That means it's coming this way!

Hope not.
It was kind weird. There was a storm north where I am and one south around Lancaster/DeSoto,Cedar Hill. Downtown Dallas escaped almost everything.

Andrew, did people really sleep on the decks to reserve space for the PC crossing in 2005:scared1:
I had read in someone else's trip report that people were sleeping in the lobby in order to buy pins in the morning:sad2:

Seems extreme to me and we love getting the pins:confused3

Laurie they really did sleep on the decks and camp out on the hallway, but it was the WB. I think after all the surprises DCL got that sailing--they were better prepared for the EB.
We had an order form for our pins and a time they could be picked up. I also think they asked people to go back to their rooms who were trying to camp out, but there were some early risers.
If anything disorderly happened on our cruise, I wasn't aware of it.:)

Thank Goodness Monday is almost over..... :offtopic: need to tell you all a little story about how my day began... (feel free to laugh at or with me, sympathize or empathize)
I am cat sitting for my father while he and my mother are enjoying 2 months in AZ. Background: I have 2 cats. My father has 2 cats. They don't get along and I have to keep them separated. I only have 3 more weeks till Dad comes home. And I do love animals....most days...

Early this morning about 4 am I was startled by a banging on the door. I thought someone was trying to break in.:scared1: My heart was racing. I turned on my light and ran into my bathroom where I left my cell phone. The banging stopped and I quietly exited the bathroom with cell phone in hand ready to dial 911. Other than shadows (which were freaking me out) I didn't see/hear anything anymore... I then notice one of my father's cats sitting on one side of a door...very smugly looking at me with "what do you want, I'm busy" look. :snooty: One the other side of the door was my little monster sitting so innocently.:rolleyes1 Apparently they were going after each other under the door and my father's cat slammed himself into the door trying to get at my monster. (my monster probably went back at him too) I could have strung them both up...:furious: After that sleeping wasn't much of an option. I just had to share the start of my day.... and yes my day did get better...that is for a Monday. It took many hours to calm my heart back down... and I did have my blood pressure checked.. 115/80...not bad for having the beegeezus scared out of me. :)
Here's to a quieter Tuesday! :drinking1

Hi..

BIG excitment HERE!!! We finally booked air far to LAX!!! YEAH!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Here is the story.. skip if you don't wanna here the vent..

Once upon a time, I worked with some people that would fly north to go south 'cause it was more miles..:confused3 . I always thought that was stupid and that my time was much more valuable than wasting another few hours in the air or at an airport..

Well, last night DH was finally focused on the air fare issue..he is tried of my bringing it up that we need air fare to the cruise ... so he starts looking at flights.. I am thinking Direct to LAX.. but no he is thinking stops, lots of legs, MORE MILES!!! He explains that if it stops and we have another leg it is more miles and he is into triple miles and it could be a big bunch...well since we are going to fly on Saturday instead of Sunday.. I keep my big mouth shut.. and do the YES DEAR thing..

So we are booked, and have lots of miles but we arrive on Saturday and I am VERY happy to have airfare... now to work on getting us home on Monday Sept 1st, hotels, transfers et al.....

Good thing you got passports, since it sounds like you are going from Chicago to LAX by way of Luxembourg.

Found something very interesting... giving you the heads up a few hours early now......

Aewsome, at least this time I'm on the east coast so I don't have to get up at 3 a.m.

April 1st ;) , right...........

OK, I just had an exciting 2 hours. There was huge hail here and the sirens were going crazy. There was a tornado 2 miles from our house. We had to take the animals and all get in the understairs pantry/storage area. All of the news stories are coming in now.
Whew! That was crazy.

:scared: Yikes! At least you had snacks nearby.

...not that I'm an emotional eater or anything...

Here, more like 50 bros and sis'

and a wierd uncle or two (or six)

The problem with waiting until after work to post :headache: I get beaten out for the white chocolate bunny:rolleyes:

3 of them!

mine mine mine mine mine :)

I totally understand where you are coming from! My 2 fuzzies will every once in a while in the middle of the night will feel the need to have these bizzare chasing knock down WWE type extraviganzas! They will knock things over, bang thru doors and just reek havoc! Then look at YOU like you are bothering THEM!

I fully understand!

Chrissie:hug:

A question for all of you have have been to the port before. I know there is an Enterprise Rental Car Agency there/nearby. Are there any other agencies around? If you are renting a car while in CA where are you renting from?

TIA

Chrissie

Regarding cruise guide book, I was looking out my window and a UPS van came down our road, its no through and we do not see them often, so I thought great its here, my stuff always comes UPS from DCL, rather than Royal mail.

It drove around at the bottom and went away again, no booklet, :scared:

I got mine today and my dates are correct. 1 good thing today.

20 sound so much better than 100+ days!! :cool1:

too bad it was not 1 more Monday - after my day today I am more than ready to go on vacation (and I just got back from Florida yesterday)

I've also been wondering about the sleeping on decks. I'm sure it will happen.

As for pins, on the Med repo they did it as a lottery. You had to submit your requests by a certain day, then they sent you fish mail to let you know what you got. It was not first come first serve for the limited editions, it was pure lottery. Although I didn't get the set I really wanted (and if I had I would have had to fight Todd for it) I did get all my other choices.

We were in Destin, FL this past week and there is a character outlet store there. I bought one of those tins of pins they sell for 20 bucks. Inside were 12 Med Repo pins. I bought the tin for my DS to trade with on the cruise - I thought they would be plain old cruise pins.

Roger I knew you would know! LOL

Thanks!

Hey ...Brendan wanted me to ask...know any good hot dog places between DL and LA? He LOVES hot dogs and has been begging me to ask?
Any suggestions?

Chrissie

And if he loves hot dogs, you've got to go to Pink's.

It is a legend in LA and you never know who you might end up in line with.

I think we're going to have to ask one of our Southern CA pirates to check this out. As far as I've found there is only an Enterprise at the port and it's not open on Sundays. I'm not sure what folks are going to do. You might want to think about returning near DL and taking the party bus with all of us.

I remembered you guys talking of cameras - didn't pay much attention to it at the time abd not even sure if this is a great deal or not but thought I would pass it along.

I got a coupon booklet from Costco today and in it is a Olympus Stylus 830
8MP, 2.5"LCD, 5x optical zoom dual image stabilization & all weather design for 199.99 after $50 off available only at costco.com from April 4 - 20.

If its a good deal, hope someone can take advantage :thumbsup2

Pins was on Westbound.

Cruise docs came in today for the repo cruise in August.

I was really happy until I saw the date that I could log in to make ressies. They had the dates for a "newbie."

I called them and said that I have sailed with them five times before and wouldn't that make me a Castaway Club member.

The response? "Oh, yeah. I see that. Hmmm. Let me put you on hold."

Came back a few minutes later and told me that the reservation was changed to reflect that I am a "club" member and can make my ressies for excursions, Palo, et cetera at the earlier date.

Yee Haw. Can't wait!

Booked my bus from Grand Californian to the Port today. Am really getting excited.

As fast as time is flying, it cannot possibly go fast enough for August to get here!!!

I think it was heading South -- my area was hit, also. I wouldn't mind if the old house got some hail....... A new roof will look good when it goes up for sale (after we get our *gas* money! LOL!)

Yeah,we're praying for the same thing this year! ;)

... , so I thought I'd switch to a pitcher. This one is hard plastic, so i wonder about it getting cracked in baggage or such

Pack it with t-shirts or something to support the inside. But you probably could have figured that one out on your own... :rotfl:

So please vote on the wrist bands/bracelets before I have to go "Huge Font" on everyone!

We're supposed to go vote on bracelets someplace? Sheez, what'd I miss?

That's the one I've always wanted for the back of the t-**** !

I would have liked that on the back of the shirt better, myself. Just my 2 cents.

Me three, or four, or whatever the count is up to.

 Oh Captain Artist!! It's not too late to change the artwork for the back...

I thought the water was okay too.. but I still need a bottle of water to carry with me on the excursions.. maybe I'll buy one at the store when i pick up the wine..

If you like the tap water on board (we like it too), don't you just need a water bottle to keep refilling?

We like our Platypus Sport - they fold flat when empty and have a pull top lid. I made water bottle carriers out of O rings, and some 1" ribbon.

Hi Andrew:

In response to later interview questions they all announced that the Wonder would be based at San Francisco. And that Disney bought Alcatraz as a third West Coast private Island.

Though not known for its beaches, my understanding is that the ship will actually berth their overnight in order to allow guests to enjoy its very unique accomodations.

Dan

This cruise will definitely be popular with famlies with STs. :rotfl2:

Hummmmm. Me thinks you need to be armed against said intruders....
A squirt gun should do quite nicely.

Wooo-Hoooo! Magical Express doco's arrived today from WDW. And our WDW tickets arrived from MacDill AFB.

We're going to Disney World. We're going to Disney World. And we're not taking the kids. :yay: :woohoo:

Don't know if everyone got it or not - but I got a flyer from Disney Card...
# nights at DL for $309 per person, including tickets. Dates are over the summer 20 June through 31 Aug.
.

Mansfield. ;)

True. Sounds like we both an intersting afternoon. :thumbsup2
I told my boss the hail sounded like someone had a golf club and was banging it on our roof. No damage though. Bill had just last weekend taken all the plants out of the greenhouse. He was so upset about his "babies". Turns out they were shielded by the house and did not lose a leaf.
