Just back from the doctor and a short wait (20 mins...not bad at all) at the pharmacy.
It's bronchial pneumonia. He would have liked to have admitted me, but I whined enough that he let me go home.
Antibiotics, cough syrup and an inhaler. Have to check back in with him on Monday...hopefully with good signs of improvement.

Hope you feel better Stace. Sorry your missed the meet but glad you got your medicine. :flower3:

So far.....

We went to see Horton Hears a Who tonight. Absolutely adorable! Way better than I expected (I have been saying that a lot lately about movies).
Just struck me tonight that it is around $100.00 for the 4 of us to go out to dinner - moderate place like Chili's- and a movie with a few snacks thrown in, and we do this every week. When I was growing it was so different. We did not have the money for eating out and movies. It was a real treat when we did.
Along the same line. Tonight we went into a store called "The Walking Store". My intent was to try on a pair of Tevas to make sure the size I needed. I saw some on SierraTradingPost.com for $40.00 but they were not the color I wanted, but to save $40.00 I was going to buy them anyway. Well after I tried on the ones in their store that were the color I really wanted, I caught myself rethinking my thrifty ways. After we got in the car I was mentally calculating the small amount of time I would have to work to make up for the ones I wanted and sure enough, I am going to go back tomorrow and buy them. My Grandparents in the depression, and my childhood upbringing would think me absolutely frivolous and irresponsible.
Strange when I think about it.
Maybe too maybe warm Toll House Cookies after the movie. ;)

I am a wimp on movies. I am strictly a "feel good" kind of movie girl. Also, most movies we go to the girls go to as well so that is somewhat limiting. :)
Off to bed we go. We have to sneak in naps while the blind geriatic dachsund is sleeping. That "Little dude" can make some serious noise at night. I keep reminding myself there are only 2 more days before my parents come back and we can all get a good nights sleep again.:)

oooh that stinks Stace.

I had something just like that last January (07). It took me 3 weeks... 2 courses of heavy duty antibiotics, (the second ones were so pricey they made me pay a double co-pay even), throat spray, an inhaler (and that was the first time in my life i ever "really" needed one), and two cough medicines later to finally stop wheezing.

It was so bad one night when i was out with my friends that i almost told them to take me to the emergency room because i couldn't get enough air.

Luckily it was only 3 weeks otherwise they would have held up my surgery. (i did have to get follow up chest xray clearances though.)

While it's not contagious...it's probably better that you did stay home to rest.

My loving son is still giving me a hard time about canceling Disneyland. I think I'll show him your post so he can see how serious this is. Thanks!

Looks like the gang had nice weather in CA so far. It was warm here today....80°....but the wind kicked up something fierce this afternoon and we're supposed to get some rain by Sunday. I hope that doesn't mean California will get it tomorrow. :sad2:

DD Jordan went to see "Horton" tonight. Waiting for her to get home so I can hear the review. popcorn::

i'm just...tickle.... :rainbow: , for your colorful tags, :thumbsup2

funny, it made me realized...4/5 of our cruises..we had a table by
ourselves...[ i'm blaming it on my wife's relatives...you seen them

Congrats Cheryl!

I'm sooooo Jealous!

I've got some 8,000 postings and only ONE tag fairy thingy.

Oh well... I'm in San Diego - just had a nice supper with BIL and family. Thier hotel is very chic - it's like a W only a little more hip if ya ask me. And I love thier room - but not the so called $400 a nite tab. It's called the Ivy - and if ya fon't mind the tab- it's well worth the time to stay - not to mention it's well sited in the Gaslamp district.

Ou hotel - the La Jolla Shores (is that what its' called) is a nice little place - well appointed however it has exterior corridors. The staff are quite nice though.... and the room is definately cozy.

SO this evening the kids ran amok together - cousins - they are very cozy together.

Anyways - Alicia is on Augmiten (misspelled) and shes nominally wacked. Kalea is now on Omnicef - and shes' soldiering on with incredible energy. Julianna is free of her fever and the cough is fading rapidly now - however her energy and spirit is only half recovered. As for me - I'm OK... no symptomns and OK after a longish drive south. There was little to ZERO traffic much of the way so it was amazingly breezy.

Hope everyone is doing well and ready for the weekend, tomorrow is legoland fer us.

Cheers - while I read backwards to catch up a bit...;)

:goodvibes , ps, micmse "fancy pants"....does this means..the
first rum cakes...on you? pirate:

I went ahead and asked on the thread to see if she can provide the source for the info to confirm it. I thought the same thing yesterday when I read it, but just assumed I hadn't seen an updated entertainment list yet.

At the moment I would take that 'post' on the other thread as 'unconfirmed', DCL do not usually advertise this in advance, and I read someone elses thread saying he wasnt around at that time and had other commitments, it would be great if Don is on our cruise.

Well, the :tinker: has bestowed one of her/his highest favors on you - that is REALLY AWESOME! I always thought that was the best line - do we dare hope that ROGER - the NUTMEG man got one too?

Congrats Cheryl! :dance3:

Strange when I think about it.

:sad2: :sad2: I'm not allowed in that store until Aug or Sept when the new Ugg boots come in. DH said I "overspent" my next 2 Christmas Gifts in there. I did not even make it beyond the Ugg display although I did manage to buy some blister free socks for the youngest one there. I wanted to try the sandals from Tevas but looks like I will have to wait.

Coral, I used be "thrifty" and try and save some bucks on MY feet - never compromised on the kids - but as I neared my 40's I realized that my feet have to stand up too and probably longer than anything the kids did - so about 2 years ago - I decided - if the shoe fit - AND was comfortable - I would buy them. Although many times I have to seriously consider it overnight and then I too go back and spend the money. Rockports are a standard in my closet although I recently discovered Avia for woman which seems to fit my foot a bit better for working out - but for walking - Rockport sweats my tooties!

Don't feel bad - you should never compromise on yourself - sides - after you get back from those walks your feet will :lovestruc you all the more!

Good luck - you must post pictures on here - as DD says - a girl can never have enough jeans and shoes in her closet. :thumbsup2
