Just back from the doctor and a short wait (20 mins...not bad at all) at the pharmacy.
It's bronchial pneumonia. He would have liked to have admitted me, but I whined enough that he let me go home.
Antibiotics, cough syrup and an inhaler. Have to check back in with him on Monday...hopefully with good signs of improvement.

I wish you a speedy recovery Stace,

All gates are again a short walk,

11 hours later I will be in LAX, and transferring to Disneyland, whilst my luggage enjoys a world tour of China, Australia, South Africa....

Supposedly my BA flight from ORD to LHR on 3/28 will be landing in Terminal 4. but our hop from LHR to Charles DeGaulle will be from T5, so that will be a new experience. (As well as trying to shepherd three children off to Terminal 5 after an eight hour overnight flight.)

If you see a harried American family still wandering around Heathrow when you come next September, stop and say hi.

Well Arlene...

... Thank You kindly for the supportive thoughts... however, the time has come for my spouse to call in sick tomorrow - and that's NOT because shes' gonna play hookie to skate to San Diego - mind you - it's because she IS still sick. In fact - she has a 10AM appointment with a doc to most likely get medication(s)... and Kalea is scheduled to see her doc tomorrow at 9:30 for the same reason. Now - Kalea is exhibiting tremendous attitude and has been very energetic in spire of her fever - and she's an angle about taking her medication.

Oh well... you and Alicia were CORRECT to wait until now to see a doc to determine if meds are necessary. Time had to be spent to let a suspected illness run its' course... and if Viral then it would have faded yesterday - and with cerainty we'll see if its' around tomorrow, eh?

So, Julianna is free of her fever as of this morning - however she is still coughing. Her sniffles seem to have mostly dried up today though... and I am generally 80% of normal - I feel a bit fatigued - but otherwiseam NOT ill.

Oh well... at least there is good expectation Julianna and I will be able to hang with my BIL and his kids tomorrow and for the weekend. Alicia has already said she cannot last a day at Legoland - so for now she is not planning on going - but will rest at the hotel. Fortunately, we have a nice hotel in La Jolla for her - and it should serve well for saturday.

Glad everyone is going to the Dr.There is a lot of bad stuff out there. Just today the Orlando Sentinel wrote 2 cases of Legionaires confirmed . 2 travelers in a hotel tested positive. Bad thing is the symptoms are the same as the flu:scared1:

Well, we WOULD have been there already. Instead I'M sitting here waiting to go see the doctor.

I can see now that these trip reports are going to kill me.

HAVE FUN GUYS!! I still want to hear all about it!
:grouphug:

Thank you

I herd one like this on the radio, a man was sent by his girlfriend to the pharmacy, and he asked the assistant for some Tamp-oons, the lady serving him shouted out, this man wants some Tamp-ooons, do we stock them,? Some people just love to embarrass you.

Yes that Asst Mgr was relentless. He never bothered the girls just the guys.

Take care of yourself Stace. My DGS has Bronchitis and ear infection and has an inhaler.DD said his cough was lingering for a few days and decided to take him. Glad she did.

Yes a few still go to T4, they are at opposite ends of the airport, but there is transport links between the two.

All BA flights but a few code shares to some far flung places will ultimately leave from T5, but it's phased over a period of about 6 months, at which point they can start on the remaining Heathrow redevelopment

Celestine

Yes you can. I reserved "Super Shuttle" in Dallas last year and had to cancel when plans changed. They refunded my money the day I cancelled back to my credit card. I was able to do the whole process on-line (book and then cancel).

Thank you. Just wanted someone to confirm for me.
I still have not decided whether to use SS or the Pronto, or another limo service.

I am sorry everyone is still sick. I feel like I have not been 100% until about a week after Thanksgiving.

Just checking out a few things o the main board & the thread about WB repo entertainment has a poster stating that Don Ducky Williams will be on the EB repo - has anyone else heard this or had it confirmed?

I hope so. I would love to meet him .

That's an achievement - I take it your pavements are not as uneven as the ones around here!
Well they do go up and down like the sea.

I haven't seen it confirmed but he was on the last one in 2005, and we checked in next to him in the non residents queue, I think he is Canadian?

It would be great if he is. But I havent seen anything to confirm that posters comments , only the one person has said that.

Sorry to hear this Stace. But I'm glad that you stayed home and went to the doctor. Get better soon!

I went ahead and asked on the thread to see if she can provide the source for the info to confirm it. I thought the same thing yesterday when I read it, but just assumed I hadn't seen an updated entertainment list yet.

oooh that stinks Stace.

I had something just like that last January (07). It took me 3 weeks... 2 courses of heavy duty antibiotics, (the second ones were so pricey they made me pay a double co-pay even), throat spray, an inhaler (and that was the first time in my life i ever "really" needed one), and two cough medicines later to finally stop wheezing.

It was so bad one night when i was out with my friends that i almost told them to take me to the emergency room because i couldn't get enough air.

Luckily it was only 3 weeks otherwise they would have held up my surgery. (i did have to get follow up chest xray clearances though.)

While it's not contagious...it's probably better that you did stay home to rest.

We spent the evening at DD's school at a fundraiser- Auction and such. Fortunately or unfortunately- depending on how you look at it- I won everything I bid on.
We ended up with Pizza lunch w/ Miranda's teacher and a friend, Miranda's name on the school marqee during her b-day month of Sept, notecards made by her 2nd grade class. Megan got a middle school pack w/ 2 school t-shirts and a gym bag, a big sundae kit w/bowls, ice cream fixins, coupon for ice cream cake, scooper and a really cool ice cream lazy susan etc., and the big thing of the night which was Megan having lunch with the mayor of our city! She got a really cool city gift pack and the mayor will come to her school and have lunch w/ her. That should make her feel very special. (Hope it works, she needs the ego boost).
WOW, I never get what I bid on. The lunches sound like fun:thumbsup2 I did buy a ton of magazines last year so Andrew could win a lunch pizza party in a hummer limo:rolleyes:

Thanks for the birthday greetings for Robert, I'll be sure to pass them along when he gets home from work shortly.

I'll talk to you in a couple of weeks.

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!
Give Nothing Back:thumbsup2 Hope you have a great trip:banana:

My best "constitution" inducing product ;) is Light Lays. They have Olean in them and after a few of those - no more problems ;) .
Or if all else fails- use Alli or get a script for Meridia. I heard if you take Meridia and eat Mexican food - just have your food delivered to the restroom.
I can't believe I am even posting this. :rotfl:
:lmao: Thanks, good to know there are options;)

I had no idea Walt Disney discovered the Osmonds.
They said the 4 older boys went to try out for Lawrence Welk show (my childhood favorite) and could not get in so their Dad took them to Disneyland. They were on Main Street and Dapper Dans was doing a quartet and they said "You are 4 guys, are you a quartet?" The Osmonds said "sure" and sang for them. Someone was so impressed they went and got Walt Disney himself out of his office to hear them and just like that " The Osmonds!
Cool I didn't know that. I used to watch the Donny and Marie show as a kid:upsidedow

Oh my DH loves to mimic this comic that used to say how he didn't mind going to the store to purchase feminine products because it showed everyone that he had a woman:rolleyes: The comic would pretend to hold up a box and yell "I've got a woman !!!".

Really more embarrassing for the woman:headache: ;)

Took Lauren to the hospital on Monday for an opthalmic consult as she has lost a vast quantity of eyelashes:scared1: Besides needing glasses, she has been diagnosed with alopecia for which there is no treatment:confused3 & she'll just have to wait for them to grow back of their own accord, which may be 6 month, 12 months or longer!
Celestine
Just her eyelashes:confused3 Sure it isn't OCD (trichtatillomania) ? My DD pulled out all her eyelashes when she was in kindergarten. It is a form of OCD where the person doesn't realize what they are doing. Luckily my DD outgrew it and her eyelashes grew back. It varies how long it takes for them to grow back. A little bit of eye liner might help in the mean time:hug:

You'll rest better at home:thumbsup2 Make sure you rest and let others take care of you:hug:
