Thanks! I would love our names. What is the best way to get you our requests. This is very nice of you to offer.

My neice was in town this weekend so we went to see Penelope tonight. What an adorable movie! Just a cute sweet movie. A feel good evening.
A typical Saturday- soccer and eating out. Miranda is quite the soccer player stuck on a very average team. It is rec league so not many options. She has scored every game except 2 for the last 3 1/2 years. A lot of times she is the only one who scores. Bill started coachnig but we have at least half the team that thinks the ball is deadly and should be avoided at all costs. Makes winning games tough.

To request a design, the easiest way is to send me a PM. That helps me keep track of what I have left to do. With my insane schedule, I sometimes can find time to do a bunch at once and then it'll be 2 weeks before I get back to it! Having the PM's sort of gives me a list to work from...

I liked the comment about "the ball is deadly" - that is my DS's opinion! He really doesn't like games involving balls. Strangely, the only exception is dodge-ball, but he says that is because the POINT is to duck away from the ball!

QUESTION FOR DL EXPERTS:

Are there any touristy shops similar to those found around WDW close to DL?

TIA!

Touristy as in what?

Are you looking for DL souveniers (sp?) or something else? Three or four of the hotels along the strip from HoJos to the main entrance have small gift shops that have Disney merchandise, inlcuding HoJos itself. They have California themed merchandise too. If you have a car, Walmart is a 5-10 minute drive and has the usual Walmart Disney section.

Dad-burn dog....got me up at 5:30 this mornin to go out and now I'm wide awake!!!

Group Tastings

Have you ever wanted to learn the difference between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc? Have you wondered whether the rule really is white with fish, red with beef? Does the term “shaken not stirred” mean anything to you other than James Bond :cool2: ? Are you just as confused as I am.....Barley, Hops, Pilsner, Lager, Stout.....:confused3 what does it all mean? “Lick, Slam, Suck” - no it's not x-rated but do you know what it means?

Come join us for group tastings. We are working on arranging private tastings during our sea days. At this time we do not have specific details, but we are looking for a show of interest. We are requesting Wine, Beer, Tequila, Rum and Martini tastings. No, we will not be tasting all those at the same time. There will be separate sessions planned for each. And for those of you (like me ) who want to attend them all, they will be scheduled at different times. (And hopefully different days!) These will be exactly like the tastings that DCL regularly schedules, but will be limited to those folks in our group. Each tasting will cost $12-15 per person (subject to DCL's current rates).

If you are interested in signing up, please send an email to Laurie (MrsScooby) at mrsscoobie@yahoo.com -- take note, Scoobie is spelled differently in the email address. Please provide your Name, DISBoard Name, Tasting preference (or choose LUSH for all tastings :drinking1 ), and how many people for each tasting.

As we get more details we'll let you all know. We are hoping to have the schedule prior to boarding.

Thanks for doing this, Laurie and Monica!!!!!

Hey folks, I was just cruising through the kids thread -- mostly because I clicked it in error -- but I'm wondering if we should warn our kids about posting their city, school names, email addresses, myspace or IM names.

I'm real paranoid about putting too much information out there. I don't want anything out there that could help someone find my child. I even refuse to put the honor roll bumper stickers on my car.

I agree totally . . . there is a part of me that still doesn't like to post pictures . . . we have to be really careful with personal information put out there . . .

It's a Motorola E815 & my carrier is Verizon. I tried following the troubleshooting directions from myxertones but I couldn't for the life of me get it to work. :confused3

I did get the Mickey Mouse March from one of those "free" websites & it worked, but turns out they send you a text message every month at a cost of $10! What a racket! But anyway, that message went right to my ringtones & these won't. I get the text message & when I open the message I can listen to the horn, but I can't save it to my ringtones.

We had 5x those 9.99 charges that the phone co had to credit and try to cancel. Both of us got text messages to respond but neither of us did.DH doesn't know how to text !!!!I was dreading getting the bill each month to see who was billing us now :scared1: Seems to have stopped but I was hesitant to step in and mention it with the DCL ringtone. Just read the terms very carefully.

I am so far behind so I only read that last 20 or so pages. I just had to comment on this one.
When I do get the rare call like this I turn the tables and ask them if they would be interested in purchasing window treatments. (This is what my business is) I go on an on about how great they are and that they are custom made etc. Usually, they hang up or I get some dumb comment about how they don't have windows.
When my DD16 answers these type of calls she just sets the phone down next to the screaming bird cage, That usually works well too.

:lmao: That's a good one I must remember. If the TM asks if I am the lady of the house? I go into my rant about who are they ,where did they get my unsolicited # from and if they were privy to my info they would certainly know if I was the lady of the house.or not!!! They are usually trying to say something seemingly intelligent at this point and hang up. I hate TMs .The worst one we get is the State Troopers. They look for DH and have HU on me when I ask who is calling. So rude. The caller id usually gives them away tho. One was Ted E Bear  ......They actually have the nerve to tell you that if you donate and put the sticker on your car you won't get a ticket...Yeah right! DH kept telling them he wasn't interested , do not call list etc but they still try. Last time I told them he didn't live here anymore and that seemed to have worked....

OK. It is a workday. Seems too nice to be indoors but I can't complain as I sit right at the window. Hope everyone has a great day....

Monica, I agree.
My kids don't have their accounts yet but the rules are exactly what you posted above. I plan to monitor what they post because this is new for them.

Good morning all! I missed chat Friday night, because I layed down at 8 PM and that was the end of my night! I think I actually caught up on my sleep. Well the first sign of spring has arrived, signed dd up for softball yesterday. She's moving up to a new division, so she is now in kid pitched. She also can participate in the Home Run Derby and All Star game now.

We are going to see Penelope this morning and dd has a GS cookie booth this afternoon at a local JoAnn's. (Not good news for me to be so close to a craft store, with coupons!)

Now to do some ketchup!

Tell your daughter Congratulations on her Gymnastic Accomplishment (I wish I had the smilies Stacey has for gymnastics - they are great!) What Level is she competing?

I'm on my way this weekend to Charleston, SC for my daughter's Gymnastic Meet. I hope she does as well as your daughter did. Lisa (DD 13) competes at Level 10.

Good luck to your DD. I guess this is where UK & US differ. The event was for 8 & 9 year olds - I'm not sure it has another level. She has her first aerobic gym competition in a few weeks so I've just dropped her off for training. She's really enjoying it so I can't really ask for any more!

This is a great idea. I just told both boys they could go to the arcade if they saved the money ahead of time.

My two Children earn 'daddies $'' throughout the year for good homework and test results, good at home, and I deduct for anything bad, additionally on the flight over, if they are very good that will get them an arcade card.

It works very well, in-fact it acts on a limit to how much I spend on them on the cruise as they can only use the amount they have, They also get clever on it, purchasing one or two big items, Stephen a monorail set, and lots of extra track, for example, and PIN's on ship.

Good Morning!

It actually is kindof suny today...after the snow then rain yesterday...alot of the snow has started to melt......we are in our 30's so still cold...maybe I will go out today...maybe find another Macy's to run through-and take what i can....
I am looking for shoes too....we'll see what I get to!

Have a great day!

Chrissie

Still very windy here, the March Winds have come on time, this year.

I did & I thought I was safe. It does state that there are no hidden charges except for what your carrier may charge for a text message. They state it is simply a "sharing" site. Well don't you know that I haven't had any SPAM mail with my current email address until I registered at THAT site. Now I'm suddenly getting SPAM the last 2 days! :headache:  :sad2:

Here is a photo-log of my spouses' Task Force Macy 2-29-2008 findings with prices/values as of last nite...
< and she is NOT fully pictured as she demanded I NOT post her full photo on account of her incomplete make up, hair prep and so on... however, I still think she is the most beautiful wench to grace the 7 seas (that's with or without make up and "hair doing")
... and I usually prefer her "naturally" without the makeup an' stuff!

BTW....with that figure, I think Alicia would look great in a sack! ;)

I agree:thumbsup2 Crash your wife is beautiful and I imagine it is hard picking out clothes because everything would look great;)
My DH isn't a fan of makeup either:confused3

Thanks for your comments -- below is a picture of the middle daughter as Charlotte (she had a web on an upper level, but this was taken afterwards when it was easier to see the costume). She pointed out that she died in both her productions this year! Charlotte's death really, really got to me, but Captain Hook's was silly, of course. I congratulated the girl who played the crocodile afterwards and she said, "Thanks. Sorry I ate your daughter." which is certainly not something you hear that often!

WOW! She looks great:thumbsup2 Love the costumes and she looks RADIENT ;)

Laurie - Certainly, I'll try and do designs for anyone here! Obviously, there are only so many hours in a day, so some advance notice so I have a few weeks to fit it in is very helpful.

Pamela
Thanks so much:banana: I'll send you a pm:goodvibes

Hi everyone!

How are y'all doing? I haven't been around in awhile. I pop by on occasion to try to ketchup, but it is tough! I haven't posted in forever though. Sorry!

Anyway, I am getting really excited for the cruise. We are going to Disney World in 3 weeks as my son's High School marching band is playing there. So we of course used it as an excuse to have to go down there. After that, our next big thing will be the CRUISE! I can't wait.

My plans so far are looking to be this:

We are going to take the train from Milwaukee to Los Angeles. I have done many travels by train including to Florida, Texas and New Orleans. It is a really fun and RELAXING way to travel. I will be going with the kids alone and my husband will be flying out to LA to meet us there as he is trying to not take too much time off of work. We get a family bedroom and another little bedroom. The cost is almost exactly the same as flying but it adds a little extra time to the trip and some fun memories! AND, if anyone has even considered the train for cross country travel, I highly recommend it. The main reason I like it is that all the stress of running through an airport, getting through security (especially with 5 kids, UGH!), take off, landing, keeping the toddler quiet, not upsetting the people in front of or behind us, not having a panic attack (I HATE flying) paying for all your meals etc, is VERY tough. Instead, you get on the train, and just CHILL for a day or two. It is so easy and I think it helps put the distance in perspective for the kids. The scenery is amazing and it seems more real to me. When you take the train and get a sleeping room, the meals are included in the cost. ALSO, the most important part to me is that everyone on the train is so relaxed and pleasant! Everyone knows we are all in it for the long haul and we get there when we get there. Very stress free and a great way to start a TOAL!

So the train will leave Milwaukee on Monday evening getting into LA on Wednesday morning. We will then go to Disneyland staying at the Disneyland Hotel until Sunday. My husband will fly in on Friday morning to join us!

We are interested in getting on the bus from DL to the cruise port and the Secret Mickey and Wine tasting, so I will need to get in touch with those people!

We will then fly home on September 1st on the last flight out so we can spend a few hours at Disney World and the kids start school the next morning! Fun stuff.

So, a few things about me, one of the reasons I have been so crazy is that I am a manager of a Mortgage office. Needless to say, with all the news of the "mortgage meltdown" and the volatility of the rates and the housing market, it has been a tough several months for us. My staff is mostly younger people who have never seen anything like this! Plus all the chasing around of the kids and schoolwork. It is crazy!

Anyway, thanks for letting me remind you who I am and I look forward to being around more!
