Real question coming...

If you were to ask for Disney dollars or something along the line from family/friends etc for the trip. What would you request?

We have 2 B-days coming up before the trip and our 15th Anniversary is a few weeks before the trip. And I don't need anything, so on board credits or Disney dollar or something would be great. But I am not sure how to request it...

I assume you mean how do you tell your family? Do they ask you what you would like for your birthday/anniversary? If not..I would just call them/tell them that usually you are happy with whatever you get for your special day but that this year - you have a special request - you would like onboard credit/disney dollars for your day. Be ready to offer them the phone numbers to obtain the credit. Or ask for a check/cash to buy it your self.

My sister's birthday is the day we sail so I have already told her I am buying her onboard credit for her gift and my Mom is giving her cash for the ports.

hope this helps!

I hate to fly, so if there is ANY way to go non stop, we do it. Thus, many trips to O'hare (about an hour and 30 minutes from us). With a grumbling husband as he says I am insane...Come on, with all the kids...switching planes, BAD IDEA. Right? It has nothing to do with my phobia...I swear!

Don't feel bad..I hate to fly and my Mom and sis don't either...when we go to WDW..we drive..and we will be driving back in September!

My DH..he has to get back to work and loves to fly...he will be flying home...we rented a car! Hey..my DD gets to see the US (that's what I keep telling myself!)

Do you know I have just received a cheeky e-mail form someone as follows:-

"As you know we are going on a 15 night Disney repositioning cruise this summer from August 17 - September 1. We would greatly appreciate gifts of either Moet & Chandon champagne –Dom Perignon $185, (I can’t stand the cheap stuff) or onboard credit to our account for our 2008/2009/2010 birthdays.

That's just uncalled for, Andrew.

I say that you ignore that request.

Instead, you can send me Asti Spumante. I don't mind the cheap stuff! :rotfl2:

Well done on being so organised Tina.

Has anyone tried to put things in on their 'wish list' on the DCL site since the change to scuba Mickey? I keep bouncing back out to a 404 internal server error.

If you put excursions on the "wish list" - are they easier to book? I've never booked online before, so any tips greatly appreciated.

Spent a fair amount of time yesterday printing off excursions, so DH, DS and DD can have a look and some input.

If it save money, I will think about it:thumbsup2

It does save time, as you go onto the shore trips, ALL of them will be shown, you can then CUT that down by sellecting ones on your WISH LIST only.(Other options are by PORT TYPE etc).

Giving the problems everyone has reported I suggest it, it ends up with a panic most times and you need a prompt to ensure you book what you want, but I cannot get into it at this time.

I have tried for a couple of weeks and when I hit the "Add to Wish List" icon, I get the famous 404 error. <sigh>

So, I've written everything down to make the selection process go a little smoother for me.

I know we'll all be flexing our fingers in less than a month now to get our reservations when they open. That ought to be a "fun" day!

Or NIGHT.

I hope it goes well for everyone here on this thread, lets cross our fingers, the ''Wish list'' does help, if you can get into it, hasn't worked since the last upgrade. The Wish list basically narrows down the available trips to just the ones you want to do. Save you looking through days and days of stuff on trips you do not wish to do.

Wow, I am glad I asked, more great ideas! I really love this board! :)

Hi Celestine!:wave2:

My DD, Megan, is looking forward to seeing your girls again.

We haven't done the makeover at either place, but we've stood and watched. Both are really great, though Libby Lui seems to have more themes, like rockstar, etc. Princess Fantasy Faire is just princess. PFF is a bit more expensive and the lines get long. I believe LL takes reservations. They are located in Downtown Disney and it is only about a five minute walk from the gates of DL/DCA.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Not intentionally being rude by not replying, but just got back from a weekend in Hastings. It was our bargain break from The Sun newspaper £38 ($80) for 3 nights at a Haven park which is a mobile home park with onsite entertainment, bar, arcade, pool etc - good fun but I'm not sure I could handle a week of Rory the Tiger, Greedy the Gorilla & Anxious the Elephant in their nightly shows (Disney has nothing to be worried about!)

Celestine

We've got to get together! We probably know at least a few of the same people! I worked with Dean for about a year.... very funny guy, good heart.
My only hope is that they do good by the kids & families... the new regime seems to forget that they are working with ACTIVE KIDS & they only seem to be constantly "writing up" kids for dumb stuff. Hopefully when they hire the new director thing will work out. I know it's not my prob anymore.... but I worry.
~Penny

Definately have to get together :thumbsup2 .

How is Rory the Tiger, nowadays???

Didnt think you were a 'Sun' type of reader, ( or are they called viewers?)

Wow..DH needs to go from MCO to LAX - we couldn't find that on United - we did okay in the end tho..found Delta for 159.00 non-stop from MCO to LAX on the 3rd tho (a couple of days of fun at WDW)

Kicking myself though...few months ago - found American (of course - that's kind of scary at the moment) for 179.00 for a non-stop at 1 p.m. - went back and it's 498.00! :scared1:

Have a great Sunday!

Desiree

That American is the one we got. I have watched it go up and down but still hasn't gone below what we paid for it.

Yesterday I took our recyclables in for redemption. I had enough plastic to fill a 55 gallon trash can at the turn in station... plus a couple of dozen cans (we don't drink much soft drinks) ... and I had 3 glass bottles. Wanna guess what all that (mostly plastic water and juice bottles) came to in dollars?.....

$5.35
I see folks bringing in bags and bags and bags of this stuff ... and they don't look like regular folks like me bringing their own discards - but they're bringing in stuff collected from public places. And I figure they're turning in no more than $20 or $30 in stuff. It's bewildering ... but good as all that stuff would have been trash somewhere else most likely. We need greater incentives to recycle - perhaps we should increase the fees/benefit of recycling, eh?

That's $5.35 more than we get! That said, ours is collected every other week along with our usual trash.

Been so busy the past 2 days, so I just went back a few pages to read. If I missed anything important please let me know:confused3

But the SW 770 good to 33ft (actually 61ft tested by divers) is still going for $249 at Amazon. I think it is almost time to pick this up. ;)
That's what I paid for the 770 on Amazon. I couldn't find it in any of the stores.

My 9 month old kitty was sitting in one of our windows this morning as we finally get to have them open   :dance3: :dance3: and the screen gave way and she feel outside! Luckily it was only about 8 feet and on to grass, so she is just fine. But it freaked us all out! So now we have to close the windows...:(

When we lived in our apartment, Snuggles loved to lay on the balcony (2nd floor) one day he fell off.................realized it didn't hurt so he just started jumping off. That put an end to him getting to enjoy the day out there.:)

Worried about one of our cats (Tammy)that loves to sit on the window sill when the window is open. I keep warning DH that the screen wasn't meant to take a lot of weight, but he so misses Reebok who used to do the same thing. He insists that the screen is strong enough. Is there anything out there that I can use to secure the screen:confused3 Tammy is so used to being allowed to sit on the window sill she gets very vocal about demanding the window open now:rolleyes:

My Mom has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. Well after my being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, she finally agreed to go for a mammogram in Feb. (her last one was 20 years ago) Well, she now knows that she has breast cancer too and needs surgery. It is like dealing with a stinky teen, she is so irrational:mad: She keeps changing her mind about what kind of treatment she wants:headache: I can't keep up with her mood changes and irrational questions. She often ignores my advice.

Anyway, people please make sure that the women in your life get their mammograms. Catching breast cancer early makes the treatment so much easier. Here's a bit of trivia-about 70% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history. My Mom was convinced she didn't need mammograms because there was no family history and because she did self exams. Obviously she was wrong. I had been nagging her for years to get her mammograms. It really makes me mad that it took my being diagnosed for her to finally get one:headache: End of sermon:rolleyes:

Mike, Andrew is such a wine snob he's probably never heard of Asti Spumonti . . . thinks he's slumming with a nice prosecco . . .:rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about your mother, Laurie . . . thank goodness you were able to get her to a mammogram, though.

Consumer Reports has done several studies on wines and always make of point of showing that several cheaper wines beat out more expensive ones:thumbsup2

Doctor has said that she will not die from breast cancer, so they did catch it in time:) She's just not good at being a patient:rolleyes: Makes me really glad I waited until after my treatment to tell her- she would have made my life miserable last year trying to help me:scared: As it was it took her almost 6 months to get her mammogram after I finally told her.

My mom is the same way. That is why we don't tell her when we have medical issues. She has TOO many friends with medical advice which is always the opposite of what we are doing. What she doesn't know won't kill me...:lmao:

Thanks, Andrew. I'll give it a go once we decide which ones we're doing.
