group and we went over and introduced ourselves.

From that moment on, we ran into someone we knew every day. Every excursion we were on had someone from that group of people on it (even though we had not planned it that way).

And it turned out our pseudo-tablemates were also from the meet thread even though we didn't know that until the second night.

No one was wearing T-shirts or lanyards or pins, but we still found people from the meet thread. So put the stinky lime green T-S****s away after the first day.

That was such a fun cruise :thumbsup2 We really did enjoy meeting everyone.

Coral, part of it (from what I've read over the past few months) is that our area has always had very stable housing prices. They have never been inflated -- which is a huge part of the problem in some areas.

Same in Alaska.
{knock on laminated particle board wood-like surface}

Let's see...we could Embarq in Boston, whale watch off New Brunswick, hit Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara/Buffalo, Cleveland (excursion to M's childhood home), Cedar Point/Put-in-bay, Detroit, Mackinaw, Transit the Sault St Marie Locks and back.

250px-Soo_Locks-Sault-Ste_Marie.png

then hit Milwaukee and Chicago. Time it up right, could have excursions see baseball games in Boston, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee and Chicago (x 2).

and to top it off......Cabana Massages on the beach by Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant:thumbsup2 :

DisasterDavisBesse.jpg

No one needs to see my childhood home. You've all seen it in movies. 2-story center hall colonial. Walk in the front door, hallway ahead of you, living room to the left, dining room to the right, kitchen and family room at the back, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths upstairs. It is the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, 16 Candles, Father of the Bride house (at least that sort of floor plan).

Cleveland Excursion:

FudgeSaucev2.jpg

Best Hot Fudge ever - can't find pictures, but the shop is cool. Carnival theme and some of the tables are on a very slow moving carousel (like 1 revolution an hour)

West Side Market - sausage and perogies. Yum.

Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame_and_Museum.jpg

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - view Jim Morrison's Cub Scout uniform.

Edgewater Park

Put-in-Bay

Come on people - home of the world's longest bar & a candy shop that sells apple wedges, smeared with peanut butter, dipped in chocolate!

You will always remember this as the day you almost caught Palo.
- Captain Jack Sparrow

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that you can't get a Palo reservation or you can’t. But Palo is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day.
- Captain Jack Sparrow

TAKE WHATever Palo reservation YOU CAN!!

You guys are too funny

I still cannot get through that book. I LOVE to read, but that book is so detailed I cannot see the forest for the trees.

I cheated....I watched the DVD

Hey guys - jumped on to see if this connection was a bit faster. Just left Aruba. BYE!

Thanks for the updates!!!

Ala **Weekend At Bernies**

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I know I am behind, but I did the 10 question surey - I'm "Katherine Hepburn". :rotfl:

I'm Debbie Reynolds -

Another idea:idea: is we all meet at say 3:00 pm.above Scoops for a sail away gathering and find you and Chrissie there????? We need to have a spot to gather for the sea of black shirts anyway!!! Anyone else have suggestions on where to meet and greet fellow Disers????

I think 3PM is perfect. Everyone has a chance to lunch, check out their cabins and unpack (if your luggage arrives) and say "Hi" before the drill. Once the sailaway party starts it's really loud :dance3: :dance3:

:lmao: :lmao: Got my forever stamps last Saturday!!!

OK, what exactly are the "Forever Stamps"? I think I have some (with Flags, no price) from Christmas, but not sure :headache:

Don't forget, I'm doing a "test run" in just over three weeks. I'll be sure to warn them....I mean, talk to them....about our August trip. ;)

Shhhh, don't warn them. Can you see 3/4 of the staff putting in for a personal day because those crazy DIS people are coming

Shuttle starts running at 11 or 12.....

Only seats 16?? without 2 weeks luggage.....

We should reach out ahead of time to assure earlier, more frequent, etc.

Starts 11 or 12 :scared1: :scared1: . That won't due, now will it

I just read this in the mousesaver announcements- you might already know it but I didn't!
it's a small world (Disneyland) closed through 11/28/08 for refurbishment.

oh no.... how can this be? refurbishing this thru the summer months and for so long? My youngest DD just asked me LAST NIGHT if they have IASW and I told her ofcourse.
ack...............

Good morning all

Is it just me or is anyone else not inspired by the entertainment onboard the WB sailing?

Nothing listed has wowed me, either . . . but honestly there is so much to do on the ship as well as at the ports that it doesn't bother me that much.

I just read this in the mousesaver announcements- you might already know it but I didn't!

This is the infamous widening and deepening of the canals the boats sail through there . . . with the widening of the theme park attending public, the boats kept scraping the bottom and getting stuck:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: so it's a huge refurb.

When I left my apartment this morning, there was police warning tape all around, lots of police and police cars, etc. It turned out that there was a raccoon (a pretty big one) hanging out in the tree right in front of our building. Now some of you may see lots of raccoons, but this is the first time I have seen one on the Upper East Side. They eventually shot a tranquilizer into him and caught him in a net to take to animal control. I am hoping they will release him somewhere out of the city rather than euthanize him -- he was pretty darn cute. I took some pictures but don't know if they turned out. If so, I will try to post a few later.:goodvibes
