Just because we seem to have an expert and a been there done that for everything...I have a Disney Visa question...

How does transfering the balance from Disney Visa to another card effect the 0% interest on the cruise balance?

For instance and for the sake of round numbers -

I have $5,000 in a 0% interest pocket until Sept. (cruise PIF)
I'm about to Visa roughly $100,000 for summer day care (OK not really, but it seems like it!)

Since Disney is my highest interest card, I want to transfer the day care balance to another card while I wait for my Dep Savings Account reimbursement checks to roll in. {Side note: sucks I have to pay for summer camp all at once in May, but can only get my money back that I put into the stupid account one month at a time}

So if I transfer the $100K :) interest-bearing balance to another card, does my $5K 0% still stay there?

I know this is how it works if you make a regular payment - just not sure about balance transfer.

Arlene? Anyone else?

But that's cool that you can pay on interest first and keep the 0%...my card doesn't do that

i see..nobody freakin flag..is flying higher..than stacy? :yay:

...now all she has to do...is add..a pocket or 2?

If they had a 'pocket", they'd be tightie whities!

..mental health...is your friend! :thumbsup2

Some people call me crazy. But my doctors say it's called Emotionally Unstable and Hormonally Deprived. See? I'm not crazy.

Do you know you are one post off, 3,000?

Hadn't a clue. I seldom look for those numbers.

Awww shoot...

DOes this mean I have ta google another 3000th image again?

Those things are sooooo hard to find.

Sara, could you take your time about the 3000th posting please?

Ya know, you *could* just skip posting an image. I know that goes against the grain, but it might be nice to make a change.

I like the idea of a "group" one. If there are too many, it would be too much for anyone to read.
But I also think that any of us who'd like to do their own obviously can. I think I'll just "journal" it on the computer for myself and my family, but I'd love to be able to add to a group one.

I usually journal during the trip on the computer and then refine it for a trip report.

The price of letting us know how to solve the time line conflict is 2 Mickey bars, and a Palo afternoon ressie, We can hack in anywhere! We might, just might go to three mickey bars and a real fortune cookie, if it doesn't involve Jack being buried alive for a century, he doesn't like that.

Now Rose, oh, Rose, why oh why do you keep 'flashing' up on the new Doctor Who series, we had a quick flash, on Saturday night, maybe, she has been on another programme? Maybe shes pregnant ?

Pregnant?

Hey!!! I'm INNOCENT!

You just remember that!

Now about the Mickey Bars and such, I'd like to be generous and kind to our neighbors so I'd like to donate them to a charitable group of your choice. I just remain anxious to serve our planet through Torchwood - or if the Doctor still has a vacancy with travel companion - well - I may be available. I suspect I still have decent credentials.

If it helps any I might be able to dredge up those winning Lotto numbers too...

and while I'm at it may I offer belated but sincere Happy Birthday wishes to Sarah:

Dang it!! I keep checking the ones by my house and by work - no such luck!!
I even looked again today.... Guess I'll still keep lookin..

Penny

Keep looking Penny. The CA stores do carry them. I've seen them at my local 2. So don't give up hope. Also, at one store, they were not with all the health and beauty stuff, they were actually on the baby aisle. So be sure to check all around.

Sunday is our daughter Jordan's 18th birthday.....she has forbidden any talk of Mother's Day for the entire day. I guess it doesn't matter to her that I had just a little to do with her being here in the first place. :sad1:

Anyway.....dinner reservations and a party after. I'll just pretend it's all for me. ;)

That's what I would do! ;)

May I exercise the rare privilage of being the first to offer congrats to you on your 3000th contribution to the community Sara!

I'm still not quite caught up -but I am getting closer! :thumbsup2

THANK YOU to all who remembered Darrah's bday! If I hadn't gotten so far behind I would have seen these before I posted yesterday  :guilty:

We celebrated May Day in the Kindergarten yard yesterday. I thought you might enjoy a few pictures. Particularly those still suffering with sn*w. There aren't so many places where you can see these old traditions.

MayPole-sm.jpg

How totally cool! We don't have anything around here for May Day. Since it is DS's birthday, we have always watched for any local events - nada. A couple years ago we did a May pole at his bday party - that year his actual birthday fell on the weekend. (It is also Lei Day in Hawaii)

Boy, so many activities...and thankfully, lots of Sea Days.

We have sea days on

Mon 18th
Thurs 21st
Half sea day in Acapuclo on Fri. 22nd.
Sat 23rd
Sun 24th
Wed 27th
Fri 28th
Sat 29th

Here is a condensed version of planned activities:

Hawaiian Shirt Day
Wenches Brunch
Wenches Tea
Mickey Bar eating contest
Grown Up Princesses
PJ Breakfast
Wine and Cheese Social
Secret Mickey Big Reveal
Scrapbook Swap
Wine Tasting
Beer Tasting
Tequila Tasting
Martini Tasting

So, to organize what could go with what...

We could do Scrapbooking in our PJs
Wine and Cheese while dressed up as Princesses...

Just a note that the Grown-up princesses won't get a date set until we know which nights are which. It needs to be a formal night! Probably the 2nd one (at least I think that is what most suggested way back when we first talked about it)

Arrrrgghh!!!! Which pirate: was in charge of checking the Birthday Calendar?

THANK YOU again! (I'll probably be doing more thank you's later :rotfl: )

Does anyone have a spreadsheet or something you'd be willing to share? I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep track of my activities. And why reinvent the wheel when I'm sure all of you OCDers have something already.

I do a spreadsheet for every cruise - but I've been holding off until we know the different theme nights and such. Unless someone else has already posted something, I'll post mine when it is done.

I am off to the grocery store. I am going to actually try to buy food to eat at home this week. I am so tired of buying and throwing away bags full of expired food every week. I have great intentions but then Bill will say "Let's just go get something" and off we go.
We eat out almost every day. Unhealthy and expensive.
I have had everyones buy in so wish me luck.
In the interest of full disclosure, I hate cooking and cleaning up and the kids do not like most of what I cook but going to try it anyway.

We were eating out all the time for a while and we "broke the habit" by agreeing to cook and eat in a few days per week. I think we started with 2 and then worked up to more. Trying to break a habit like that "cold turkey" could be pretty tough! One thing that really helped us was a cookbook called "Desperation Dinners" - easy to make, we have liked most of the things we have tried and don't take a ton of different ingredients.

Anyone else have their own snorkel gear? Are you just bring the mask and snorkel or the fins as well?

We have brought just masks and snorkels on 3 cruises. We have never had trouble renting/using just the fins on excursions or at Castaway Cay. Not packing the fins really helps.

That's what I have as of now - not accurate on the count though!!

We are 3 - 2 adults, 1 kid. Thanks to all who are working on this - it is a wonderful idea!

BTW -
Talking about books for kids - have any of you read the Piers Anthony "Xanth" series? Fantasy - they've been around for awhile - I ended up reading them too!!!

Also, "The Dragon Riders of Pern" series - can't remember the author at the moment.

My kids and grandkids and I all enjoy the same books!!

Who says these are books for kids? These are some of my favorites! Do kids "get" all the crazy Xanthian puns? The Dragon Riders of Pern books are by Anne McCafferey.

---

OK - enough multiquoting for now! I need to leave work and head for home. Hopefully, I'll have some time later to finish working on "ketchup".

OMG!

I've had these Dorrito and Brownie cravings ALL MY LIFE!

Seriously....

Does this mean it's just a matter of time before I get photographed by the police?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know. You could call and ask. Then call and ask again to confirm....

Yeah, that's why I though I'd ask here first. I was hoping someone else had done it.

But that's cool that you can pay on interest first and keep the 0%...my card doesn't do that

That is cool. What's cooler is that my Disney rewards are paying for all my tips and then some on TOAL. We charge everything and never carry a balance, so it's free Mickey Money.

This is why I really want to charge summer camp to my Disney Visa.

Just a note that the Grown-up princesses won't get a date set until we know which nights are which. It needs to be a formal night! Probably the 2nd one (at least I think that is what most suggested way back when we first talked about it)

I vote for the 2nd formal night.

I love meal assembly places. Super Suppers and Let's Dish are 2 big franchises. I go to a locally owned one. 2 hours of 'cooking' in a commercial kitchen with a glass of wine and friend or 2 and I have 12 meals that serve 6 (so more like 1 1/2 dinners each for us) to put in my freezer. I did a pretty thorough financial analysis the first several months I went and if I added groceries + dining out, we are spending way less money this way and the meals are great.

I would be really, really careful with this... I find that anything except payments goes against the cruise balance. E.g., but 2 of something at Home Depot or Lowes, then return one a day laters, the full charge is on current charges for month but the return goes against cruise balance.....

Have a nice evening everyone.... off for my long - yucky - traffic congested ride home. blach!

Well, for me it's Mother's Day and my birthday. Haven't a clue what is happening at this point.

Have they told you that they at least HAVE it all? I'm with you, I want to SEE it for myself.

We got word that they got all the Moms' excursions set for us. :yay: But I haven't tried to look online yet. Will need to do that so I can share it with the other Moms.

Glad it worked out for you! :)

We have one here called Dream Dinners..went the other night. I love that place!

I've never tried one of those. I'm not much of a cook and mostly do stuff that can be cooked in a single skillet. I need recipes and I follow them to the letter! The idea of cooking in public scares me to death :rotfl2:

I actually though about looking into buying a franchise with my forced change of career. But there's already one in my town. I guess I could lookin into setting up one a few towns over. Maybe I ought to buy a few weeks worth of dinners first to determine if it's even something I could invest in.

Oh Chris :rolleyes1 how about this along with our other potential ventures???

Gosh - I rarely eat out - when I do its so I can check out the lastest culinary innovations - so I can attempt to replicate them at home.
Well - my Dad was a chef and after he retired he'd come over and we'd cook together - I still love to cook!!! I only indulge my "creative" menus on weekends or special occasions!!

Monica - you might have something there - I know I'm in the minority about thinking cooking is fun!!! I was asked once if I'd consider being a personal chef for some folks - it was just after I gave up my catering business.
