Thanks. I fixed it. Looks like I transposed the 5 and 7. The 4 day price is $175.

I'm checking to see if we can get 5 day hoppers. I just posted the prices that were listed on the sign, so there may be more options that I don't know about. I'll let you know if I can get them.

Thanks for checking!:thumbsup2

Disneyland hours are now posted through August 16th. For every day of August through then, Disneyland is open 8 AM til midnight, and DCA is open 10 AM til 9 PM.

Welcome to the world of obscure publication! You can find me on such topics as Public Health Law for Terrorist Events and what the National Response Framework means to local attorneys. If anyone other than me has actually read those....

Ummmm, I wish I could say I did....but, CONGATULATIONS to you too! :)

good evening everyone! hope you all had a great day!
enjoy your friday....we have dd's swimming bday party...should be a busy day!

There’s always one in the bunch.

Next week(Wednesday -Friday) Tyreak will be heading to VA and NC on a college tour. They are going down on a charter bus, spending two nights in a nice hotel and will visit 7 HBCUs.

The best part? The trip is FREE. :yay: All of the schools have agreed to waive the application fees if the students fill out paper applications while they are on campus.

Well, tonight was parent/teacher conference night. I informed the dean, and academic AP about the trip. They were fine with it.

Five of his six teachers were also fine with the trip. They all said he could make up any missed work. (I did not request this). He will miss three exams during the trip. Two teachers will allow him to take the exams when he returns to school. (I did request this)

One teacher will not allow him to make up any missed work or the exam. She insisted that I should not allow him to attend the trip. She informed me that the days would be marked unexcused.
She said this isn’t a school rule, but a state/city rule that has been in place for the last 30 years and applies to both public and Catholic schools. (Tyreak attends a Catholic school)

I took this same trip with the same youth group when I was in high school. I never had a problem getting the days marked excused and being allowed to make up missed exams. This agency has been doing these trips since the early 80s. They’ve never had an issue with the kids (they attend public, private and Catholic schools) being marked unexcused or not being able to make up missed exams.

Tyreak and I both love this teacher. However, I was furious with her tonight. I can’t understand why she would have a problem with him missing school to go on a college tour.

I wonder how she feels about the track team missing two days next week to attend the Penn Relays?

Too funny....I was talking to my boss and a co-worker this week and he was asking me when my cruise was this summer. He had forgotten that we were going through the Panama canal. He said so you're going to start in LA, visit Disneyland and cruise for 15 nights and end up in Florida. He asked if I was going to DisneyWorld. When I told him not this time, he said, "Whew...for a minute there we thought you were a Disney fanatic".

I guess you forgot to mention the small bit of info - that the cruise is with DCL. :rotfl2:

That just stinks!!!

Will he miss school for TOAL? Wonder what kind of reaction that will get?

There are a number of possibilities:

- Schools don't get paid for absent students, so every absence costs them money.

- She's a power tripping bureacrat who believes she knows better than you what's good for your kid.

- She's an anal perfectionist who will always do what is in the "rules" rather than what is right.

Ah... there are probably dozens of other reasons all equally stupid, and all of which assume that somebody else knows better than you do.

I've met some wonderful, creative and flexible teachers over the years - but I have little respect for those who lose sight of what is truly best for their students, or assume that they have a monopoly on that judgement.

Yanno... maybe we can work out a deal... if ya want a little help distributing stuff ... maybe we could cut a contract ... or accord if ya will ... and we'll assist for the right price. How many Mickey Bars do ya have on ya? And if you'd be good enuf to ship me what ya wnat me to distribute - then this gives me a chance ta ebay yer stuff so as I can have more cruisin' moola to handle gratuities and excursions! What do ya say???

Probably need to check the fine print on the contract but we may be able to come to some sort of agreement ;)

Hey everybody - may be a day late but looks like DCL has assigned us a room - no more guarantee for us. Bad News? No upgrade - we are stuck on lowly deck 2 YET AGAIN - in a Cat 9 - oh well, at least I'm on here. And hopefully - DCL gets the notice for the 5-day and we get to stay in the same cabin this way we only have to disembark our bodies and not our luggage. We shall see.

OK - gotta get to bed - its late and I haven't been up this late since before I quit drinking caffeine! :scared1:

That's outrageous . . . perhaps the dean and academic AP could have a word with her?

Congrats on the room assignment . . . I know what you mean about being hopeful about staying in the same room . . . I have had a room assignment for the TOAL since the day of booking, but am GTY for the 5 night following. I know that my TA has put in a request asking that we have the same room for both cruises, but you never know . . .

The Pope will be delivering mass at a church one block from our apartment today at 6 PM . . . there are already police barricades and equipment all around the area and our block is one of the many which will be blocked off today. Security is very, very high. It's going to be an interesting evening, that is for sure!

G'mornin' pirate:s

So if I'm going to stay up for freeking double overtime, hte least the Caps could do was win the stupid game. grumblegrumble

We could all contact DCL by a schedule every 15 minutes!!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: Just tell me a time!!:thumbsup2

All we need is a task force chair and a spreadsheep.

There’s always one in the bunch.

That is truly annoying. Gee, too bad the kids wants to visit a bunch of colleges and apply to them for free. I t is really important that he sit in my class and complete a worksheet.

Welcome to steerage! You're in great company.

Yeah, DC has been more messed up than usual for the last 3 days too.
DH's office is a few block from Nationals stadium & he was allowed to work from home yesterday due to the Papal Mass.

Is anyone tailgating yet??

My kids were wondering where all the people at the stadium were going to go for doughnuts after Mass.
