For those of you asking about hot dogs earlier there is a show on right now on Food Network - Bobby Flay throwdown and he is at Pinks in Los Angeles

Help . . I accidently went to the 5/11 trip instead. It was quite confusing . ..LOL

Has anyone else on GTY gotten their room assignments yet? Do we have to pay in full BEFORE they give us our room? Ummmm . . .

Still GTY here too...I'm guessing that we won't see mass room assignments until after the 30 day mark.

Cool, it hasn't come on out here yet. I've got it set to DVR.

You got me in big trouble at home today. On the way home, I got a call telling me how bad my DW's day was -- she paid $3.29 for gas and drove down the street and gas was $3.16, plus she couldn't find the packet for my DS's baseball pictures tonight. :headache: AND she read the pirate newsletter and wanted to cancel the cruise. :scared1: She said it cost too much money to have them change the itinerary and not being able to take prescription meds on board. She was furious at Disney and when I told her it was an April fool's joke, she didn't appreciate the humor when she was having a bad evening anyway. She later said that a couple months down the road, it might be funny, but not today. I tried to joke about it later, but got that look that I better just not push it today

Well at least I'm not all alone (without an assigned room yet).

Guess we'll all be sleeping out in hall together . . . at least we'll be able to pick which deck:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi, BIP!

You are definitely not invisible! The passport thing was weird -- I don't know what to make of it!
so it was unusual to get it that fast huh? Maybe not a lot of Texans are travelling and not as many getting passports? But so hard to believe that considering HOW MANY were in line to get passports on that Friday at our postoffice in our small rural town. LOL

Hey BIP, great to hear the passports came so quickly.

As far as the iron ons go, might be worth buying the 3 pack and one shirt, see how it looks then decide on balance???
IDK... trying might just be wasting extra money on top of ordering the shirts? I really don't know how to do this, where to get the stuff to do it, etc. there isn't a big chance of them turning out well. :lmao:

We are a family of 5 too. We decided that we're only going to get the white t-****'s. We'll wear them on embarkation day, so we'll look sort of the same, but different.:confused3

I was thinking about doing this (we're not fond of the idea of wearing black in August anyway remember.... remember the whole hot pink discussion? LOL) but weren't sure if we'd want to be so different. But hey if you're doing it too.. plus we'd get two days wear out of the shirts since everyone is wearing them on panama canal day right?

I thought tday was going to be just an average day (ok with the kids trying to pull April Fool's jokes on me:rotfl2: ).But it wasn't!

So today one of my kids at my afterschool program-child happensto be on the autism spectrum-cleaned up an area with out being asked (huge deal for this guy!)So,because I love positive reinforcement,I made a big deal when mom came to pick him up. Put my arm around his shoulder and thanked him and said "you did such a great job! Thanks for helping out!".He then gave me a hug:hug: and a kiss on the cheek! (Big deal because he is not a touchy feely kid. I also knew it was huge because mom had to pick her jaw up off the ground!)

So with an event like that makes me feel as if I made a difference in at least one little guy's life!:cloud9:

Just wanted to share.

Chrissie
Awww, that is just precious!

Chrissie, we need more teachers like you!:grouphug:

Amen to that... amen!

our rooms are 6130 and 6131- are those good rooms? I need to go look to see exactly where those are and how close they are! assuming they are very close one number after the other but they are different categories so let's see....

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: We got our DCL Planning Kit today!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hi everyone!

I have a question for our DL experts. When can we start making ADRs for the DL restaurants? I was thinking we might try some of the character meals. Any recommendations? Also, are there any other not-to-be-missed restaurants (that are also kid-friendly) that we should consider?

Thanks for your help!
Kim

What Monica said.

Our girls really enjoy Goofy's Kitchen but it is pricey but no worse than Chef Mickey. We have also enjoyed Ariels Grotto (all the princesses are there) and Lilo and Stitch breakfast at PP. Our favorite non-character dining is at Storytellers Cafe. Choice of menu or buffet. Not as extensive as Goofy's kitchen but good food. There are many good restaurants in DTD. ESPN zone, Rainforest Cafe, Brennan's, Tortilla Joe's, House of Blues and more.

Bip:

It looks like you're all the way aft by the aft elevator cluster - and as such your position on the deck is good. However you'll have a long walk to the theater up front - which would not bother me much since the opposite is true with you being close to the kids' pool aft and Topsiders grill.

Perhaps of greater concern is the cabin reports I've seen complaining about elevator noice and you're located directly above the new teen dance floor they installed on Deck five directly below your cabins. THAT is sure to create a ton of noise from the dancing teenagers and droning rap music.

OK.... no teen dance floor was installed - it's just sleeping cabins above and below you. So, I'd say it's a decent location. Cheers! :lmao:

Hi everyone!

Remember..we are having the cabin crawl on the ship. We need some more volunteers to donate their rooms as well as people who want to see how the "other half lives". We are looking at the 2nd day out... before everyone's room looks like :scared1: Send me a PM if you are interested in joining us!

Thanks!

Now I KNOW you asked for PMs...

alas, I'm making a public declaration that we'd be interested in the tour and in volunteering our lowly catagory 9 cabin for would be Peeping Toms and Tomasitas. May I submit that our catagory "9" is not the defining consideration with us - rather it is the oddball treatment we'll be giving in decorating our cabin that folks should consider viewing... so with that I'll leave the rest to your imagination.... ;)

Chrissie,

I wanted to offer applause for your achievements with the Autistic child here. I have been raised to respect our teachers and you hold out a fine example of why we should hold our teachers high with appreciation! Cheers! :thumbsup2

Thanks. Brendan has seena show on either travel channel or food network about Pink's and that is all he has talked about! I think if he could he would eat hot dogs bfast lunch and dinner!:lmao:

Gordon Ramsay took his team to Pink's on one of the Hell's Kitchen's. Can't remember which one as we watched all three seasons last year. I'd really like to go there too but we can't get passed DL and San Diego. Last time we went near Hollywood was in '91 before the kids.

Goofy's Kitchen over at the DL Hotel is a lot of fun. Usually the first question out the kids once they find out we're going to DL, is are we going to Goofy's Kitchen. :cool1: Not sure if we'll go this year though.
