If you ever see them with their vests on, run them down. The vests mean they are giving out dreams. If it's multiple items, like fastpasses or ears, they'll stay in that spot until they are all given out. Just run up and stick your hand out. That's how we got ears at DL last summer. Almost got fastpasses in Nov but they handed out the last one to the lady in front of us.

We didn't get anything last August when we were there, but in 2006 we were at WDW in October and we received dream fast passes at MGM on our first day. Our entire Star Tours 'space ship' was given one.

Morning everyone :goodvibes

We expect thunderstorms today :scared1: currently 71 and high of 82. We need the rain.

Thanks for the Newsletter Tom.

Hope everyone has a great day. Need to get ready for :surfweb:

Chatty pirate yesterday after a slow moving couple of days.
TG for 3 day weekends!

Funny story from yesterday - DS9's team was invited to the Chevy Chase Country Club :snooty: to play their hockey team. They have a fully-size refrigerated outdoor rink, so it was a fun opportunity. When we got there we were sent to our locker room, which was basically a shed with a space heater. Through the windows past the "Members Only" door we could see their locker room - huge NFL/NHL size lockers and a FIRE PLACE in the center.
There were no bleachers, so we sat on a wall along the side of the rink. The "Members Only" had a second level enclosed dining room and patio overlooking the rink. We couldn't even get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate because the snack bar was "Members Only", so we came prepared with muffins, doughnuts and thermos' full of hot beverages. It was so lovely to feel like a "guest". :rotfl:

Moral of this story: We didn't have a fireplace, we didn't have brunch delivered to out windowside seats, but the one thing we did have was SCOREBOARD.

Our kids won 8-4.
Our parents and coaches are not a win and all cost group at all, but there was a certain satisfaction to winning that one. :)

I told folks in chat, but figured everyone else would be interested too.

DS went back to school this week. :cool1:
And lasted all day, every day. :cool1: :cool1:
:cheer2: :cheer2:
Great news Monica!
One day, one week at a time.

At this point, I'd be happy with winning anything from the YOMD - at least I'll have three days of chances at DL/DCA before we head off on the cruise. We saw YOMD CM's when we were at WDW for 10 days last August but didn't win a thing. If I hadn't seen the CM's I would have thought it was purely an advertising sceme on Disney's part.

It is a really good marketing promotion. I like that it is random to a degree. Very easy for Disney to carry it on in some form after the year is finished and with not much cost to them.

9 days at WDW and I've never even SEEN the dream team.

Oh wait, I saw them once. They were directing traffic for marathon spectators and well, that wasn't my dream.

The Cinderella Suite family was in our seating at CRT in January. They were leaving the castle right behind us with their CM. He was telling them that there was about 20 minutes until they needed to be in their reserved Wishes seats & asked what they wanted to do. The kids wanted to ride the Indy Racers - no problem  . As anyone with a pre-driving kid probably knows, the line for Indy is always impossibly long (especially considering the excitement that is the ride!) I guess they just get to walk up to whatever they want.

I also need to schedule in some "plop on a beach chair with a fruity drink and listen to music" time.

That's all we do on CC. The rugby game is a big departure for us - it is a scheduled activity. We always stake out 2 hammocks and lounge/swim/snorkel/read/bake.

I'm outta here. Was in the closet all day and I'm beat.

Does DH know you are out of the closet?
What about the other excaping moms?

Are there any hills on CC ? If it is mostly flat, I think we'll be ok.

Yes, my last 2 visits to CC I rarely ventured from the beach:rolleyes:

I don't think it is very hilly, but the terrain can be a little rough if you venture on that place that runs parallel to the adult beach . . .

Hi All,

We're joining this motely crew for another trip through the Canal.

We don't post much due to busy schedules (work can really interfere with Disney trip planning and execution). Besides, we'd never be able to keep with all you and all these posts! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We're currently a GTW cat 5 although that may change as we're also doing the 5 night Castaway Cay Double Dip right after the PC trip and have a cat 6 for that one. Need as many nights on the ship as possible. :rotfl2:

It will be myself, Bob, and Dale (DW) and our traveling companion Gordy "The World Traveler".

Thanks, Bob (aka Dread Pirate Barnacle Bob) pirate:

:cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Aren't banana boats hard to stay on board?

In my opinion, trying to stay on is about 90% of the fun!

We won the YOAMD twice last summer. Second time was exiting Mickey's ToonTown autograph barn and kids and I (wife was shopping) got:

MagicKingdom118.jpg

First time was exiting the Crush and Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon and kids and I (wife again off somewhere) got pin lanyards with two YOAMD pins.

After second time, kids said "Mom, we don't want you to do anything with us. We win when you aren't around!"

Those are some cute kids, Tom! :thumbsup2 But where is the picture of YOU in your "Dream ears"?????!!!!

i think we'll be staying @ the disney hotel, and spending one day @
disneyland. and since our "kids" covered alot ground--[ like 20 years] ,
most likely, there will be times..we'll be splitting up. [ on our last 2
cruises ..we are not sure..what our boys were actual doing. ]

We are gonna be at PP and spend 1 day in the parks. Unless Adam wants to do another park day, I want to relax and enjoy the pool after I make our liquor store run.

:scared: ..were you near..the school?...:flower3: . * i kno...i 've..to be
careful..not to lecture..but its hard not too..when its so ...preventative,
...& the abc's of mental health..are ignored. ( gads zooks~ while i certainly
have no inside info...its alarming....hearing..the obvious being missed...
* if...he just recently...went off his meds...why do they blame that..,
when he brought the guns..last fall..:confused3 ) * becos..all behaviors
have meaning/s, there are valuable clues..to learn from. recognizing
repeated warnings..., but we should be using reality orientation and
not labeling...so recognizing "losses" of self control, before deciding on
a corrective action/s...can/ will increase our odds of prevention...
thru recovery. reality is: any person can become mentally unstable.
[ i think one of the best thing out of the predator shows..is alerting the
general population..that stero typing ...can be used as a cover for
those with harmful intents.]

It seems that there must be signs, it is a shame that afterwards is when people say well you know I noticed........
one example.., for what ever reason/s....@ epcot . i saw a mid 4o's/well
dressed man..."angling " toward my wife. sure it was a mistake, nonetheless,
i keep watching...when he got...within 30yds...i cut infront of my wife,
to shield...surely, he would adjust..but no! he slammed into me...however,
he didn't estimated..we were heading down hill ..and was already
preparing...knocked him cleared around, but by the time i confronted him,
he was running off. he meant to run over..us! why? dunno. except i saw
the behaviors //warnings// & prevented..the assault. one might be
surprised..how useful..our pysch..techniques...are..in the community level.

:scared1: That was strange! Maybe he was a pickpocket?

oh, pbager ....when we did the banna boat......there were alot smart alecs
on the "other"..side...our driver..made sure..they're dunked!

Yes, sometimes they do flip you on purpose, that jet ski or boat just needs to make a sharp turn and off everyone goes:lmao: :lmao:

Oh my, those zips are LONG.

How long is the tour? We're still going to have time for a shot a Cabo Wabo right?

Yes, we should be back by 2.:)
Did you show Trevoy the video?

Congrats on your team's win:goodvibes

After second time, kids said "Mom, we don't want you to do anything with us. We win when you aren't around!"
Nothing like giving her a guilt complex.:lmao:

Just wanted to stop in and say Good morning to everyone

It has been a busy couple of weeks at work with another busy one this week
But I try to read as often as I can

I can't believe we are at 6 months and 1 day to go :cool1:

Does DH know you are out of the closet?
What about the other excaping moms?

Not sure about the Moms. but Jay's not worried....about that, anyway.
He claims I'm a "spatula".....I flip 'em.....it's from an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond....you'd have to see it...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I was in the closet trying to find something decent to wear to DD's wedding. I'd already gone through the closet in the apartment and the guest house...where I store "extra" clothing. I ended up cleaning out a bunch of stuff that I will never wear. Still have 3/4 of the closet yet to finish.
So I'm going back into the closet today.;) Kinda like the groundhog.....came out, didn't like what I saw......:lmao:

About the Banana Boats.....

I have NO balance, no coordination....am "slightly" overweight....but I've never fallen off. And I like to ride holding on with only one hand and waving the other one wildly in the air.....yelling "WHOO HOOOOO"...

Hmm...no wonder the Moms won't do it with me...:sad2:

In other words, though, it's really fun and nothing to be afraid of at all.

If you felt like you were losing your balance and going to fall, you are supposed to lean to the inside of the banana boat...that way, you wouldn't fall off into the water, only onto the middle section of the boat. But I've never seen anyone do that. I have seen people "fall off" accidentally on purpose though. ;)

Yes, we should be back by 2.:)
Did you show Trevoy the video?

Not yet. He was already asleep when I was getting caught up and is still asleep this morning. I know he'll want to do the tandem at least for the first run.

Hmph! Luckyyyyyyyyy! :sad2: J/k! I hope you have a blast! :cool1:

We're not doing a darn thing until August! Trying to even keep the eating out to a minimum. Trying anyway! :rolleyes1

So are we Diane, so are we:sad2:. DH even went so far tonight as to make some suggestions tonight to make it seem less like cooking and more like eating out or getting take-out - AND he has been doing the dishes more nights than not over the last couple of weeks. Think I'm going to have to keep him around for a while longer:thumbsup2 .

We're trying to keep spending way down too. I now have a communion party to pay for between now & the TOAL. And just to rub salt in the wound, the Swan & Dolphin just sent me discount codes. Why, oh, why do we love vacation so much ??

YES! Love a good banter. Sadly it is not a hobby dear hubby can appreciate especially with the potential price tag. That said, I am looking to justify my next purchase. Does anyone travel with a 70-300mm? I've got my eye on a new Zuiko but it is a big lens.

All opinions welcome!

Marian

I'm bringing my 70-300 Canon IS. Their new version of this lens is only 6" long.
But then you do need a Canon camera ;)

Andy

Hey LilGrumpy....did I ever tell you that my middle daughter's name is Jordan? She's 17...or as she keeps reminding us...almost 18.
This is her with our son Jared...an old picture
