Need all your prayers. DS ran away today. Going on 6 hours now. He finally called and I was able to activate the GPS on his phone. He's about 20 miles away. My brother is going to try to find him.

Glad he was found....Glad your brother was there to assist..I am thinking of you and your family!

My news: My last day at boys & girls club was Friday... very sad, very enlightening, very draining. We had lots of cake, freeze pops, games & prizes (everyone got them:) ). I was surprised with gifts & very touching cards... I guess I made a difference in some kids & parents lives (I just didn't really know)... Even the new girl (only worked with her for 1 week) at the desk was crying & giving hugs. But now it is on to a new job on Monday. Saturday was spent cleaning a summer camp of pine cones & twigs. Guess the parents of these kids don't want nature to come in the way of enjoying a camp experience:confused3 But our scout troop got paid generously for the job... which means more stuff for our boys.:cool1:
Last night & this AM... ketchup on the DIS & got my tix for trip home from TOAL. Now I have to pay for it.... Also found out the club doesn't want to pay me for my vacation time owed to me.... guess I call the labor board Monday. I was counting on that money because I have no vacation time from my new job yet. Oh well.... it'll all work out somehow! (I'll hit the lottery:rotfl: ) I just have to meet all of you on this trip... IT WILL BE AWESOME!!!:goodvibes
~Penny

It does make you feel good when you work with kids and they and their parents show they appreciate you! I am sure it wasn't easy to leave the kiddies...you get attached to some of them! Best wishes on your new adventure!

Chrissie

My Mom has been driving me crazy for the past few weeks. Well after my being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, she finally agreed to go for a mammogram in Feb. (her last one was 20 years ago) Well, she now knows that she has breast cancer too and needs surgery. It is like dealing with a stinky teen, she is so irrational:mad: She keeps changing her mind about what kind of treatment she wants:headache: I can't keep up with her mood changes and irrational questions. She often ignores my advice.

Anyway, people please make sure that the women in your life get their mammograms. Catching breast cancer early makes the treatment so much easier. Here's a bit of trivia-about 70% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history. My Mom was convinced she didn't need mammograms because there was no family history and because she did self exams. Obviously she was wrong. I had been nagging her for years to get her mammograms. It really makes me mad that it took my being diagnosed for her to finally get one:headache: End of sermon:rolleyes:

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I went through it with my Dad when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He refused treatment altogether and it was maddening.

You give good advice.....I am one of the 70% that had NO family history, on either side, of breast cancer.

My brother found DS. He's going to take him to his house for the night and try to figure out what's bothering him.

If it weren't for the GPS locator service on the phone, we would not have any idea where he was. His cell service just started offering it last week, thank goodness.

So glad you found him:hug:
How scary:sad2:
I'm not sure I would have thought of the GPS if I had been in the same situation.

Worried about one of our cats (Tammy)that loves to sit on the window sill when the window is open. I keep warning DH that the screen wasn't meant to take a lot of weight, but he so misses Reebok who used to do the same thing. He insists that the screen is strong enough. Is there anything out there that I can use to secure the screen:confused3 Tammy is so used to being allowed to sit on the window sill she gets very vocal about demanding the window open now:rolleyes:

Laurie, I wouldn't know how to secure it better. Nut it must be a cat thing to like to lay in the window sills.:)

Laurie, sorry to hear about your Mom. I think it would be a hard decision about what course of treatment to take.

My mom is the same way. That is why we don't tell her when we have medical issues. She has TOO many friends with medical advice which is always the opposite of what we are doing. What she doesn't know won't kill me...:lmao:
Keep trying to explain to her that "second opinion" does not mean talking to every Tom, Dick and Harry that has medical knowledge:rolleyes: ;)

Sorry about you Dad, Mary Ann:hug: How frustrating :sad2:

It's a shock when you get the news isn't it. I'm not sure how much to tell my Mom in advance of her surgery.
How did radiation treatment go for you ?

Oh, Julie, I smell trouble brewing! :)

Mike, this is just what Andrew and I DO . . . jump in and come along for the ride -- it's a lot of fun:goodvibes

(But seriously, you should see him selecting his wine package, or the type of champagne he has delivered to his stateroom on embarkation . . .)

It's going good, thanks. I am done on April 30th. Just started to feel the side effects this past week, but very tolerable.

Wendy, since it looks like we will have at least 120 people wanting this, we will end up with at least 2 of the big buses . . . we should do some kind of poll asking if anyone wants a later pickup . . . if everyone wants early, which I suspect, we can just split up the hotels so that each bus only makes a few stops (before the big liquor run, of course!).

When this planning gets into serious mode (next month or so), we should get final estimates on what it will cost per person and then have people make a firm commitment. We also need to find out whether someone has to secure the cost in advance with a credit card and then collect from people as they get on the bus (likely, I think) vs. having people pay the driver as they get on. If this is how we do it, then you and I should be on different buses and could each be in charge of collecting for that bus, for example.

Hurray for the pirate buses!pirate: pirate: pirate:

Lisa & Mike

Y'all still on for Saturday?

I'm glad to hear that everything continues to go well, Mary Ann:flower3:

Real question coming...

If you were to ask for Disney dollars or something along the line from family/friends etc for the trip. What would you request?

We have 2 B-days coming up before the trip and our 15th Anniversary is a few weeks before the trip. And I don't need anything, so on board credits or Disney dollar or something would be great. But I am not sure how to request it...

Both my boys just had birthdays. I told my brothers & the boys grandparents that they would rather have money this year because of the trip. I told everyone that it was OK if they did not want to give money. Everyone was happy to give them money. (except my brother who is coming on the TOAL, he'll end up giving them money during the cruise). I think sometimes it seems like the kids have a lot of "things" & people think how many more "things" can we get them.

Lisa, I'm pretty sure I'm still coming. There is a chance my Mom may schedule her surgery for Friday and I may have to be in NY for that. I may just fly into NY days after her surgery considering that she may need my help more after other family has left. Worst case scenario I would send my DH and kids on Saturday to meet you all without me (especially since we already have the tickets).

I should know tomorrow after she talks to her doctor when her surgery is scheduled. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Do you know I have just received a cheeky e-mail form someone as follows:-

"As you know we are going on a 15 night Disney repositioning cruise this summer from August 17 - September 1. We would greatly appreciate gifts of either Moet & Chandon champagne –Dom Perignon $185, (I can’t stand the cheap stuff) or onboard credit to our account for our 2008/2009/2010 birthdays. To give onboard credit, simply call Disney cruise line and give the amount of credit you are giving and a credit card number. Please note the minimum On board credit is $1,000, and it would be nice to leave the number of a credit card with a high limit, saying ‘'its for express checkout’’ Our reservation # is 6050 and is of course under the name of Julie Thank you so much in advance!"
