We may here a lot of this...."Heeyyyyyyyy..................you!"

I'll be like this- heyyy you're from dis right?
:rotfl:
You think I'm kidding but I'm so bad on names. I think probably the only persn I'll remember name is Stacey and that's only because I met her once in real life already PLUS have seen many photos of her (thanks to Tom's graphics- heyy.. scratch that i"ll be able to know tom- same reason... seen his name a lot plus lots of pictures of him and his family! Wow 2 people I'll be able to know and remember their names! I'll be doing good).

I'm really really bad on names. And if I do remember- it will be by usernames since I see that the most and know most of you by that, matching it to the FACE will still be hard though.

so hey you........ you're from dis right? -hope that won't offend anyone. LOL
(ps you can call me bip and I won't get upset) LOL

And here I thought the plan was to greet each other like this, "Hey Swabbie!" pirate: "Hello Wench" princess: Now you're telling me that I might actually have to know and remember everyone's names :scared1: Shoot, I have a hard enough time in my house with DH, 2 DS's, the 2 dogs and the 3 cats :sad2: Who's going to form a committee to come up with cliff notes

M, I got this one......TASK FORCE!

Gosh, thanks for that bit of sunshine! LOL!

That's my other nickname "ray" as in ray of sunshine.

Actually, on last cruise, even our deck 5 SPH window had lots of spray in the am one morning after a night of rough seas.

Usually DC is a bit warmer this time of the year.

Not really..... especially in the AM. The first year i moved down (6 yrs ago) i was still scraping frost off my windshield in April although our afternoons were fairly warm.

Ummmmm.... has anyone read my signature below?

Well couldn't use just try on the speedo ahead of time then.... and have your SWMBO make you stay home?

OMG you're kidding me.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME that we did not just spend a small fortune for all 5 of us to get passports,

Actually Shelley, we need them for Columbia anyway..... SO no you didn't waste them.....

I did waste $$$ as i purchased for my dd but she's gotten herself in so much trouble that now she couldn't possibly earn the trip back. (so that's $115 wasted on the passport (photo was extra) and almost $200 wasted on her airfare to LA.

BTW... Many of us are strapped for $$ right now and re-thinking the TOAL. I may need to find new tablemates for myself even as Caroline seems to be wavering too at the moment.

Note to self: find back-up family that needs weird aunt Kris and uncle Andy to dine with.

BTW i may be entertaining applications for third and fourth bunks in my cabin to partially subsidise the trip.

It's amazing how your whole day can turn on a dime ... was awakened this morning by DH, who came home from work early and woke up our oldest DS at 5:30 am, why would Dear ole Dad do this to said child you ask ... why because it's OPENING DAY and the Red Sox game was televised starting at 6:00. I suppose it's a lot worse for those Oakland A's fans ... those poor folks had to wake up in the middle of the night

Before he left for school ... my youngest shared a joke with me ... "Mom, what kind of rat likes pie?"

wait for it

wait

just a second longer

"Why a PIErat pirate: of course" ;) :lmao:

When I got to work I was grinning from ear to ear ... first at my DH and DS and their unfailing loyalty to their ball club ... then the Pirate joke from my youngest. Just had my Mom-heart full today ... then I checked the home email. This is where it all gets dumped into the potty ... I got an email from the company that I've been interviewing with ... and I didn't make it to the next round of interviews :sad1: Got the standard line that my qualifications were impressive, blah, blah, blah ... I work in HR, and I've written many of those letters over the past 13/14 years and they all boil down to one thing L O S E R :sad2:

So, anyone out there want to pull up a chair and enjoy some cheese with my whine this morning :confused3 I hate interviewing ... but I hate my current job more ... so I'm back to sending out gazillions of resumes :sad2:

Did you see the bars that were mobbed in Boston at 6am? Of course they were serving breakfast instead of beer & hotdogs, but that's what you call loyal fans!

DD (13) set her alarm for 5:40am to get up & watch. I thought, "ya right, you'll never do it!" True to her word she was up watching when I went downstairs at 7 to get them off to school. Crazy! :sad2:

Sorry you didn't get the job you want, but you are not a loser! You'll get something! :wizard:

And here I thought the plan was to greet each other like this, "Hey Swabbie!" pirate: "Hello Wench" princess: Now you're telling me that I might actually have to know and remember everyone's names :scared1: Shoot, I have a hard enough time in my house with DH, 2 DS's, the 2 dogs and the 3 cats :sad2: Who's going to form a committee to come up with cliff notes
LOL I hear you.. i keep calling the new parakeet by the old parakeet name. In my defense- the first one we had longer obviously and I liked the name better (first one was Kokomo... new parakeet is Tiki-bird- I keep calling him Kokomo- confused bird probably LOL)

Bip.............you still needed the passpost for the EBPC because of the stop in Columbia!!! I just sure hope you will make it!!!
thanks- just found that out and feel better about this now. LOL

well we're still not POSITIVE that eldest DD will get to go. Long story why... but things gotta change if she wants to go. I really don't want to go without her though since we've waited on this cruise for 2yrs (no other summer trips/etc. in the meantime) and doubtful we'll ever do a cruise this long again- and probably not again AT ALL before she's 18... so we'll see. I'm hoping she earns the trip because I'd rather not go without her!

Hmm, entertaining applications huh. Can they actually SLEEP on those bunks or in name only? hahaha

Who sneezed on their computer? Was it your M or Roger or maybe Crash. It seems I finally caught whatever it is that is going around. My grandson was sick last week and DH was sick this weekend, so Easter Sunday it was my turn. I am finally feeling a little better this afternoon. Hope the rest of you are getting better. And Coral glad to hear things went well with you.

I have never been good with names either. So I just smile and nod.

Sorry you're not feeling well!

I think DH would be thrilled if I backed out of this cruise. He is just not as thrilled about going as I am, especially when it comes to the final cost, but he also knows that it would be a cold day below before that ever happened.

Obviously back from surgery.
The 1st "scoop" they took apparantly got clean margins so we went off to the plastic surgeon. After much discussion about the best way to repair the crater on the side of my nose- they came up w/ creating a "flap" from my cheek instead of the skin graf. The residents thought a skin graf but the plastic surgeon said that was the worst thing to do in this circumstace. His explanation made no sense to me, so I just went with it.
I know have 31 stitches on my face and will require another surgery to do the 2nd part. Stitches come out already on Friday. That was earlier than I thought. The 2nd surgery will be in a few weeks. From what I understand it will be worse in the short run and better long term. Since I work from home, it allowed this method.
The weird/sad part is I was the youngest patient by 2 generations there yesterday. All of the companions were my Mom's age but they were there for their parents and my Mom was there for her daughter. He Dr. said I was the youngest patient he would have all week. Lucky me!:sad2:
Anyway, at least that part is over and was not that bad. Even with 31 stitches I have not taken any pain pills.

Glad everything seems to have went well. Hang in there.

Well aren't you all fancy??

So, I have to silently chuckle at all the speedo references. DH actually owns more than one! No, he doesn't wear them to the beach, but he did swim in HS and college & runs triathlons.

Now he says he is saving them for when the kids are STs and he can totally embarass them by showing up at the neighborhood pool party.

My DH wears a speedo under his wet suit for scuba diving. He too has threatened the children with embarassing them. For Lisa's 13 Birthday Party we were going to Blizzard Beach with some of her friends. Jim walked out before they arrived in his Speedo and told Lisa he was ready to go to the park. :scared1: Lisa was mortified until he assured he was kidding and went and changed into his "board short" swim suit. She was VERY releived.

Of course, herein lies a major problem for this cruise.... WHO IS EVERYONE?

Are you M&M's Mom, Marlene, Coral? I'm challenged for names on the best of days, now everyone has multiple names....

I hope no one is offended when I:
  1. Check cheat sheet
  2. Call you by your DIS screen name
  3. Stare blankly as I think "name... name.... darn it, why can't I remember names"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We all need to walk around with our screen name and signature pics tattooed to our foreheads or something.

Hmm, entertaining applications huh. Can they actually SLEEP on those bunks or in name only? hahaha

Oh we're ok on the sleeping (well as long as they don't snore) i call top two drawers....

but he also knows that it would be a cold day below before that ever happened.

SO you want dibs on the bottom bunk then?

Just don't call me "Buck-E-fan".....it's "Buck-I-fan". And I'm good with that.

Last cruise, many folks read my userID as the former, like I'm a big fan of Hee-Haw or something.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.....:)

Okay now I GOTTA remember to call you bucky
LOL

LOL

Uh-oh, maybe I shouldn't have said anything......:rotfl:

Actually, it didn't bother me.....I just thought it was funny they read it that way since I have always had Ohio State graphics in my sig and an Ohio State avatar. Just can't imagine how everyone doesn't know about The Ohio State Buckeyes! ;) :goodvibes

OMG you're kidding me.

DEEP BREATH BIP!
You did not just spend a fortune on passports you don't need.
You need them.

We've seen the track coach's in High School "recruiting" ex-gymnasts for many of the field events. Apparently the girls can easily transition to the Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump, etc very easily. A girl who Lisa used to train with is a Senior and decided to "try" track for the fun of it. She was recently featured in our local newspaper as the Athlete of the Week. She currently holds the Long Jump and the Triple Jump County Records. We talked with her and she said she found it ironic that she was named Athlete of the Week for a sport she had spent 3 weeks in and ignored for a sport she spent 10+ years in.

Figure skaters too. I was the only girl in middle school track who could high jump above my height. The problem was I was 5' tall! I was pretty good at long jump too. One of my skating friends broke her HS's long jump record...when she showed up for a track clinic in 8th grade!

M, I got this one......TASK FORCE!

:goodvibes
