Stressing over what I was going to wear to the 7th grade dance & if any boy was going to ask me to dance once I got there.

Trying to figure out how to make my hair bigger.

Staring at a Duran Duran poster on the wall next to my bed.

M, Please try to refrain from screaming...

Rehearsing for an ice show. Think Christopher Bowman would be interested in a 7th grade dance?

Again, please refrain from excessive swooning... and just in case have your cell phone handy to dial 9-11 in case you get dizzy....

Especially since I'm talking to myself.....:confused3

Okay.....confession time....before the young gals on our cruise get too excited......No Mario Lopez. The "high" source was me. I might have been that way when I came up with that silly joke.

now, why would you want to do something constructive for? it's almost the weekend! that's the excuse i'm using to surf the dis...i want to be lazy! i should be getting ready for my dentist appt though...unfortunately i have to go get a filling in less than a half hour! yuck!

did they upgrade you? or did you end up paying for the upgrade?

It was a free upgrade. They lowered the Cat 12 prices last year so tons of us jumped in on it. I'd say at least 30 cabins on my meet thread. So obviously most were going to get upgraded. I think maybe 1 group got left in a Cat 12, some got 11's, more got 10's and a fair number (like us) got 9's. I had originally booked an 11, but saved almost $2k when they offered the reduced rates. I would have been happy just getting back to an 11, but was thrilled with the 9. And since my mom ended up cruising with me, it was perfect. She doesn't like inside cabins.

Was just browsing my reservation and saw something interesting. It says that DS is eligible for the Lab 8-12yr olds. Doesn't say anything about the Quest.

Also, the Wish List is still messed up. It still has my Med Wish List even though I removed all those last week and added a few for this cruise.

Repeat after me "Hassle Free Booking Date"

Didn't actually believe it. But it gave me a nice little daydream for a while. :lovestruc

Good Morning Pirates :surfweb:

The prices coming up for this cruise are pretty steep. Hopefully too steep for everyone's blood to book and all the GTY's get upgrades :dance3: :dance3:

I don't know - this morning th 5,6,7's are gone. Only 9 & 10 left.

Isn't this like the 5th time he (Joey Fatone) is the celebrity cruiser on DCL??? Have they mentioned if Ducky Willians is on their cruise?

Maybe he likes crusing :-) I don't think I've ever seen him - is he any good?

Ok, can someone help? I can't find it, but I remember a review of a Cartagena tour. It said to avoid the dungeons. Anyone know where it is? Checked the planning board and didn't see it. I'm trying to figure out what I want as my back up if we don't get the DIS Tour.

never mind - found it

Relative to Mr. Emerald--my parents' travel companion on a February Princess Panama Canal cruise booked a private driver/tour guide for the day through Mr. Emerald. They were very happy with their experience, the tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable, and said that Mr. Emerald is a reputable merchant. He came and met them at the ship before sending them off with their tour guide because he had been corresponding for so long with my parents' friend, but I don't know whether that is typical. If anyone has any specific questions send me a message and I will be happy to ask them.

As I posted on the other Cartagena thread, they weren't expecting much but my parents really enjoyed Cartagena, and we are now really looking forward to it. It sounds like the city is definitely worth experiencing versus just going to the beach. They felt that all of the DCL excursions were a good exposure to the big attractions, but they did recommend that groups with children avoid the palace of the inquisition, or just keep the kids outside for that portion of the tour (I think that only one of the DCL excursions goes there).

Had to investigate as to WHO this mario Lopez fellow was....

mario_lopez_01.jpg

Lopez's professional career began in 1985 when he appeared as younger brother Tomás in the short-lived ABC comedy series a.k.a. Pablo. In that same year, he was cast as a drummer and dancer on Kids Incorporated. Mario is a capable drummer and has been seen in his many television roles playing the instrument. In 1989, Lopez was cast as A.C. Slater in the popular television sitcom Saved by the Bell, a role which lasted five years. Lopez's character was a masculine, athletic student, helping to garner the actor a sizeable teenage-girl fan base. He maintains a close friendship with fellow castmate Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Since his stint on Saved by the Bell, Lopez has enjoyed a career as host of a variety of television contest shows. He hosted Pet Star on the Animal Planet channel and was co-host of ESPN2's ESPN Hollywood. He is the captain of the L.A. Armed Response team on GSN's Extreme Dodgeball. Like fellow Saved by the Bell actor Dustin Diamond, he was featured as a celebrity guest on The Weakest Link.

On USA Network's Pacific Blue, he played police officer Bobby Cruz. Lopez also served as the host of the syndicated series Name Your Adventure. He also starred as the Olympic diving champion Greg Louganis in Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story.

He emceed the second season of the Family Channel game show Masters of the Maze.

He was also one of the co-hosts of the syndicated talk show The Other Half, which aired from 2001-2003. It was a male version of the female ensemble talk show The View, featuring four male co-hosts, including Danny Bonaduce and executive producer, Dick Clark.

As late as 2001, Lopez' likeness was featured in the Disneyland attraction Space Mountain in Anaheim. He played a space captain that informed guests of the adventure-to-come while they waited in queue for the ride.

In March 2006, he joined the cast of the daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful playing the role of Dr. Christian Ramirez. On July 18, 2006, Lopez was released from his B&B contract. He guest-starred as a plastic surgeon who drives Christian Troy to jealousy when he sees him naked in the shower in an episode of FX Network's Nip/Tuck during the show's fourth season, which began in Fall 2006.

In the fall of 2006, Lopez appeared as a celebrity contestant for the third season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, partnered with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, who made her series debut. Lopez's strong start in the program left some viewers wondering whether he had received dance training prior to joining the series. Initially, he said that he had not received any formal training, but he later revealed that, though he hasn't had formal ballroom training, he has studied tap and hip hop styles. He finished second to Emmitt Smith.

He was announced as a celebrity guest host for the syndicated entertainment news magazine show Extra on January 12, 2006. His first assignment was covering the Golden Globes.

Lopez was scheduled to be color commentator for the first EliteXC mixed martial arts event alongside pro-wrestler Bill Goldberg, but was inexplicably replaced at the last minute.

Lopez is both the host with Carmen Palumbo and co-executive producer of Sí TV's Dating Factory.

On March 12, 2007, Lopez auditioned in a not-for-air episode of The Price is Right to take over for the retiring Bob Barker.[1]

Lopez has hosted primetime television pageants; Miss Teen USA in 1998, 2003 and August 2007; Miss America in January 2007; and Miss Universe in May 2007, giving him the distinction of being the only individual to have served in hosting capacity for both of the major pageant system organizations.

Lopez is currently hosting the MTV reality show America's Best Dance Crew.

On April 15, 2008, Lopez took on the role of Zach in Broadway's A Chorus Line.[citation needed]

Lopez was featured in the third season of Mind of Mencia.

After appearing on Nip/Tuck the nude shots from the shower appeared on the internet.

In 2007, Lopez— became an official supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities and is a member of their celebrity board, called the Friends of RMHC.[2]

What was that I saw a while back about a Zip Line in Ohio...in the Hocking Hills area?? Maybe we should make that part of the wedding fun!!

We leave two weeks from today for the wedding. Home for 3 days and then to CA for the cruise. I guess I should get off here and DO something constructive, huh??

Stace.....if you get a chance, try some Graeter's ice Cream and Donato's pizza while you are here. They are both local chains, but really good!

I read somewhere that the DCL Bus isn't picking up until 12 / 12:10 / 12:20 at the DL Hotel, Paradise, and Grand Californian.

The Pirate buses will be at the Port well before that. :goodvibes

Tradeoff being that, according to the planner, people on the pre-stay at those hotels will be able to do cruise check-in at the hotels. So no long lines at the port....

raccooons aren't allowed in your city?

I was thinking the same theng.......... Outlawing wild life.... :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

If they put police tape up for all the racoons around here I would never get out of our town.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I guess I am not a "city" girl, not a country girl either, more of a suburban girl...well not a girl either:laughing: more like a "mature" woman.

I have this picture in my head of this poor racoon with all the police cars and sirens thinking "why did I leave the park?"

Julie lives in NYC - I am sure the racoon will be happier somewhere else that has more wooded areas.

As Jo said, I'm sure the raccoon was being removed for its own protection . . . the most amazing thing is to think that he or she had to come into Manhattan via either a tunnel or a bridge (there aren't any that live in the parks in Manhattan). Of course, a few years ago I remember that a wolf was running around in Central Park and had to have made it in that way as well.

I just read this in the mousesaver announcements- you might already know it but I didn't!

oh no.... how can this be? refurbishing this thru the summer months and for so long? My youngest DD just asked me LAST NIGHT if they have IASW and I told her ofcourse.
ack...............

It is closed for that long..it needed a MAJOR refab. After the holidays..they didn't reopen it. The good news..DCA will have Toy Story Mania which is a new ride opening in June!
