Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has ever requested a certain server? We loved our first server and have visited with him on EVERY cruise we have been on since. He remembers us and we would just LOVE to have him as our server. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we could go about requesting him ahead of time. With our large family, I don't think we will have any chance of switching once we are on the ship.

Thanks in advance. Have a great day! :)

Sounds like a wonderful plan you have, my DH would be very jealous! We don't have much passenger train travel out of OK,would have to ride down to FT. Worth,TX and change there. Have a ball and take care.

Yes you can request specific servers. Put your request on your reservation now. If you are going to link up with the larger DIS group for dining, DCL will switch your server to fit into our rotation if needed.

I havent, but I have always had a very good team, its nice to get to know new people and funny, most of ours have been planning to leave my 2005/2006/2007 servers were all ending their time with DCL, at the end of that cruise.

Good afternoon! I've been trying to ketchup for 2 days...

Can anyone else see my ticker?

I can't see it . Only the boat is visible (and at home i can't even see that)
I can't see anything... sorry.

Awesome pics.... Hope they had lots of fun!

Those of you who have seen me around here know its not beneath me to "steal" from the WB thread, but this post had an interesting idea:
I think this is a great idea!

Cant remember if I did all of these or not, so

Happy Birthday.

Thank you all for Thomas' birthday wishes... he was very surprised! We had planned a fun day of Thomas learning how to ski & both of spending a day on the mountain. But 1 hr into his lesson he fell & twisted his knee. That ended our ski day.... but we did get to get a ride in the ski-do sled. It was an adventure. But the knee injury didn't stop him from resting up so he could go tubing with his friends that night. He didn't want to disappoint anyone, as they were all looking forward to tubing. All went well & everyone had fun.

WOW! She looks great:thumbsup2 Love the costumes and she looks RADIENT ;)

Thank you -- she was "SOME SPIDER" . . .;)

Hi everyone!

We are going to take the train from Milwaukee to Los Angeles. I have done many travels by train including to Florida, Texas and New Orleans. It is a really fun and RELAXING way to travel. I will be going with the kids alone and my husband will be flying out to LA to meet us there as he is trying to not take too much time off of work. We get a family bedroom and another little bedroom. The cost is almost exactly the same as flying but it adds a little extra time to the trip and some fun memories! AND, if anyone has even considered the train for cross country travel, I highly recommend it. The main reason I like it is that all the stress of running through an airport, getting through security (especially with 5 kids, UGH!), take off, landing, keeping the toddler quiet, not upsetting the people in front of or behind us, not having a panic attack (I HATE flying) paying for all your meals etc, is VERY tough. Instead, you get on the train, and just CHILL for a day or two. It is so easy and I think it helps put the distance in perspective for the kids. The scenery is amazing and it seems more real to me. When you take the train and get a sleeping room, the meals are included in the cost. ALSO, the most important part to me is that everyone on the train is so relaxed and pleasant! Everyone knows we are all in it for the long haul and we get there when we get there. Very stress free and a great way to start a TOAL!

Going on the train sounds like a wonderful way to start the trip!

Awesome pics.... Hope they had lots of fun!

Thank you, Penny -- belated birthday wishes to Thomas . . . sorry he twisted his knee, though!

Paula - Sil was asking about you tonight. Come join us in chat.

Hi Sil, sorry I missed you. I can't remember when the last time I have been able to chat on Fridays.:goodvibes

Paula, the Yankees were giving out autographs but he was unable to manuever down to the front. I had to drop him off and go park the car. Had I known at the time I probably could've tried. We had seats in the top. They had a really super pre game presentation by the Armed Services. Rangers (I believe) jumped out of a plane and landed on the field. I wasn't prepared for the jet fighter who buzzed the field a bit after of would've gotten a pic as well. It was so loud, it shook the stands. WOW !!! Sky diver right in front of us

They played the Univ of South Florida. The poor kids were getting beat so bad. 3 up, 3 out etc.. The families were sitting behind and all around us.(loud) and finally, they got lucky. They had bases loaded and lo and behold a grand slam. Sad it was the only runs they made, but the families were ecstatic. Glad for them:thumbsup2 We left at the 7th inning. It was 4 and we needed to get out of Tampa before rush hour. I don't think we will be making that trip again. The stadium was really super. But too far. 107 miles from us.But Rich got his fix for a while :lmao: We then had dinner at Applebees and the service was so bad, We didn't say a thing but when she brought us the check, the waitress actually had the mgr come over to apologize and when he saw Richs Yankee garb, he comped us for the meal. The service was so so bad. I guess she knew it as half the meal never made it to the table. At least she got a tip.I was so tired I never made it to chat. Just wanted to go to sleep at 10............

Sounds like you all had fun Arlene. :cheer2: Rich got his BB fix ! Glad they comped your meal---we hardly ever go out to dinner anymore.

I thought I saw there were some Yankees fans who did a Dis-meet last year. I need some help. I booked $10 airline tickets on Skybus to NY for DW and I in June to see the Reds series versus the Yankees. Single game tickets went on sale yesterday, but they were sold-out within a few minutes. I'm sure I can do e-bay/ticket broker or wait until closer to the game because I know that teams retain tickets for potential season ticket sales that are often released later, but thought I'd see if there's any other suggestions. I was looking at either Sat. June 21 or Sun. June 22nd.

Joel, good luck with your tickets. There were 5 of us families that got together last summer for a game. Peter Darthrugby got our tickets--they were high but we could see everything. It was a fun day and wonderful getting to see our dis friends. $10 airline tickets!!! Wow:goodvibes

Hey folks, I was just cruising through the kids thread -- mostly because I clicked it in error -- but I'm wondering if we should warn our kids about posting their city, school names, email addresses, myspace or IM names.

I'm real paranoid about putting too much information out there. I don't want anything out there that could help someone find my child. I even refuse to put the honor roll bumper stickers on my car.

Monica sorry I meant to respond to this earlier & I forgot. I did mention when I started the thread NOT to put personal info. but maybe I should've clarified exactly what that meant. Maybe some don't realize that email addresses, IM names, etc. constitutes private. So if you want to go ahead & give them all a little reminder, it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Well, I called and did it. The woman at the reservation center told me I could just do it on the ship and I told her I didn't think that would work and could she please do it. Then she said sure. So, I did it! I really hope we get him, it would really make this extra special! :)

Thanks for the advice!

Question; Is that $25-30.00 total or each? And,did you get my info?

Debi, it is total.:)

I am so far behind so I only read that last 20 or so pages. I just had to comment on this one.
When I do get the rare call like this I turn the tables and ask them if they would be interested in purchasing window treatments. (This is what my business is) I go on an on about how great they are and that they are custom made etc. Usually, they hang up or I get some dumb comment about how they don't have windows.
When my DD16 answers these type of calls she just sets the phone down next to the screaming bird cage, That usually works well too.

Group Tastings

Monica and Laurie, this sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for organizing :goodvibes
Hi everyone!

How are y'all doing? I haven't been around in awhile. I pop by on occasion to try to ketchup, but it is tough! I haven't posted in forever though. Sorry!

Your train ride sounds like a lot of fun and less hassle than 5+ you traveling through the sky. I bet you are busy in the mortgage world.:)

I did & I thought I was safe. It does state that there are no hidden charges except for what your carrier may charge for a text message. They state it is simply a "sharing" site. Well don't you know that I haven't had any SPAM mail with my current email address until I registered at THAT site. Now I'm suddenly getting SPAM the last 2 days! :headache:  :sad2:

My DD16 signed us up on that site but used an email that we never check. Like a hotmail or aim account. That way we don't get any spam.

 ..ok, it said failed. i don't know if something wrong or
not. [ it said 2 tasks..so iam guessing it 's referring to the previous
e-mail]

I am not sure what happened!! Just click on this and send me your info!!:thumbsup2

micmsecheryl@yahoo.com I tried it and it works.

I am on first name basis with the security on the Magic. Long story but John disappeared for over an hour. I called security and had three handsome security officers come to my rescue.:woohoo: Maybe John will disappear again on this trip.:rolleyes1

I loved the pictures even though you went to see the Yankees!!!:sad2:

Cheryl What I meant by TracFone was I have a prepaid cellphone and that's the name of the company that I get my minutes from. I don't use it enough to justify having the monthly bill. I get a 400 minute card,$99,lasts for a year and I never use it all.

Now as I was telling the kids in chat, we went shopping at Sam's last night. We picked up that collapsible, soft side cooler for $24.88 and 2 sets of cheap, Body Glove snorkle sets for CC day at $40 a set. You should be able to see mine a mile away...it's shocking pink!

OMG!!! 400 minutes would not last me a day!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Looks like your roll-along cart will not get mixed up withthe rest of ours!!;)

Attention!
Shopaholic Wenches ...
& Shopaholic CrossDressing Swabbies...

Here is a photo-log of my spouses' Task Force Macy 2-29-2008 findings with prices/values as of last nite...
< and she is NOT fully pictured as she demanded I NOT post her full photo on account of her incomplete make up, hair prep and so on... however, I still think she is the most beautiful wench to grace the 7 seas (that's with or without make up and "hair doing")
... and I usually prefer her "naturally" without the makeup an' stuff!

My Macy's was only down to 30% off the clearance.:sad2: :sad2: I will keep checking!!:thumbsup2

Tell Alicia I liked the snow boots the best!:yay: :yay:

I have been using Earplanes for nearly 10 years when I fly. They have been a godsend for me. They are a little different from regular earplugs - if you look through the blue plastic you can see a small insert, supposedly that is what slowly regulates the air pressure change in your ear. Once the plane is at it cruising altitude for a while, you can take them out (as long as you get them in again before the decent starts!) Before these, flying was incredibly painful - my ears wouldn't "pop" and the pressure would just build and build. I won't even get on a plane without these now!
Pamela

I never fly without my EarPlanes either!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: Best invention since chocolate.:cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes I saw my DD did get a bit close to the mark with her school. As I was editing it for her, it was deleted.

Anyone have any idea why John disappeared?

My theory... Cheryl without a cell phone.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Tom, when are you opening up the 4th incarnation of the thread? What is our cut off point?

The system is playing me up as I used my DD's log in, so it kept logging me out then duplicated my post.

So as many people have asked by PM, the picture below is of the new series of Doctor Who to start here in three weeks and his new assistant Donna, this is episode two set in Pompeii. As its about to erupt.
