Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome! I'm excited to be here.

That's good (I think!). At least the kids won't be bored!

Are any of the other kids going to miss school for this cruise? School here starts on Monday, August 25, so my kids will miss the first week. I was dreading having to tell the principal, but she was great about it and said that they won't miss much that first week (which I already knew). Of course, now I'm thinking about spending the day at WDW when we get back to FL and flying home on 9/2. DD turns 4 on 9/1, and I don't know that she'll ever have the opportunity to spend her birthday at the Magic Kingdom again. What's one more day of missed school? :confused3

Our kids will be missing the first week and a half of school. :scared1: They were only supposed to miss a half week, but the school district decided to start a week early next year. Of all years...

My Kiddos love Ace of Cakes on the Food Network. Duff, Mary Alice, and Geoff ae going to be in Anaheim on 8/16!!!! Now we know what we will be doing pre-cruise!

~Ingrid

We're also huge Ace of Cake fans. My DW makes cakes for friends and family. I even bought her a "Charm City Cakes" shirt for Christmas. If we have to choose between our first trip to DL and seeing Duff, well, I'm not sure what my DW will want to do.... We may be visting Anaheim a day earlier to get in our DL.

...no...no...

So isnt it a bank holiday in USA???

As I work in a bank, unfortunately, not. Good Friday was also not a bank holiday. September starts our run of 6 months in a row with at least one holiday, we skip March, April, June and August.

Hope everyone had a great Easter. Hopefully the stores will have some chocolate on sale. I always wait til after the major chocolate holidays to stock up. Have a great day everyone.

As someone who went out around 8:00 p.m. the night before Easter, I can say that Target and Wal-mart had absolutely no Easter candy left..

KSDisneyDad, I am so sorry to hear this..........I am still fighting my ankle/foot pain too. I am in the same boat (haha) as you. I have not been able to walk nor run for over 2 weeks now. I am going stir crazy. After carving out time to run 5 - 6 miles every other day, now nothing, I feel like such a slug. I am still eating basically nothing and have gained a pound or two - YIKES! I go back to the orthopedic tomorrow, hopefully he will have some more answers???

Take care of yourself and get well SOON!!

Finally got my blood work back and the doctor has put me on a daily preventative medicine (allopurinol). I can't start taking it until my current flare-up has completely receded, but was told that this should prevent flare-ups altogether. This was great news as I can now get back into some sort of regular exercise program.:cool1:

Got an email today that the Olympus has been shipped. I guess we'll test it in the tub until our community pool opens;)

I really liked the blue Olympus, but with all the local stores totally out of the old waterproof ones, I figured I should just go ahead and buy the silver 770online:confused3
Now I have to make sure I label it so we can tell it apart from everyone else's:lmao:

We're so jealous of all you 770 and 790 owners! After telling DW about it, we've been watching the prices carefully. So far, the best price I can find on-line is around $225, but only from websites I've not heard of such as Digital Megastore. Has anyone purchased the 850? I can get it for $250 from a website I've had good luck with in the past (Buydig.com). However, I'd prefer to wait until I can get the 770 or 790 for under $200.

We dyed our eggs during the Ten Commandments too. It cracked me up, because our eggs each had expiration dates printed on them and you could really read it after we dyed the eggs!

Wow! I wonder how the hen does that?:confused3

Hi everyone!

Sorry I've been missing for the last week ... I had a miserable time at the dentist on Tuesday and just haven't been up to DISing. I had a large filling that had cracked - it needed to be removed and then re-filled. The procedure took 1.5 hours and I react very slowly to the Novocaine (or whatever it is nowadays) so I was still feeling things for the first part. I ended up with 5 shots to try and get it numb and keep it numb! Afterwards, everything hurt - the jaw muscles from having my mouth open for so long, the inside of the jaw from being stabbed with the needle, and of course the filling itself! :scared: :sad2: It doesn't help that I am already dentist-phobic (really bad experience with a dentist back in my teens - he refused to believe that I could still feel the drill and drilled out this same molar.) My current dentist is very nice and I try and calm down for her, but I'm still tense the whole time. She says that the old, evil dentist "butchered" this tooth and eventually I'll have to have a crown.

Anyway, between the dentist and the weather ("I'm dreaming of a white Easter" - NOT!) I just haven't been feeling very social. I'm sure I have tons to try and Ketchup, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it. I'll probably just start reading from here and do a little Ketchup here and there as I have time...

On the good news front, my new DCL Passporter book came yesterday! :thumbsup2 Given the current weather (I shoveled the driveway on Good Friday!) it is very hard to believe that spring will ever come, so reading about cruising in warm climates is very nice!

DS & DH actually went out yesterday and built an igloo (OK, a sort of igloo like structure :rotfl2: ) with a figure of a bunny sitting on top. We went ahead and had an Easter egg hunt with our next door neighbors this morning - we actually hid some of the eggs by just burying them in the snow.

Hopefully, I'll be around a bit more this week!

Pamela

Hey Pamela, hope things start slowing down for you soon.

We're off today, but I have to go to the doctors this afternoon, boo. My left eyelid started to swell slightly on Friday...bad new is, it's getting worse !! Hopefully, it's just a sinus infection. yaknow, as opposed to quasimodo-itis :rotfl2:

I also have to go to a viewing tonight. My Mom's youngest sister, just 61 years old. My Mom's whole family is gone now. She was oldest when she died at 63. That's one of the reasons I spend my money now.

Also a good reason to have a good relationship with your Dr.!

We'll be missing school too. Not sure exactly how many days, the calendar hasn't been posted yet. But we usually start the Tues or Wed in the last week of Aug. Haven't told the school yet.

I'm sorry about your aunt.
I know what you mean - women in my family don't get very old either. I'm all for creating great memories.

I hope you don't get the dreaded quasimodoitis diagnosis. :lmao:

Hey everyone. Hope everyone had a good Easter. We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge, although I'm a little worse for wear! I'll say it first I'm a klutz! Skinned my knee and I guess I was coming down with a sinsus infection and the chlorine really made things worse. DD and I did go down one of the big slides and let me tell you, slide is such a gentle word, this ride was not! It was a doggone roller coaster! On the bright side dd is now tall enough to do stuff on her own so she had an awesome time! She didn't go back on the slide we did, she went down the other one many times. She did karaoke so I told her she would have to do it on the cruise!

Hit a nice s*** storm Fri on the way down. Once in OH it was OK. Friday night it s***ed like crazy. White Christmas yes, white Easter no! I refuse to shovel any more!:snooty:

Sorry about your tooth & I hope the weather clears for you soon!

Actually, that is 3 Resorts, total of 8 parks if you hit them all. I hit all of them last year. I live less than a mile from Disneyland, spent a day at the parks there, went off to Disneyland Paris and spent a week in Paris, went down for the last Med cruise then stayed on the ship for the Transatlantic cruise and then spent 10 days at WDW before going back home to Disneyland (helping a friend move and drive cross country).

Im never going on vacation for more than a month again. Kinda cool that I made it from Paris to California without a plane though. How many people do that these days?

Wow sounds hectic but fun! :cool1:

I love the food network! :cloud9:

Look out Diane...........Here comes another one!!!:rolleyes1

:duck:

I did not think anyone would see our video on youtube.:lmao: :lmao:

We don't have to worry about videos of us in slo mo...we'll be no mo! ;)

Yes ours came and went, and we had hail and snow again this morning which has gone again!

Yuck! We have no snow left on the ground & the crocuses are starting to bloom! On that note we did have a freak snow storm in April of 97. I remember clearly because I was just about to have DS. :sad2:

My aunt has Easter Monday off too (I don't), but we can't figure out what it is. I'm actually going on an interview for a new job... my current one has been going downhill FAST! They fired my boss last Wed & nobody is happy. :sad1: It was a witch-hunt & the community is in an uproar. Time for me to look elsewhere. Just hope it doesn't affect my TOAL.

Best of luck with your interview and I really hope it doesn't effect the TOAL! :wizard:

As someone who went out around 8:00 p.m. the night before Easter, I can say that Target and Wal-mart had absolutely no Easter candy left..

Target didn't have Easter baskets either! :sad2:

Just be careful of those websites. DH has tried to purchase a few cameras on-line at a couple of different websites that offered GREAT deals, but before they complete the order they call you or you have to call an 1-800 number & they attempt to upsell. In more than one case, we NEVER got the order. They didn't charge our credit card or anything, but it's obviously a case of false advertising. :sad2:

Wow! I wonder how the hen does that?:confused3

:lmao:

I made it about 4 months, but finally ended up with the plague that has been going around my office.

I was exhausted all day Saturday, but I took a long nap, rallied to go swimming, and went to bed early. Sunday I though I had beaten it. Discovered this morning, notsomuch. Ick.

My kids are going for the first day 9/2...despite returning from Orlando at about midnight.

Sorry you're not feeling well M!

We don't get back till night before school starts either, but I can't complain. I am sooooo happy they are not missing the first day of high school or middle school. Although my DS would've done just fine, it would've been tough for DD who has a harder time fitting in.

We're off today, but I have to go to the doctors this afternoon, boo. My left eyelid started to swell slightly on Friday...bad new is, it's getting worse !! Hopefully, it's just a sinus infection. yaknow, as opposed to quasimodo-itis :rotfl2:

So sorry about your eye! It might just be an ingrown eyelash or insect bite? :confused3

Also very sorry to hear about the passing of your aunt!

I'm all about spending money while you can still enjoy it! :thumbsup2 I'm already have problems with joint pain, so I'm afraid that by the time we retire I won't be very mobile. That means the time to take big vacations is NOW! :yay:

WooHoo that is good news - hey maybe one morning on the ship we can do a few victory laps to celebrate being able to run again! I am getting there slowly but surely. Physcial therapist says I can walk 1 mile per day for a few days and see how I feel and then work up from there. He did say that I can ride my bike now so i am thrilled I can actually get some sort of exercise in.
