There have been a few isolated posts about info/books/etc. on the Panama Canal (oh and Pamela, that book that someone posted for kids, we have it, its pretty good), so after watching Arlene's video of the Magic departing, I searched youtube for videos about TPC construction/history and have linked a BUNCH of them on the website
Made it home safely from WDW , had a great time ....Arlene the pics and the Video look great , Sorry we couldnt make the meeting over at SSR we had dinner reservations over at Prime Time in Hollywood Studios ..Oh and by the way , they had a AP preview of the new Toy Story Mania ride , we rode it twice and it was great ...Much better then Buzz ride ...we had already packed the camera or we would have photos , but I am sure it will be the same in California so when it opens go ride it ...Your arm will get tired too ..LOL

Disney Visa Rewards
I'm sure I'm not the first person to think about this, but I haven't seen it posted, so I thought I'd mention it. If your Disney Rewards Visa statement closing date is during TOAL you may want to try this...
My statement closing date is the 28th of the month. So on Aug. 27, I'm going to march down to GS and settle my account (so far). Then, if we get close enough for phone coverage the night before we pull in to FL, I'll call and transfer the new reward dollars to my rewards card & use them for the rest of my bill. If I don't get them transferred while we are onboard, I'll do it when we get off the ship & we'll use them for food and whatnot at MK later that day.
We can all tell the phone reps that Arlene says "Hi"

I gave myself a headache last night making my packing lists (about time!) for the wedding and the June cruise.![]()
You know what? I'm actually afraid to make a list! I don't think I even want to know how much carp I'm going to need for this cruise!![]()
Me too! I usually have a list made really early, but I have been procrastinating this one.... Does anyone who has already made a list want to share? I'm sure we would need to personalize it, but it might be less daunting a task if there was a list to start from.
Pamela
I got some nice shots of the Magic. We got there at 4:30 and she blew her horn at 4:45. didn't as she sailed past usI spoke to Laura while the ship started out and she told me she and Steve were wearing Green and on the 10th deck by the basketball cts. Well if you look reallly closely, you can see 2 figures in green and 1 has the camera fixed to her face
We then drove out to the beach to catch her sailing out to sea. If the video comes out ok, I will post the youtube link. Enjoy.BYW, the timestamp is an hour behind

The port was crazy with small boats trying to get out of the water. There had to be over 30 waiting. The Coast Guard came thru blowing their siren to get them to move over. I don't know. If I saw a very very large ship heading straight for me, I wouldn't need a siren..............

We were talking about the outsourcing at work one day and someone brought up a good question. These people who aren't citizens have access to all our personal info, banking info etc.....They wanted to know why this isn't a breach of security and why Homeland Security allows this? Who is to say they wouldn't sell this to the highest bidder in a heartbeat? I really don't like speaking to any outsourced customer service and always ask if they have a transfer option back to the states. Any one have an answer![]()
you can always book on Sunday and cancel if you like the Mr. E. trip as details come together.
I finally got the video uploaded to youtube. Turned out the firewire was still connected to my old computer and wasted around 2 hrs trying to get the darn thing to work on my new one.![]()
It was very noisy at the park. Kids running all over and DH asking the occasional question, there was lots of editing. I do stand corrected when I said the Magic didn't sound the horn again. It did. I'm off to sleep as I do havetomorrow. With all the time I needed off for this trip, the personal time requests were pretty much turned down. I don't like the quality of the video on the web. Trying more options. If it comes out better I will switch it.

Thanks the pics and the video!
I showed my family the cams as she was heading out to sea. Mine went a little better but not much.
Me: There she goes!!!
DD: Cool!![]()
Me: Can you believe it..we will be on her in 3 months!
DD: Wait.. is this live?![]()
Me: Yes...see all the people?
DD: (silence)
Me: I asked..don't you..(as I turn around)....
DD has left the room and I am talking to myself!

G'mornin's
Would you believe I slept in today?? Wow! I don't remember the last time I did that. My boys brought me 'breakfast' in bed (I use that term loosly, but they tried).
That is very sweet!![]()
I love love love Baja California Mexican food, but your right, it is very different from Tex-Mex. I know the logic behind your statement. I just thought it was funny that you are packing chips and salsa for a Mexican cruise.
Yeah your right BC salsa is less soupy than Tex-Mex. Diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc. Our favorite Baja place in San Diego had a great salsa bar and they just threw a stack of corn and flour tortillas (not fried chips) in the middle of the table. They also served peel and eat grilled shrimp and longastinos in buckets. MMmmmm. Have I mentioned that I love Baja Mexican food???
That would have been close to my guess.
Who else is looking forward to midnight next week???
I just mentioned to DH at dinner Friday night that I really need to get our lists together. I'll be working on it this week and putting it into an excel spreadsheet. I can post it on the planning board once I get it done if anyone is interested.
What day do they go thru the PC??? Anyone know??? I do hope it is not a day I work. It is so hard to hide the fact I am on the web.![]()
He said they do have guacamole but, I personally hate avacados.![]()
Doesn't looks so bad to me!Last one.............. I am starting to sound like Crash.Saw this thread on the WB. Made me think of us all trying to pack those bags.
