Even though I'm relatively new to this thread, I enjoyed reading the trip report and viewing the pictures. Thanks for sharing. It does look like a fun group. Our family is relatively shy (well except for my DW and youngest DS), but we are really looking forward to meeting all of you.

Christopher...

... well, if yer relatively new here... then lets' roll out this "relatively new" red carpet ta welcome ya aboard!

The internet can sometimes give you too much information. I had my mole operated on again yesterday.:headache: I was allergic to the Neosporin I was told to put on for the last three weeks. I was wondering why it was crimson colored. I thought it was infected and Dr. would not be able to operate to get the other bad cells. He just said to stop using the medicine and I need to put Aquaphor on the new stitches. This time insteat of 2 stitches.....I got 8 stitches. The good news is he said it was like having a line removed from my mouth without paying for plasctic surgery.:yay: :woohoo: :yay:

You got in a lot faster than me. Did they do the Mohs part on you? Supposedly when I leave, there is a 99% chance they will get is all on the
1st try. In other words I do not leave until they get "clean margins".
I had a lady suggest I get a gycolic peel to get rid of any surface cells. Always nice to get something out of it positive. :) (besides the whole "I get to live part" ;) )

Yeah, but what's going to keep me awake in the afternoon?
Besides, I don't have any car paint inside of me to worry about.

:)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper is my one real vice. I know what it is "free" of, I really don't want to know what it has in it, though!

Been busy around here. Yesterday my brother and his family flew down from Sacramento to celebrate my DFs 90th birthday. Took the kids out of school for the day so they could visit with their cousins.
P3180037.jpg

Found out from my nephew that his family is going a short Mexican cruise and will be returning 8/15. They are planning to stay at our house that night or maybe the 16th. :scared1: I mentioned that we are leaving for our vacation on the the 17th and that the 16th would probably not be a good night. So I guess that they are staying on the 15th. No sure how this will all play out for us coming to DL on the 16th. Maybe they will come too.

Lastly DW went to the School Board Meeting last night for the final vote on closing Austyn's elementary school. The board voted 3-2 to close our school. :sad2: I have made a note of the 3 old ladies that voted to close our school and will make sure they are not elected the next time they are up for election. The biggest grip that we have is that the school they are moving us too are among the lowest in the district. Only 57 kids out of 500 can speak English and their API scores are really on the low side. We moved here 20 some odd years ago because of our neighborhood school. Our school is a National Blue ribbon school and last week won its 3rd Distinguished School award. Moving to the designated school is just not an option for Austyn. We will now have to start exploring our options as to where she will be going to school and when to move her.

No Coral I only had funny squamous cells that did not turn into Cancer but very easily could. My original mole was the size of the top of a straight pin but very dark. Doctor thought he got it all the first time but one margin was just not clear enough. Now hopefuly the margins are clear.:goodvibes He gets only a second shot since it was so small but next time I go for the Moths Surgery.:yay:

When are you going??:confused3:flower3:

When's your birthday? Mine is actually on Mother's Day this year. Wish I could be in WDW for my birthday.

My birthday is May 10....I was born on Mother's Day way back when. Last year Laura and I met up in Orlando and sent the Magic on her way to the Med. Looks like this year we will do the same but I will be waving at Laura from shore as she takes the Magic to the west coast.

Oh man, Roger....that is rough! Poor Austyn. I am so sorry the vote didn't go your way.

But, I have to tell you....your dad is adorable!!! Happy 90th Birthday to him!!!! He looks like he is feeling better!

Hey all! Happy Hump day!

Somewhat of a short week for me. We only work a half day on Good Friday. I haven't worked on Good Friday in a good 6 or 7 years, always took the morning off and went to the Marshmellow Drop at a local park, but dd isn't into it anymore. DD is also on vacation this week, so she is at the Y winter camp. We are going to go to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky OH for the weekend. Trying to have a bit of spring but now I hear we may have snow Fri! :scared1:

Monica, great trip report and pics. You guys look like you had so much fun! Gosh I can't wait till the TOAL. Monica hang in there with Trevoy. My dd is a bit of a follower and she gets in trouble for going along with the crowd every now and than. That's what scares me when she is older, the peer pressure.

Love all the pics of the mini meet.

I guess not the best time to have realatives visiting but I am sure you will be glad to see them.:cool1:

So sorry about your school closing.:sad2: That was our main objective when we moved 36 years ago. We picked one of the best in the state for a great school system.;) What is the reason for your school closing.:confused3 Seems like there would be schools not as distinguised as your to close!!:sad2: Poltics and government do not always work together hand in hand.:rolleyes1

I love Wednesdays. My cleaning lady speaks a little English and I speak a little Spanish so we teach each other every week. It has reminded me that I actaully do remember my middle school Spanish.

I did the worst possible thing: I researched my Mohs surgery on the internet.
Scared myself silly. I saw a case study that showed the exact spot and seemingly same size I had so I thought it would be a good one to see. WRONG!! The poor man had a gaping hole all the way through his nose. :scared1: I called the nurse and asked if that was what I should prepare myself for. She was pretty appalled I had even thought that. She said to definitely expect stitches though. That I can deal with- gaping holes- not so much!

Happy Hump Day everyone.

I agree with everyone else (well, Tom and M) -- you need to research surgery on the Internet like you need a hole in your head...

OMG! Your Dad is adorable. That is definitely something I would take my kids out for as well. Family is the most important thing to me.
That stinks about Austyn's school. They are closing a good performing school in favor or a low performing one? :confused3 That is crazy. One of my very good friends lives in Dallas proper ( NOT known for their school system) and she happened to find a pocket of good schools but once her DD gets out of Elementary, she has not good options.
Remeber you are the best advocate for your child.

Ahh! You were lucky to catch the cells at the relatively innocent stage.
I go bright and early Monday morning. I am already rounding up good reading material. ;)

You are quite the witty one. I have a feeling we would have really gotten on well if we were on the cruise together. :thumbsup2
That would be a hole in my nose, not necessarily my head. ;)

Found this on the main cruise board. Looks like the new ships won't be in Europe for awhile with the new deal. But, at least it confirms that Disney will be staying in Port Canaveral. Contract is for 15 years but they can move one of the new ships after 2014.

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Disney Cruise Line has agreed to make Port Canaveral home for both of the newest super liner cruise ships in its fleet beginning in 2011, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.

Those pics of Cheers almost make me want to take the 20 min. ride into Boston!

DISCLAIMER: For those of you on the trip with us. I apologize if I got anything wrong. It is all a blur now and I can't exactly remember what was done and when.

Enjoyed reading the trip rpt. immensely! Thanks! :flower3:

:cheer2:

We finally have our flights!

I scored $10 tickets both ways with Skybus this morning. Thanks to a tip from Joel....Thanks again Joel! :flower3:

I am so glad to scratch that one off of my list!

Wow what a deal! Great job!!! :thumbsup2

No...thank you.:goodvibes :dance3: Deanna's been so diligent in checking every morning and was great in sending me a text message this morning when she saw they were released. I've never been so happy for a 6AM text message on my phone and it simply said "Skybus NOW!". :lmao: :woohoo: We scored $10 tickets too. :yay: Thanks again Deanna.:worship:

Yeah!!!

Well, $75 tickets is still VERY good! And there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, we are flying into Burbank, so Super Shuttle to HoJo will cost us a little more. But it is a non-stop flight to LA!!! :cheer2: On the trip home, we have a 2 hour drive to St. Augustine Airport and a 5:58pm departure. It is also non-stop, so we will arrive home around 8pm. Finally, we have to pay $10 for each bag we check. All things considered, I know we got a great deal, and I'm very grateful I was able to snag them.

Skybus sells the first 10 seats on every flight for $10 each. We took 6 of them on our flight, the 4 of us plus my parents. Within minutes, the price of tickets on that same flight went up to $105 each.

What the??? :scared1: Well I shouldn't be surprised. I just booked my flts last week to WDW for Oct. on Jetblue & I missed the fact that they opened by a few days. Anyway I called my friend whose family is joining us & she said "Go ahead & book & I'll wait & talk to DH". Okay so I book at $114 each way, still not bad considering, but when I went to pick seats, the plane was almost full! We ended up in the back of the plane, which I hate! So I call my friend back to tell her, but she's out for the afternoon. By the time she called, about 3 hours later, the flt down went up to $209 & the flt back up to $174. Well she ended up booking a flt that leaves 90 mins after us for $134 & took the flt back for $174! It's crazy!!!

Diet coke will take paint off cars and you're drinking lots of it? :scared1:

Diet colas in general should be a no no as the chemicals in them are a diuretic and if your body is dehydrated it doesn't function properly (ie lose weight)

:scared1:

ok now what do i drink for 15 days.... i don't drink fountain drinks and i won't drink they're water (tastes funny) and i don't like their bottled brand either.

i better be able to carry on.

And i'm only a little older than your 34 yo remember MOM......

My st's carp makes me look like an angel....

I was NHS president my senior year...it wasn't a big deal in our school... i was kinda a smart slacker though....

Yeah i don't think she'll make 18.... but she better have a place to live then because it won't be under my roof. I'll put the house up for sale and move if i have to. (and we won't be giving out our forwarding address either.)

Ah see & look how great you turned out so no worries right? ;)

Never mind, I think I got that backwards! But I still think you're a great Mom & have faith that things will work out!

We're flying home on Skybus :cool1: We'll be flying home from Punta Gorda on Tuesday ... FIL lives there, so it's a nice excuse for the kids to see their Grandpa. So what that they'll miss the first day of school, right ;) I'd been holding out booking our flights home waiting on Southwest to open their flights up for September ... then I got scared when they were talking on the TV this morning that flight prices are going to do nothing but soar over the summer  For the price of a one-way ticket on Delta from Orlando on September 1st, I can fly 3 of us home on September 2nd :cheer2: DH is going to spend a few extra days in Punta Gorda w/his Dad, so I haven't booked his flight home yet.

Happy Wednesday everyone pirate:
~Kandi

We are staying till Tues also & staying with my sister in Summerfield, but luckily our kids don't start till Weds. We booked our flts on Jetblue for $114. I think I could've done better on Southwest, but I like having a TV.

Don't panic yet!!!:flower3: Lots of the WB people have no rooms yet either!!!:rolleyes1 If we have to....we will hide you in some of the lifeboats!!:cloud9: :rotfl:

Wow $10.00. I just feel like taking an airplane ride for that price:laughing: Who cares where you might go.:thumbsup2

That is great news!!!:woohoo: Drinks are on you with all the money saved.:dance3: :dance3:

We're relatively shy too, except for my DS! Although M would probably read this & think....What??? I practically ran her down hugging her when we met in WDW, but I just felt like I knew her so well. KWIM? ;)

so...you and I are everyone now Tom?

Well I agreed too, but since others already agreed I didn't feel like I had to agree again, but I will agree just to say that I agree. Agreed?

Yeah, but what's going to keep me awake in the afternoon?
Besides, I don't have any car paint inside of me to worry about.

:lmao:

:)

:wave2: Hi!! A very quick fly-by posting this morning.....company keeps me hopping...but I love being "tour guide".

Thank you so much for the great birthday wishes!! I DID get roses, but they weren't quite delivered by anyone resembling the guy in the picture here! ;) My family really went all out, and they touched my heart with decorating the house in the wee hours before I woke up, flowers, gifts, balloons and a really wonderful dinner that included our visiting DIS friends. Doesn't get much better than that!!

Thank you again, I really, really appreciate it!!

Off and running! :car:

Aw that sounds wonderful Stace! Glad you had a great b-day!!! :goodvibes

Great pic of you & your Dad! :goodvibes

I can really relate to the school closing thing. We had a few schools closed & the ones that remained opened were redistricted. The reason being that we had a couple of schools in the downtown area that had a very high percentage of free/reduced lunch. Not that there is anything wrong with having low-income, but the schools were performing at a much lower rate than the other districts for a mulititude of reasons. So they tried to even things out by moving neighborhoods around to different schools. Which I think is the right thing to do all around, but now our neighborhood school has about 40% free/reduced & the others schools are all around 12-16% so they weren't very successful in making things even. The school committee states that they don't know how the disparity happened, but they will look into in 2010! :confused3

I just read that on another cruise website that they are bringing the new RCCL Genesis class there in 2010. I can't imagine how big those are going to be!

Ok here is your funny for the day. I was talking to my neighbor the other day and she casually mentioned when she took her shower that morning the cat was dirty so she .............took the cat in the shower with her :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: For anyone that has cats this is probably shocking! She said she held him and washed him and then when finished with him she put him down in the shower and finished hers. She has no idea how odd it is for a cat to do that as this is her 1st cat.
My cat would scratch me to the bone if I tried that.

 Very brave lady!!!
