Not to be a downer but I received a sad letter in the mail.
Those who were around last summer remember my friend that shot her whole family and then killed herself. I got a letter from her Mother today. She said she could not bring herself to sending out Christmas cards due to the circumstances. She said that Andrea had just started taking Zoloft and they think she just had a bad reaction. (I'd say!)
Her mother also said in this whole time Michael's (Andrea's DH) family had never said one word to them. Now I understand the anger at her daughter from the husbands family but Andrea and Michael had been together for 25 years and married 20. If her closest friends did not relaize anything was wrong, I would think her own in-laws would know there had to have been something that was seriously wrong w/ Andrea.
I am sure it is too much for his family to get over but I cannot imagine what they have to benefit from not understanding they all are victims. This has aged her so much it is very sad.
I just wish there was some way I could comfort her Mom.

Prayers to everyone involved. Forgiveness is so very difficult sometimes, but so very important. I hope her mother can heal and go on (I can't even imagine her pain.) I also hope that Michael's family can forgive...

Since we've had a lot of new pirates join the family, and several of us old pirates have short attention spans, here's a reminder. You should try to reach out to her and say something . . . of course it can't make it all better, but so many times we don't say anything because we aren't sure how to do it, and in my experience sending out some love to the person is better than doing nothing . . .

Definitely reach out to her, write her a letter, give her a call, send her some flowers. Let her know you're thinking of her and that at least you care.

Yeah. I think I will send her a card and letting her know she has support from her DD's friends.
She wrote asking for prayers because they had a major task in front of them.
The house has been in legal limbo for almost a year and soon both families were going to have to go through the house and sort out belongings. That will be a difficult process to begin with but made worse with the animosity of Michael's family.

This kitty, Sprinkles is downright aunry. The Vet says she was not properly socialized when she was young. we got her from the Humane society. Life sure has been pretty good since so she should be a little grateful. One should not have to fear getting attacked walking around a random corner in their own dang house!
The bad thing is the new stray cat we adopted is just sweet and precious. Sprinkles main goal in life is to get that cat out of "her" house.

Toby delivered. It took 14 months but he delivered all the buttons, frock coat and waist coat, belt with buckle, baldrick with buckles and neclace. Sewed on the buttons and it they look really cool. Thanks for all you r help in this.

Are you also going to The Great American Scrapbook Convention that weekend???? I know a group used to also hold retreats at American Airlines training center.........

If you are going to GASC I could arrange to be there one of the days.... If you want.... It is about 15 mins from my house........

My SIL is in charge so I am not sure. It is a retreat and she said it is somewhere in Ft. Worth. If it is close by the Great American Srapbook Convention I am sure we will fit that in somehow. I haven't a clue she just told me to send her my money and she would take care of the rest. With my SIL I don't ask questions, too dangerous...I always end up in trouble with the rest of the family if I question too much. So I just mind my own business and follow the crowd.

I remember that tragedy. It is always hard when we can't *do* somethig to make things better for someone we know.

I had never heard of Zoloft having that type of reaction -- I know other similar drugs have had that type of reaction.

Zoloft *saved* me about 12yrs ago. I was on it for 2 yrs.

Sounds good to me! We went to Texas and just loved it. We stayed at a Dude Ranch. It was a blast!!!!!

But, it is a little far away to just pop on by. Darn it...those Margaritas looked FANTASTIC!!

That sounds like lots of fun! I bet the kids had a blast!
