Ok, I got no time to ketchup. Kids are back to school today after three & 1/2 days off. I am so done with school. Unfortunately, a new marking period just started, so I need to get my head back in the game.

Batting cages last night... Baseball tonight... Baseball tomorrow night...

And, today's my birthday !! yea me, yea me, I'm gonna have CAKE !!

Goodmorning Everyone!

Long time no post! Hope everyone is well and healthy!

:bday: Happy belated Birthday :bday: to all that we missed
(Lisa, Crash, Todd and family and all others!)

So much to catch up on. Thanks to my wife Johnna who has been keeping up with the thread.

We had a great time at WDW during the Easter break. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge's new Vacation Club rooms. (1 bedroom) Very nicely appointed.

We had a chance meeting with Laura and Mark (Fairygodmother and Disneypilots) in Italy at EPCOT. It was a nice surprise.

I will post a RUGBY update shortly.

Thanks for everyones hard work to make this trip enjoyable for all!:)

Hi Peter - welcome back! I heard about your chance meeting...of course a round of "It's A Small World" was sung by all:rotfl:.

Tom...I'm trying to figure this cake out. Is this elephant playing an organ, or bartending?

Looks sorta like the creature in the Mos Isly (or however you spell it!) cantina in Star Wars.

Relinking the offer the one of our fellow Pirates has made to have a Catholic Mass or non-denominational service on our cruise. Anyone interested should e-mail DCL.

I called DCL and was told that I needed to email my request to the following email address:

dcl.guest.communications@disneycruise.com

Here is a copy of my communication:

**********************************************************
Hello. My family and I are currently booked on the Eastbound Repo cruise for August 2008. Through communications with other guests on the DIS message boards, I have recently been made aware that a Roman Catholic priest will be sailing with us as a passenger. He has made an offer to have Mass on the Sundays we will be sailing and has invited anyone who is interested in attending. He also conducted a poll as to who would be interested, and already 32 families have responded that they are interested in attending Masses. We are asking for a couple of things. Would you please give us a commitment for a time and space to have Mass on August 24th, and August 31st. Also, we would like to have this listed in the Navigator so that others may have the opportunity to attend.

Father Mike will need to know prior to his arrival in Los Angeles if DCL can accomodate us, so that he can prepare by bringing the necessary supplies for Mass.

Please keep in mind that as Catholics, we have an obligation to attend Mass every Sunday.

I look forward to your prompt reply.

Thanks so much! -Deanna reservation # XXXXXXX

Please feel free to use all or parts of this letter and email DCL to let them know we would really like a time and place for Sunday Masses!

Thanks!

And then, the sense of humor .... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, and my ds13 is a wonderful altar server if you would like his help! Any Eucharistic Ministers in the group?

Yes, but this is a Disney cruise. Will he be able to hold the cruets while wearing his humongous Mickey gloves? :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry, too funny not to bring over...

When I shared this with my ds, his eyes got really big, like "Seriously, I have to wear Mickey gloves to serve?" :rotfl:

He gets gullibility from me!

Task Force Formation Alert

I started a thread on the pirate zone for anyone interested.

Last time we cruised, I made journals for the kids. For our WDW days, I used the ones from www.themouseforless.com, but I wasn't thrilled with their very general DCL pages, so I made my own. There was a double page spread for each day with a few activities (word search, solve a puzzle, find the answer to a question type of thing) related to where we were that day (look for 6-toed cats in Key West, learn a few Spanish words in Costa Maya, etc.). On sea days, I had some on-board things to do (how many steps is our room from the kids club, go down the Mickey slide at least 5x, how fast is the ship going right now). I'll see if Tom can post an example on the pirate zone.

Creating the pages required a little bit of kid-level research about each of the ports and and some creative brain time making up activities. So here is my thought on a task force - if we have enough interested parents, each persons could volunteer to 'research' a port and come up with a few kid-level facts, questions, activities & we would need a few volunteers to think of sea day activities (I have 2 sea day pages already). I would be happy to create the page layouts post .pdfs for people to download and print pre-cruise.

Any takers?
If so, post here

Has anyone gotten response from DCL regarding the lockout of adding/deleting from wish list for excursions?

good evening everyone!
what is the car rental company located on disney property? we want to rent a car the day we disembark...but i want to drop it off at wdw...which company do i need to rent from?
thanks!

Budget rental car is located at the Doubletree Resort which is one of the Downtown Disney Resorts but quite a walk to DTD buses, Alamo is located at the car car center at 1000 Car Care Drive (near the parking exit of MK) and another location at the Dolphin Resort. We tend to use Alamo & drop it off at the Dolphin because it's easy to take the Disney Transportation from there.

Would be great if the gas prices would be a little better.:rolleyes1

Ah right the gas prices. I guess I keep hoping that's going to get bit better. :sad2:

Ahem..........I would like to make a small announcement:

We are DEFINITELY LEAVING IN 16 DAYS!

DH GOT OUR PLANE TICKETS FINALLY!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We leave on Delta on Wed, May 7th - now to figure out how the older two will NOT kill each other while we're gone.

:cool1:

Wow, I don't know how I have missed this before, but our deck parties are definitely Cabo, Acapulco, and Aruba? Cabo and Acapulco I can understand, but why have a deck party in Aruba when we are docked until very late???? I guess that would be pirates night, since we are headed into the Caribbean at that point, but it does seem odd to put it on a night when people could choose to have dinner and drinks until fairly late in Aruba. I know you, Andrew had said something about fireworks, but we had fireworks on a day at sea on the Med repo last year . . .

On the westbound, Pirate night is at Cabo....
