Y'all still on for Saturday?

252527588_6jJV5-S.jpg

We should all be there. We're dealing with some issues with Linda's Mom, but for now Saturday is looking good. The kids are really looking forward to it!

Good Morning pirate:

Take What You Can!!

GIVE NOTHING BACK!

Congrats!

Disney Gift Cards are the way to go. I don't think the ship takes Disney Dollars

You can use Disney Dollars to pay toward your onboard account, either when you first board or any time along the way.

Hi All!
boy! Miss a week on the DIS takes forever to ketchup! Last week at the club was nuts! Packing up 3 years of life is tough!
Here goes:
Happy Birthday & Congrats to all who I missed over this week!:cool1:
Monica... I'm glad things are working out better for you... Let's hope it continues:grouphug:

My news: My last day at boys & girls club was Friday... very sad, very enlightening, very draining. We had lots of cake, freeze pops, games & prizes (everyone got them:) ). I was surprised with gifts & very touching cards... I guess I made a difference in some kids & parents lives (I just didn't really know)... Even the new girl (only worked with her for 1 week) at the desk was crying & giving hugs. But now it is on to a new job on Monday. Saturday was spent cleaning a summer camp of pine cones & twigs. Guess the parents of these kids don't want nature to come in the way of enjoying a camp experience:confused3 But our scout troop got paid generously for the job... which means more stuff for our boys.:cool1:
Last night & this AM... ketchup on the DIS & got my tix for trip home from TOAL. Now I have to pay for it.... Also found out the club doesn't want to pay me for my vacation time owed to me.... guess I call the labor board Monday. I was counting on that money because I have no vacation time from my new job yet. Oh well.... it'll all work out somehow! (I'll hit the lottery:rotfl: ) I just have to meet all of you on this trip... IT WILL BE AWESOME!!!:goodvibes
~Penny

Best wishes on the new job Penny!

I know , I know its been a little while , but we have been extremely busy here with Birthdays (all 4 of us fall within a week or so of each other) Football of course , which is great cause in Vegas we have Fall football and Spring and both boys are playing spring ball right now plus we have been car shopping for Dylan :scared1: :scared1: Wow , hard to believe he is growing up on me so fast , but with all the improvement he has done with himself, school and home I think he deserves to have a little responsibility like having a car. So we have looked at new and used and its driving me crazy lol But I think we might settle on a new Hyundai Accent hatchback ...All the dealers I talk to are shocked that I want a Manual transmission for Dylan ..I said I am trying to be a smart parent , A stick shift means paying more attention to the car then friends , also means minimum risk of Texting while driving (geezz I cant believe how fast these kids text on these phones ..LOL ) Dylan has already sworn not to text at all while in the car , so having the stick shift should help that out ...He needs to really know how to drive a car as opposed to having an automatic and just being a passenger with a steering wheel ...lol

Love that idea of getting a stick shift. My first car was a stick, so why not my kids? Although my DS turns 13 in just over a month, I've been telling him that Colorado raised the legal driving age to 18. He believed me for a while, but I still have believing that the legislature is working on a bill to do this.

But the SW 770 good to 33ft (actually 61ft tested by divers) is still going for $249 at Amazon. I think it is almost time to pick this up. ;)

Would you recommend the 770 over the 790/850? We're not divers so don't need the depth.

Is that legal? I thought the only way they couldn't pay out unpaid vacation/PTO is if you owe the company (i.e. reimbursed tuition, moving, advances, etc.). Keep us informed with what the labor board says...I especially can't believe this is coming from a nonprofit.

Thanks for the update Wendy....

WOW ALmost 50 pirate: 's at Hojo's alone.... Will the buses be able to hold that much luggage?

We'll have at least 10 to 12 bags alone! I guess it'll be similar to Mears.

50 at the HOJO's!---no wonder I can't seem to add that extra day on the 12th. The premium Disney view rooms are soldout and they only have pool views in Building 2 available.

Thanks again to Wendy for getting the bus to the port set-up....we definitely want the early bus!!

******

Also, to all regarding the Disney Dollars/Disney Card discussion...we also do this for the kids' birthdays. One half of the family seems to listen while the other must not think this is appropriate. Oh well. Our kids have already got quite a bit saved for the TOAL. We're thinking of paying out their allowance from now til August in Disney Dollars as well. Although Disney Dollars aren't practical on the cruise (have to turn them into Guest Services), they can use them at Downtown Disney and Disneyland before the cruise. We'll have to limit the youngest one as he doesn't yet comprehend saving some for later...

WARNING : PLANNING ALERT - pirate: PIRATE BUS

I've finally had a chance to do some Pirate Bus "ketchup". Below is a list of all the people who have PM me about being interested in a Bus to Port from the DL area.

Thank you so much for putting this bus together!!!! I'm so excited to be able to travel without worrying if I'm going to get where I need to go & on time!:cool1: I'm also staying at HoJo's along with lots of others I see... woohoo!

The 770/790 are last years models, the 850/1030?? are this years models.

The 770 price is $50 cheaper than the 850 is running right now....

Other than depth, etc., they are same camera

OK..

Who forgot to mention the blood and guts factor on that movie? M....?:confused3

We rented the movie. I loved the singing...

It's hard though to see JD as anything other than the Capt of course...

Kinda weird at the begining to see him on a ship too. (ooh look kids the Black Pearl...oh wait a dead body...:rotfl: )

I did almost lose my lunch though....

In all fairness, I did say when it first came out (or maybe before, even, based on the Broadway version) that I feared it would be too bloody for an "art" audience and too "arty" for a slasher movie audience, and that it might have problems at the box office because of that (but I think it did quite well in the end).

I also remember posting that I didn't like the way they did all those serial bloody killings during the reprise of the song "Joanna" near the end, because on Broadway it was a very touching song as sung by Sweeney, but it didn't come across that way with all the spurting blood . . .

So you just didn't read my posts!:)

Hey don't blame me...I went so cheap i ONLY did pool view. (bldg 2 i think)

Gotta have the extra bucks for drinks (i mean pictures ;) ) ya know....

OK i guess you got me but you have to admit it was a ways back when you posted right..... (probably got buried under the cake:rolleyes1 )

BTW i will say that reading your comments now that they are dead on...

Mike, this is just what Andrew and I DO . . . jump in and come along for the ride -- it's a lot of fun:goodvibes

(But seriously, you should see him selecting his wine package, or the type of champagne he has delivered to his stateroom on embarkation . . .)

But I'm not sure that I'd want to jump on board because, with all of the joking aside, I'm really just a Diet Pepsi drinker! :lmao:

Thanks!!!:thumbsup2 Decisions, decisions...the 850SW is on Amazon for around $250 right now as well. I always wondered why it was less than the 770SW -- now I know. The 1030SW is selling for around $340.

My comments might have gotten buried in "beefcake" -- I think I remember Monica posting some yummy Depp pictures around the same time:thumbsup2

So, Mike, you can be our designated driver . . .:goodvibes

For the kids b-days/holidays I sent out an email (to grandparents/aunts/uncles) that the kids would love Disney Dollars to spend on their trip --- nobody took me up on it..... :confused3 Youngest dd has a b-day in July hopefully she'll get some! DH & I have b-days in June/July but, I'm not going to hold my breath! LOL!

I always " Hinted " to my Mom to get us some Disney gift cards.:rolleyes1 We never got any but I made sure every holiday, birthday ect. I bought gift cards.:thumbsup2 Just remember if you don't use them all you won't get anything back. 15 day cruise I don't think I will have to worry about that.:lmao:

Tina, I am sure you were worried over your son too. I am glad he came home.:goodvibes

Tina, it does make it more exciting to have all the flights booked. We always fly into Savannah when we go to Hilton Head--just have a hard time paying for the extra convenience.:goodvibes

I shed quite a few tears. I am glad we talk and hoping things will turn around for him. I don't even feel like any convience because we have to drive to Charleston and it's not even a non-stop flight. It does make it exciting though to KNOW we have our flight.:thumbsup2

I bet it looks nice out there now. Won't be long and you'll be able to enjoy that pool:)

Tina, I take it you don't like the pine straw:lmao: We put it out here every couple of years--my plants like the acid it has. We put the rubber mulch at one of the stores last year and Alan wants to put that at the house this year. :)

I never heard of it before moving here. Heard it attracts spiders & ants real bad so that had to be one of the first things to go. The rock has been easy to deal with. Just 4 1/2 tons worth is all.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi Gang,

Wow - Wendy & I must be on the same wave length - I got out my planning folder this weekend for both the Bus Info and the Brunch/Tea info.
It's getting close enough to get some price quotes.

Busy weekend for us - weather is strange - it's cold again - well for SoCal!!
So, I made soup for dinner.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Do you know I have just received a cheeky e-mail form someone as follows:-

"As you know we are going on a 15 night Disney repositioning cruise this summer from August 17 - September 1. We would greatly appreciate gifts of either Moet & Chandon champagne –Dom Perignon $185, (I can’t stand the cheap stuff) or onboard credit to our account for our 2008/2009/2010 birthdays. To give onboard credit, simply call Disney cruise line and give the amount of credit you are giving and a credit card number. Please note the minimum On board credit is $1,000, and it would be nice to leave the number of a credit card with a high limit, saying ‘'its for express checkout’’ Our reservation # is 6050 and is of course under the name of Julie Thank you so much in advance!"
:thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao:

oooh miss your breakfasts Tina! :goodvibes

I have missed posting on here. My Mom is coming on Friday, still trying to get everything in it's place.

We paid more than $200 per person non-stop from Boston. It was a bit more than if we went Southwest, but I am not a fan of flying so it had to be non-stop! :scared:
Okay I think I'm all caught up now it's off to food shopping! The fun just never ends around here!

Lucky you ! We have non-stop for on the way back. It's called renting a car and driving 8 or so hours.:rotfl2:

When I moved from NY to Chicago I was in my house for 16 years. Then in Chicago for 9 months now in SC. I was still finding things in Chicago that I had never seen that was moved from NY. Talk about collecting stuff.

My oldest daughter turns 16 in June . . . I'm sure she would like to email a bit this summer before the cruise . . .
My DS turns 18 June 1st.

Been so busy the past 2 days, so I just went back a few pages to read. If I missed anything important please let me know:confused3
Worried about one of our cats (Tammy)that loves to sit on the window sill when the window is open. I keep warning DH that the screen wasn't meant to take a lot of weight, but he so misses Reebok who used to do the same thing. He insists that the screen is strong enough. Is there anything out there that I can use to secure the screen:confused3 Tammy is so used to being allowed to sit on the window sill she gets very vocal about demanding the window open now:rolleyes:

My Mom has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. Well after my being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, she finally agreed to go for a mammogram in Feb. (her last one was 20 years ago) Well, she now knows that she has breast cancer too and needs surgery. It is like dealing with a stinky teen, she is so irrational:mad: She keeps changing her mind about what kind of treatment she wants:headache: I can't keep up with her mood changes and irrational questions. She often ignores my advice.

Anyway, people please make sure that the women in your life get their mammograms. Catching breast cancer early makes the treatment so much easier. Here's a bit of trivia-about 70% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history. My Mom was convinced she didn't need mammograms because there was no family history and because she did self exams. Obviously she was wrong. I had been nagging her for years to get her mammograms. It really makes me mad that it took my being diagnosed for her to finally get one:headache: End of sermon:rolleyes:

It's hard when an adult child needs to parent the parent if you know what I mean. Glad they caught it in time. It's a good lesson for all of us.:thumbsup2

It's going good, thanks. I am done on April 30th. Just started to feel the side effects this past week, but very tolerable.

Glad to hear your treatment will be over soon. That's a good day. ( my birthday )

Well I am somewhat caught up. Early day tomorrow, having people putting up 6 ft. fence in backyard. Never thought I would be so excited about a fence before. Have a good night everyone.
