Do they really say Samoas on the box or do you just call them that, because that's what they used to be called? Much like MGM Studios? I ask because they used be called Samoas here, but now they say Caramel Delites. Is it a regional thing?

They say Samoas. Samoas are made by the Little Brownie Bakery in Louisville, KY. Caramel DeLites are made by ABC Bakers in Richmond, VA.

Apparently the names are different depending on the baker:

Caramel deLites (ABC) : Samoas (LBB)
Peanut Butter Patties (ABC) : Tagalongs (LBB)
Shortbread (ABC) : Trefoils (LBB)
Thin Mints (ABC) : Thin Mints (LBB)
Peanut Butter Sandwich (ABC) : Do-Si-Do's (LBB)

Lemonades (ABC)
Cinna-Spins (ABC)
Thanks-A-Lot (ABC)

All-Abouts (LBB)
Sugar Free Chocolate Chips (LBB)
Lemon Chalet Cremes (LBB)

More than you wanted to know about GS Cookies.

Ah thank you! That explains a lot. I guess I could've just googled it myself! :goodvibes

Since the 19th is my birthday (40th to boot), I think I should get to go first!:) :rotfl2:

Um sure we'll all hold off for a minute or two! :rotfl2:

That's good. I did think it was odd as gout mostly affects men. I guess I'll suffer alone now.

Everybody needs to keep quoting this the rest of the day just to remind Tom...

I think you're doing a great job on your own!

ok, I'll admit, I didn't pay attention in science......someone help me out here

saw Crash's post, now I get it

Well when it comes to chemistry I'm lost but going by the comic strip I'd say that SN would be the chemical compound of tin? :confused3

Okay never mind...I see you got it!

The funny thing is that we live in Ventura county but work in Los Angeles county. For some reason we buy our cookies from ABC while LA has LBB cookies. So when we take our cookies into work they all think that they are come counterfeit GS cookies. I have to explain the above all day long.

I asked Geoff and SN is the chemical name for tin..

I don't have a science brain. The only thing that saved me in HS chemistry was my freakish ability to memorize random stuff - like the periodic table. I still remember way more than I should.

It's an Easter tradition in my household that the girls all get Peeps for Easter, even though they don't like them, just so we can blow them up in the microwave. It's strangely satisfying . . .

We have an annual East massacre. We all bite the heads off the chocolate bunnies and put them back in our baskets.

Sadly, DH & DS have tried throwing a peep into a fire (BBQ grill when roasting marshmallows). It is a very, very sad sight :sad1: :sad2: DH is nuts about peeps and inhales them whenever he gets a box. DS also likes them and has learned to hide his or put notes on them like "Dad- don't touch!". :rotfl2:

YES! I so totally agree. :rotfl2: The Mac dude has annoyed me from the start! I don't think it is just my anti-apple bias - that character is just slimy feeling.....

I'm probably totally uncool here - but I don't like Apple. The proprietary everything, locked into just them and will do anything to keep other vendors out just really bugs me. DH won an iPod shuffle a few weeks ago (after I gave him 1 for Xmas - he doesn't have my bias!) so he convinced me to try it. I admit that it is a nicely designed piece of hardware but it is driving me nuts having to use iTunes to put anything on it. It drives me even more nuts that it has to be 1 particular copy of iTunes on a particular PC - I can't be the only person who would like to put stuff on it both at home and at work.... For my old MP3 player, I just plug it in and copy files to it like any other drive - straight forward and portable!

Pamela

Amen to that. I hate itunes. When DS switched computers, I took out the boot disk etc to change the computer location. It seemed to work but the darn thing erased everything from the shuffle. Now when I need to download I send it to DHs computer as it is impossible to get this one to recognize my shuffle. What a pain.
I love my Zune but hate their interface. The original interface was ok but this upgrade is the pits. I don't have a problem with the movies or podcasts, but the music confounds me. Somehow I do persevere and get the new tunes on it.Why do they have to make it so hard???? DHs sansa works off Windows Media and is a cinch.:confused3

We have a blizzard warning through tomorrow. I am so sick of this. We could get up to 14". DH has shoveled the driveway twice today already. Our city is under a level 2 snow emergency. Driving is not recommended. A lot of the cities have run out of salt for the roads.

Only 5 months until our cruise, only 5 months until our cruise, only 5 months until our cruise. That is my mantra. 90 degree weather sounds wonderful right now.

Terri stay warm and safe. Presently around 77F at Disneyland. :cool1:

Have you ever thrown a marshmallow into a fire? Must try that with a peep, too....I am scaring myself.

Stick a firecracker in it before you do. (otherwise you're just wasting a Peep):thumbsup2

My nephews look forward to my pyro antics. I haven't had the "Roman Candle wars are bad" discussion with them yet.

We're riding it out too...They're expecting us to challenge for the alltime record snowfall total in a 24 hour period.
