Yep gets old fast doesn't it? ::yes::

Yeah! I have no clue how people do this all the time. My wood floors would hate the sn*w melting from our coats and hair. It was beautiful but one evening that I did not even have to leave the house is enough. Our satellite went out too. Must be the thick snow.

 , any hoot..this is becoming a :headache: !

..i still can't get through...x four. something about ..."the
host smip?"..sure hope it isn't a personal problem.....
{ i got enough..of them}

cos..i have no idea. oh sorry, about your washer woes...but
from what i hear about sears, that's a normal.

[ ours..is older than our middle son...the darn housing unit,
is beging to rust away..but i hate to threw it way..since it's
still washing....:rolleyes1 ]

dear mismce...i know how you feel....we almost lost one our rn
on the floor above.. [ i should stayed in all weekend]. i haven't
done..code nursing like ...forever. wants talk about idiots...they called
a medical emergency...the fire dept. brings the code stuff [ life packs &
such!] ..but guess what..they don't send the code nurses. that left
me & my co-workers....in a terrible blind...:scared: ....alll the help
we got..was the guys to hold up a blanket...while i carry out the
emergency procedures. . * they didn't even know enough to
turn the stupid things..on. so we started from scratch..figuring out
evety thing,,,,by memory...that was very outdated..., i asked ?
where the life pac 5? , later..to find out..its the life pack 20 [ shows
how long it been-:rolleyes1 ]. thanks God- ...... her
guardian  ..working overtime..or we wouldn't made it. yesterday,
we sneaked out to the icu [another hospital].. she goes.."i'm shocked..
my dr. told me i had a "mI"??" no crap..sweetie,,you should seen what
we were seeing... , ...then she commented..."i be back to work
this thursday"..... right!..but you got  ..the mentality of nurses.
,

...well, not even 5 minutes after that [ are you listening..mismce?] ,
we had a long-time...killer ..tried to kill ..the lpn....[ he always go
after the older women..]. so needless to say...that was alot of fun.
yes..its should be illegal....letting those use the system....to escape
..sometimes..discharge..right into..the community.., & then "they"
wonder why ....innocent people..are hurt.

now..getting to the funny story....( or @ least it was for us..after
things settle down)....one of the younger...workers...:rolleyes1
..was hollering for the aed???? * me & my co-worker...* remember..
we used to work ob, .....what in the heck!...would an iud do for
a code? ..then we realized..how "old"..we're really getting...:scared1:

..here's another funny...@ the icu unit...she told us...her cardiac dr.
..said..."your hospital code nurses did a great job..." ha!..we all
looked at each other..& :lmao: ..none us have worked in that
area ...for over 20 years. but the thing we didn't tell her..what made
the critical differnce...was her pts' helping..didn't want end up..having
ptsd..too. :scared:

sooo there you go..i was in `~deed..much younger..before this past
weekend...jus like you... sure glad..our cruise?..isn't it next week?
:flower3:

You are not a headache:headache: but I will tell you to just email me throught the dis Board. Just click on my name on the left and send a private message to me!!:thumbsup2 Send all the info including an e-mail address so I can contact you!:thumbsup2

My weekend just involved aggravation and not lives. Glad everything turned out okay!!!:flower3: It is all the ordeals of life that truly age us. I can tell you really love your job and how lucky people are to have you by their side.

My washer and dryer was 15 years old with never a problem and the one before that lasted 21 years. I guess I got money's worth out of them.:woohoo:

hi again everyone! i took the time to try to look thru some of the excursions being offered on our trip finally. boy....too many things to pick from! i really want us to be able to experience all the diff ports, so i guess some of the city tours look good. what is everyone else doing? i don't want to spend another bunch of money...but i want to say we saw the ports. any advice?

ok, enough of that stuff- sn*w is COLD!!!!
Good thing it will be gone tomorrow.

And remember the conversation that we had last week about the ice and germs, well I saw several articles in the last couple of days about s*** and bacteria. This one is from the New York Times.

March 4, 2008
Observatory
Prevalence of Bacteria in Making Snowflakes Is Seen as Widespread
By HENRY FOUNTAIN
Raindrops and snowflakes don’t just form by accident. They usually grow on tiny ice crystals, and unless it is supercold, the crystals have to grow on even tinier particles called ice nucleators.

Different particles like dust, soot and sulfate can be nucleators. Bacteria can do the job, too, particularly at temperatures closer to freezing (which is why some ski resorts add benign microbes to snowmaking water).

Scientists have known about bacteria’s role in ice nucleation for 40 years, but not how common it is. A study by Brent C. Christner of Louisiana State University and colleagues now shows that bacterial nucleators are everywhere.

The researchers took fresh snow samples at 19 locations around the globe, including Antarctica, and found DNA-containing cells in all of them. The amounts varied, with the fewest in Antarctica and most in samples from Montana and France. Experiments showed that at relatively warm temperatures as much as 85 percent of the ice nucleators in a sample were bacteria. The findings were reported in Science.

The researchers say the bacteria most probably is associated with plants. Further exploration of the role of microbes in ice formation and precipitation, they add, should aid in understanding how terrestrial vegetation may affect climate.

And you were worried about yellow snow.

Seeing this multiple places. Applies to the WB Carribeans too.

Only $85 more and they get the full $100 PC Tax?

That did not even require a math alert!!! :thumbsup2 Just a few less lobsters ought to do it!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Cheryl - I thought things like this only happen to me - but usually the manager doesn't greet me - they run from me. :rotfl2:

As for the free dinner part - the kids are always asking me if I'm going to get my dinner for free - I tell them its not about that - its about making certain the manager knows that the service they were selling didn't go over very well. If in saying this - I get fringe benefits, well then, that's a perk. I just want them to stick up for themselves............

hhhmmmmmm... maybe my plan is going awry - they tend to vent after we get home instead of during the dinner. Oh well, I see we will have to do this in baby steps. I guess that makes me an embarrassment to my kids - although that doesn't stop them from going out to dinner with us. So they are either cheap or fascinated by my actons. Probably a bit of both - more like wishful thinking on my part!

I have found the older I get...the less tolerant I am!!!:rolleyes1 If you let people walk on you.....some tend to take a big advantage!! It is not about the free dinner but the principle of what is right and just!!!:flower3:

When things go right or people go out of their way....I tend to give compliments to higher authorities :cloud9: but I also complain when things go wrong.:headache:

My children pay no attention to me....I learned to quietly get my position across with out even raising my voice.:)

Sounds like a VERY FRUSTRATING weekend of trying to give money. That was great that the manager gave you such good service----although it would have been nicer not to have to go back into the store. I'll be hoping for a smooth delivery:goodvibes

The delivery went smooth although the service guys for got to turn my gas back on!!!:rotfl:

I know this was mentioned in the last thread a bit but just wanted to note it again for those of you that missed it.

For those of you wanting to link your reservations together for dining
Do it after the 75 day mark passes

If the reservations are linked together and one person is in the reservation already another person on a different reservation will NOT be able to pull up theirs. This will really mess up anyone trying to book Palo, shore excursions, etc

As I said just reposting it for anyone that missed the information on the last thread

:goodvibes

I just talked to DCL Sunday afternoon. I am linked with several couples for months now. I was told thay everyone will be able to get into their own reservation...however....the entire list of people will show up when you try to book an excursion. Just make sure you unlick the unwanted or just click on the people you are trying to book for!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
A terrific CM named Jay(Jason) from the Castaway club told me this.:flower3:

I was also told DCL is fully aware fo the problems with booking for the WBPC. :rolleyes1 The IT department is trying to resolve some issues. He is just telling everyone to just be patient while the fish are swimming.:sad2: :sad2:

Is this the e-mail you were talking about?

*****Always remember that government fees and taxes can be changed at anytime***** Disney Cruise Line has just sent out this announcement and we wanted to make sure that
everyone knew........

I just didn't use any TA names or website addresses.

Hey Andy...we miss you over here.:sad1: :sad1: Thanks for all the news.:thumbsup2 Did you ever feel that the world is against you.......or just Disney Cruise Lines.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And you were worried about yellow snow.

So I guess I should be happier in a cold climate.....NOT!!!!!

I hope he is right - when I went in to check a clients reservation today it came back with a message that I could not access it because someone else was looking at that or a linked reservation, DCL was looking at a linked reservation.

I would suggest that you give it a trial run, someone you are linked with and yourself should each try to pull up your own reservation at the same time and see if you are able to. Maybe I received the error because DCL was looking at one of the reservations and may work differently if it is individuals pulling them up??

Hi all. I've been watching this and the prior thread on and off for the last couple of weeks. It's hard to keep up, but I saw the news on Colombia today and the state department warnings. Has the safety of this port been discussed before on these threads? If so, does someone have a link to it?

Here's the link to the state department warning in February 2008, before today's news about the conflict with Ecuador and Venezuala.

http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_941.html

I'm not sure I want to get off the boat here even if things improve. Even the Disney tours seem to involve 15 to 30 minutes of shopping alone.

I'll try to keep up more as I'd like to join in and get to know everyone better.

Thanks!

We've discussed it off and on. The consensus is that if DCL keeps the stop in Columbia it will be best to go on a DCL organized tour rather than booking your own tour. There has been no comment from DCL regarding the port.

We did discuss it a little but we keep thinking DCL will keep us out of harms way!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I might evaluate the situation as time gets closer.:flower3: :flower3:

observations?

* oh, just want to make sure it understood, if the swabbies..get sick
--they're on their own..but now if the wenches...are in need, i'll

Can we still see thread #3? I was not on the last couple of days and I want to see if I missed anything.
Happy thread # 4 everyone!!!

Coral

Yes, same bat time, same bat channel.....

Only problem is you can't quote from it unless you cut and paste back and forth.
I was wondering where the quotes went to and then saw that Lisa shut down the thread.

We had a great time at the Pirate and Princess party last August! i hope you guys will too!

If I remember what the linear combination method is:

The 3X and -3X should cancel out, the -Y + 4Y would be 3Y, and 14-6+8, so you get the equation 3Y = 8, which means Y = 8/3.

Let me know if that's right.

See next post for the rest!

MATH ALERT!!!!!!! You must post an alert before you send my brain spinning. Intermediate algebra, 3 tutors and passed by the skin of my teeth.:lmao:

I'm in trouble. None of that made any sense to me. :sad2:

Ditto

OK. There's some stuff like that around at the hotel gift shops. While I'm taking a walk with the pedometer for Arlene, I'll try to snap some pics of the gift shops. Hopefully they won't think I'm a terrorist.

Thanks Monica. :thumbsup2

How come we didn't see Cheryl in there?????:confused3 Anyone who has met her will agree she would be perfect for the job.

Pete!!!! I am in AWE!!!!!! You are truly gifted.

Took a while to catch up. later............

Ummmm, what happened to Andy? Why does it appear to me that he isn't going anymore and why is DCL against him?

I was afraid to ask, I don't want to open any old wounds, but I am sad that he isn't going anymore. Seems like a neat family!

There are no old wounds but glad you are concerned. :goodvibes Andy just found our cruise conflicts with his daughter Angelina starting school next fall. :sad2: He seems very nice and I am disappointed he is not traveling with us. He will spread his Magic on another cruise this year.:flower3: He does manage to visit us over here a little.:thumbsup2

I was not implying DCL was against him but just all of us trying to make this trip.:sad2: I was referring to the new Mexico Port tax imposed on this trip as well as many other cruises. DCL was very generous to not add the new $100 per person PC tax but now we get hit with a new Mexico Port Tax.:rolleyes1
Seems like we all just can't win!!

Hey Mike - these are for you. Anything to post pictures and yes - before you ask - the figurines are not attached to the base which kinda sucks when you get a hyper-active dog running around the house -

Here is Pluto with a frisbee in his mouth - I was trying out the super macro on the 770SW

P3030127.jpg

Here is the base:

And last but not least:

P3030123.jpg

Here are some others - sorry for the big posts - just in case there are any others out there that are as obsessive as I am.

Goofy's Beach Ball: (taken with low light mode - this mode is very sensitive to shaking so beware if anyone uses this mode. )

Minnie detachable:

Mickey Detachable:

And Last but not Least: Goofy - who suffered a fainting spell :faint: shortly after the picture was taken - I think the flash scared him. Well it was that or the rumba behind it. :rotfl2:

Just being a bit nostalgic but here's some close-ups of the Med Big Fig. I got it on the repo for 1/2 off orig price. But by the time you add on the $50 shipping charge (per Big Fig - do multiple discounts) it was just about the orig price. Oh well, I was the :headache: who bought it - BTW, this one came in 8 weeks. Its sister got delayed - must be the Bahamaian mail service. Finally made it to WDW on Friday and to me today, Monday.

Anyway, close-up of the Med Label on the big fig. If you look at the next picture you can see the real size of it:

P3030121.jpg

And the whole think - I left some of the foam on it to protect it - I got kids and a nephew who loves to touch all things breakable. Lil Taz is my nickname for him.

P3030122.jpg

Anyway, thanks all for bearing with me. OK done posting pix for now.

(I think)

I want one!!!!!! :sad1: How cute!!!!!!:cheer2:

Cheryl - its cute but I don't know about the 8 month wait for it - unless its living and breathing anything more than 2 months is too long - I could have bought me a lot of clothes for that price! :lmao:
