April 1st , right...........

OK, I just had an exciting 2 hours. There was huge hail here and the sirens were going crazy. There was a tornado 2 miles from our house. We had to take the animals and all get in the understairs pantry/storage area. All of the news stories are coming in now.
Whew! That was crazy.

How scary! Be careful.

We lived in Okalahoma for a year and I never got used to the tornado warnings. We didn't have a safe place to go at our house. We had to go to a local school. I'll take earthquakes any day.

BIG excitment HERE!!! We finally booked air far to LAX!!! YEAH!!

Here is the story.. skip if you don't wanna here the vent..

Once upon a time, I worked with some people that would fly north to go south 'cause it was more miles.. . I always thought that was stupid and that my time was much more valuable than wasting another few hours in the air or at an airport..

Well, last night DH was finally focused on the air fare issue..he is tried of my bringing it up that we need air fare to the cruise ... so he starts looking at flights.. I am thinking Direct to LAX.. but no he is thinking stops, lots of legs, MORE MILES!!! He explains that if it stops and we have another leg it is more miles and he is into triple miles and it could be a big bunch...well since we are going to fly on Saturday instead of Sunday.. I keep my big mouth shut.. and do the YES DEAR thing..

So we are booked, and have lots of miles but we arrive on Saturday and I am VERY happy to have airfare... now to work on getting us home on Monday Sept 1st, hotels, transfers et al.....

Which airline??? Are you flying directly home?? I can't sit still on a plane for the 4 hours it will take to get to Lax!!!

Nope no DL or DCA for us.. taking 2 weeks off and leaving the kids alone and with Aunt Sophie is scarey enough.. nope Saturday the day before we sail.. Eric b'day LOL

Hope everyone is okay.. that is scarey.. without a basement to hid. When i lived in KS we had basements just for the tornado reason.

United.. out of ORD.. to SFO and then to LAX.. on the way back he is looking at Jacksonville, and Tampa and Miami... I am so dull and boring I would have done a direct flight to LAX and then one from MCO to ORD..

Mondays are the only days I work 8-5. Tues I work 8-4 and the rest of the week 8-2 so Mondays are the longest days for me.
My brother called me to see if I had a Michael Jackson nose or not and mentioned how hard it was going to be for Megan to miss the 1st week of Middle School. I hate to be reminded since I feel so guilty. Even I admit I am not 100% convinced she will not suffer missing the 1st week. We are going to spend a lot of time at the school trying to get acclimated but she is not the most flexible kid so I know she will suffer at least some by the TOAL, we are just trying to minimize the impact.

The TOAL will be worth it. She'll have great stories to tell and pictures too

You mean they actaully are supposed to come BEFORE the cruise? I got my Med one from my TA about 2 weeks after the cruise.

Hi Laura!!!! I did post a few times that we were going to WDW for a week, but you must have missed it . . . but at least one of the other pirates did fill you in. It was 7 days/6 nights but passed really quickly, in part because we did a split stay between the Poly and the BWI (for monorail vs. walking to Epcot and Studios convenience) and while I liked having the two resorts, I think it might have made the trip go by quicker . . . We had great weather, didn't get too hot until the weekend and no rain at all, no travel delays, etc., etc.

Love the monorail convenience Glad the weather cooperated

Andrew, did people really sleep on the decks to reserve space for the PC crossing in 2005
I had read in someone else's trip report that people were sleeping in the lobby in order to buy pins in the morning

Seems extreme to me and we love getting the pins

On the bottom of the cover letter it says Disney Cruise Liine Planning Calendar. Right below that it has 03-Jun-2008 Hassle Free Date: Shore Excursions, spa appointments, Palo Reservataions......blah blah blah

It was the date I noticed, not the lack of a CC#.

When you all get your planner, doulble check the date!
