Thanks. :thumbsup2 That was the intent of creating them. :thumbsup2 Another member of our thread, Ed Martin did all the work and most of the ideaing. :worship: :worship:

Every so often we try to give updates of what's there, to save checking back and forth:

I think the website is great! So organized and informative. :thumbsup2

And Tom thanks for posting the thread topics every once in a while. It serves as a good reminder to check in.

Thank you to Ed as well!

I'll look for it later tonite... the kids have to be put to bed now so I gotta wander off for a bit. The last couple of nites I've been naughty and stayed up - so I'm wacked tonite and may just slip into blissful slumber without warning.

So - on another quick note - Kayak suggested we had low airfares from MCO into LAX... as low as $170 on Sept 2nd... or $180 on the 1st with our preferred airline - United. Which has us ready to book ... either tonite or tomorrow.

And on another note - I bought a sled kit with all the wood cut to shape and ready for assemblyand finishing. What a deal for me an' the kids to assemble for next winters' sledding.

AND... today I got a cool shiney denim Guess jacket. Alicia has not seen it yet - but its' MY gift to myself (of a sort) since it was on sale. Since it's raining I'll not go outside to get it and show Alicia yet -

And may I ask if the links I posted for you on the special warrenty repair possibility for your notebook.... did that help you at all? Or the screen replacent info? Did ya even SEE it? :confused3

OK.... gotta go fir a bit now.... tend to our nite owl kids...

I haven't done much with the laptop. I checked on the free fix link you provided but my model wasn't included. And I talked to a few shops around here and no one will take on the job of replacing the backlight. They say it's too time consuming and often times ruins the screen housing so they won't do it anymore. My other choice is to replace the whole screen but at that point I might as well just hunt down a good deal on a new one.

Great offers Monica ! Enjoy I see we have something in common. Another April baby here.

I just can't believe next month we can schedule our excursions !!! I still need to talk with Chuck about and find us flights to LA.

Is there anyone out there who thought about ins. but didn't get it?:rolleyes1 Is it to late and does anyone know if it will cost a fortune> TIA

April baby too - see I knew I liked you.

Last year I didn't buy insurance until July, so no it's not too late. And it wasn't overly expensive either. I had to find one that would cover existing conditions since because of my mom's heart troubles and we only paid $312. That was to cover us for 3 weeks, 1 in Paris and 1 on the cruise. There were other less expensive options, but I liked the benefits that this one offered.

Hi Desiree: Are you getting married on Castaway? Congrats ! We got married on Castaway in 2004. Feel free to ask any questions. At the 105 day mark you will be able to book everything you wan't including excursions :thumbsup2

This reminded me. I was going to ask about the wedding too? But I do remember seeing a reference to her husband in her signature. So that threw me off. Is it a wedding or a vow renewal?

I know Mike booked the vow renewal on CC. So I'm wondering if they do more than one on the same day.

i'm wondering about the insurance too! can anyone help with this?? is it too late? is it gonna cost a fortune?? tia!

yikes! this scares me!!! guess i should have looked into it sooner.

I just bought our trip insurance earlier this week. The only thing we lost by not doing it immediately, is coverage for pre-existing conditions. We do have trip cancelation coverage (for things like a sudden illness or a death of a close family member) We added some extra medical since an emergency evacuation from some of the areas we are going to would probably be very expensive. Our total for 2 adults and 1 child was $361.

Just on the off-chance someone did not know this, you cannot renew a childs passport. You have to start from scratch and get the birth certificates, go to post office, apply, etc. The good news is I get to keep their 1st passports (their pictures were adorable). The bad news is we cannot find their birth certificates.:sad2:
I got on line as the girls were both born in Texas but separate counties.
Both counties had completely different criteria (of course Dallas was the worst) and I was geting frustrated. One would accept checks the other one would not (cash or money order required, but cannot send cash through the mail :confused3 )
Anyway I kept digging and there was a Texas Office of Vital Records site where I could order the birth certificates online and pay with a credit card. :thumbsup2 No printing out pdf forms, completing each one separately, mailing them to 2 separate places with separate forms of payment etc. One online form and done!
Now let's see if I actually get them. :)

Not Texas, but I ordered my mom's online from Oklahoma and it came within a month. Hopefully TX will be just as efficient.

I think I knew about the non-renewal for kids but didn't really pay attention since my son will be 18 right when his current one expires. Would have to start over anyway.

After I read his post, I asked him why he didn't introduce himself. Told him no one would no who he is.....His response: "I'm mysterious."

Guess not so mysterious.....

Nah. The avitar and signature gave it away.

Recession- what recession? My neighbor who has the same floor plan as me and our houses are both in very nice, upgraded state, just sold her house in 3 days!!

Consider yourself lucky...

We bought our townhouse (ie not single house, not that fancy or roomy) in 2004. The first year it appreciated $50K and the market was good.

2nd year - market still ok only appreciated another $10-15K

3rd year market went south.... values dropped about $10K and even then it was "IF" you could get it (ie our neighbors home was on the market for a year)

This year.... Well if it's an indicator... Our house has dropped at least $25K in value (based on what other comps are selling at) and homes are staying on the market quite a long time.

What you're not registered with Coldstone creamery? They send you a coupon for free LOVE IT.

New sleds..... a sure sign you will have no snow for at least 5 years....

I  melting pot too..... It's just soo much food though.. (cause who could skip the cheese or salad or entree or god forbid dessert)

Hadn't heard about the Coldstone one. I'll go register now and see if I get one. I just registered for Red Robin last week and it kicked in already so maybe Coldstone will too.

Also, forgot to add to my list, a local tepanyaki place, like Benihana, gives a free birthday meal if you have a party of 4.

Thanks! After many trips to WDW, I pretty much have the park maps memorized and no longer carry them. The maps in the unofficial guide to DL are difficult to really read, so this is very helpful! I'll have them mostly memorized before the trip to make our time more efficient.

Hey Christopher - I have a few sets left of DL maps that I picked up in March. If you want to PM me your address I'll send one out to you.

So THAT'S how I'm supposed to use that darn Neti Pot, eh? :)

Not quite Mike...

You know we benefited because we never had the original spike to recover from. My house has appreciated about $20,000 in the 4 years we have had it. Texas never did the huge spike other parts of the country did and we have a very healthy growing economy here too which helps.

G'mornin' pirate:s

I realize your quote got dropped earlier. CONGRATS DIANE!! Oh, and you really don't want to run up and hug me first thing in the morning. :headache: Then again 'first thing in the morning for me is much earlier than for most people.

Thanks M!

Looks like you can save that plastic bag for someone else! When it comes to mornings, I'm a slug!

April is a great month to have a birthday ! ;) ( Mine also )

Actually a little chilly here..........all we are getting is what they call liquid sunshine. Funny how 1 day can be 80 and the very next day is 60. Someone mention in earlier posts about blood getting thin? Yup that would be me just about now.

Show off!!! ;) :goodvibes

I wish it was like that around here. Houses just sit on the market. :sad2:

Sounds like our area. I'm really hoping our house sells this summer, but so far it's not looking good for the houses that are already on the market.

I don't get to post as much as I would like to lately but I do want to send out a great THANK YOU to all the hard work with the website. I for one didn't seem to have a problem signing on. My dis id worked just fine :confused3

My DS is traveling to Lake Tahoe tomorrow. Last minute trip. So we will be getting him ready as his flight is 9am tomorrow and that means MOM needs to get him there mucho early.:scared1: I sent him the link to the TSA carryon info. I see a trip to the dollar store today.

pirate: Hello everyone!!!!!:)pirate:

ATA_Airlines.gif

ATA just filed for bankruptcy!
effective yesterday it seems...

Check your tickets if you have reservations with them! They've ceased operations entirely - so it's not as if they are operating while in reorganization....

Regretfully, I have 4 tickets to Honolulu with them for December ...

... $1500 or so that I'll have to see about wrangling in trade with another cooporating airline that serves Hawaii. The ATA home page lists the options open to me (? us) and we also have a chance of getting a refund through our credit card it seems - according to the home page - but who knows?

I gotta get on this now!
