No -- GO STARS!!!

Looks sorta like the creature in the Mos Isly (or however you spell it!) cantina in Star Wars.

Am I the only person that has never seen any of the Star Wars movies? Dh and the kids have seen them but, I have no interest........

Task Force Formation Alert

I started a thread on the pirate zone for anyone interested.

Last time we cruised, I made journals for the kids. For our WDW days, I used the ones from www.themouseforless.com, but I wasn't thrilled with their very general DCL pages, so I made my own. There was a double page spread for each day with a few activities (word search, solve a puzzle, find the answer to a question type of thing) related to where we were that day (look for 6-toed cats in Key West, learn a few Spanish words in Costa Maya, etc.). On sea days, I had some on-board things to do (how many steps is our room from the kids club, go down the Mickey slide at least 5x, how fast is the ship going right now). I'll see if Tom can post an example on the pirate zone.

Creating the pages required a little bit of kid-level research about each of the ports and and some creative brain time making up activities. So here is my thought on a task force - if we have enough interested parents, each persons could volunteer to 'research' a port and come up with a few kid-level facts, questions, activities & we would need a few volunteers to think of sea day activities (I have 2 sea day pages already). I would be happy to create the page layouts post .pdfs for people to download and print pre-cruise.

Any takers?
If so, post here

I'm interested! I was planning on making journals anyway. I will volunteer for PV. I'll post on The Pirate Zone website as well.

Pirates Not In the Caribbean Deck Party :confused3

That's just odd.

Pirates just left the Caribbean deck party!

Just have to share this story from our local news. It brought tears to my eyes when I watched it on the news. Karen Campanale said she pretty much kissed her rings goodbye & she couldn't believe how Disney went above & beyond the call of duty to return them. One of the many reasons we love Disney so much! Sometimes they really get it right! :goodvibes

Disney workers recover rings mistakenly thrown away
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Walt Disney World seems to have worked its magic on a Massachusetts couple who accidentally threw away three platinum and diamond wedding rings.

While tidying up their villa as they prepared to leave the park late last week, Paul Campanale dumped a cardboard bowl, not knowing the container inside it held his wife Karen's engagement, wedding and five-year-anniversary rings.

Park employees warned the couple from Worcester, Mass., that recovering the jewelry was all but impossible. So on Friday, the Campanales and their two children loaded onto a Magical Express bus and headed to the airport.

Back at the Wilderness Lodge resort, executive housekeeper Drew Weaver realized that trash from the Campanales' villa hadn't reached the industrial-size compactor yet. He and seven other volunteers donned protective clothing, emptied a parking lot bin and waded through bag after bag of rubbish to find the rings. And they did.

Paul Campanale, 37, a chemist, received the good news on his cell phone and Weaver met the family to deliver the rings. Karen Campanale, 35, a teacher, said she was shocked by the find.

"That's not the first time we've gone through trash -- oh, no," Weaver said. "We don't always find things. Many times we come up empty. But we didn't this time."

On the westbound, Pirate night is at Cabo....

Wow, that's just weird . . . I know that's the best party and I guess they want to save it for last so as to not point how how much less wonderful the other deck parties are;) but still -- to do Pirates in the Caribbean after they have left the Caribbean and are well in the Pacific? So basically, I guess we know that Pirate night will be near the end of the cruise but not necessarily in Aruba since that info seems to have been from the WB cruise . . .

Heck I havent even got my DCL packet yet ...:confused3

pirate:

Me, neither! My TA even called DCL a few weeks ago to have them resent and I STILL can't get a planning packet . . . if I didn't see my reservation on the DCL site, I'd be worried they didn't know I was on the ship!:sad2:

Goodmorning Everyone!

Long time no post! Hope everyone is well and healthy!

:bday: Happy belated Birthday :bday: to all that we missed
(Lisa, Crash, Todd and family and all others!)

So much to catch up on. Thanks to my wife Johnna who has been keeping up with the thread.

We had a great time at WDW during the Easter break. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's new Vacation Club rooms. (1 bedroom) Very nicely appointed.

We had a chance meeting with Laura and Mark (Fairygodmother and Disneypilots) in Italy at EPCOT. It was a nice surprise.

I will post a RUGBY update shortly.

Thanks for everyones hard work to make this trip enjoyable for all!:)

Hi Pete and Johnna:wave: Missed you around here.

When I shared this with my ds, his eyes got really big, like "Seriously, I have to wear Mickey gloves to serve?" :rotfl:

He gets gullibility from me!

How great is that!:cool1:

Wow, I don't know how I have missed this before, but our deck parties are definitely Cabo, Acapulco, and Aruba? Cabo and Acapulco I can understand, but why have a deck party in Aruba when we are docked until very late???? I guess that would be pirates night, since we are headed into the Caribbean at that point, but it does seem odd to put it on a night when people could choose to have dinner and drinks until fairly late in Aruba. I know you, Andrew had said something about fireworks, but we had fireworks on a day at sea on the Med repo last year . . .

Thanks for posting this, Andrew. I hope the night deck parties are right. I agree that it's odd for Aruba night since we're there so late.

This is what they have said all along it would be that night, I know a few people dissagree, and until we cruise we will not know for sure, But this was a direct answer to my question and they had my reservation number and I clearly said E/bound so we must take it at face value.

The late stay doesn't cause to much of an issue, firstly on the Last Panama trip all the deck parties were port days, I know transatlantic was different but there wasn't an option there.

In 2005 Pirates night was Curacao night and we were in port till 10pm.

They started the Pirate deck party at 9.45pm usual time, padded a bit with extra dance music and songs, the Pirate show bit then came on.

As we pulled out of port 10.30pm Curacao, put on a great firework display for us, all along the sure, I guess and hope Aruba will do the same, then ( fooling a few who thought that was it) The Magic let its own ones off, far later than usual, I cannot remember the extra time but it was 11.15pm>11.30pm.

We had Susan Egan on board that night she did two shows and got back off again to fly home, so we must have left port post 10pm

WHO ME?

ME? popcorn:: How I'd get dragged into it - I was just watching the fireworks popcorn::

OK Now is a VERY GOOD TIME to borrow Capt Crash's I'M INNOCENT phrase! :lmao:

Its all Andrew's evil plan to make everyone think he's an English Gent. He can hang and his serve is an evil one - kinda :tiptoe: up on you and then - WHOOSH!

Yes you Laura you are a stirrer:lmao: I nearly got in trouble with Julie last night :hippie: I thought of a good punchline which would be funny, but A little rude, :scared1: and decided to be the English gent and not post it.:lovestruc

(For those who are slow we were talking about SLAP, what would the plural of that be?):bride: :rolleyes1

You know, no one enjoys performing without an audience . . .

Thanks, Laura:love:

Yes there are rumors about that in New York, the 'viewing' figures are high, -How is Frabrizo?

Personally I prefer not to perform in front of an audience..........:rotfl2:
