Fascinating... the things they do now a days, eh?

You know what the problem with this is?? The model doesn't NEED spanx. It lulls us "Pooh size" people into a false sense of security.

Other cruise lines allow you to book as soon as you are paid in full, and Norwegian allows you to book at any time after the intial deposit.
I think DCL should let people book excursions and such as soon as you are paid in full. DCL's method of 90 days for repeaters, etc is awful. They DO know that this board, and others like it exist, and they DO know that they are going to get flooded....and they DO have the money to make a change in their system. There's no excuse for it.

Oops....off my soapbox now.

Hey, well I would agree with that, apart from a good idea so it staggers the booking, I think I was first to pay off this cruise and have paid of 65% of my 2009 one now!

But yes they need to sort this out its becoming a joke, and will put people off cruising with DCL, what happens when they have four ships and times for booking clash? more strain on their servers.

I decided to book private tours in the Med as I guessed it would and did happen there as well. So they loose out in income.

We just got in from the Daddy & Daughter dance... I'll edit some pictures in - in a few minutes - and we got one of her school mates to accept with going to Disneyland tomorrow. Hopefully we'll not get a last minute reversal again.

And Tina, like you ... I too missed friday nite chat. We had the regular gymnastics - but then I went and mentioned how Cheryl found a JC Penny sale where things were really marked down 95-98%... and my spouse flashed me those pretty eyes she always flashes me and asked if we could swing by JCP after gymnastics to "glance". How could I resist, eh?

Beautiful Picture!

My DH was suppose to take DD to the annual Father/Daughter Valentines dance last night, but DD decided at the last minute that the dance is lame now (ST!) & she'd rather just go have dinner with her Dad. I think DH was a little sad that DD is growing up sooooo fast, but they still had a nice dinner together. She was especially thrilled that Dad got her a new cell phone with all the bells & whistles she's been begging for.

As for chat...I wasn't there as long as usual, because it wasn't working right for me & I was tired & fed up. :sad2:

Here are a few pictures from last saturday when we drove up to the GRAPEVINE and Mt Pinos off Frazier Park. We had 3-4' of snow, threw some snow balls and did some sledding with a yellow plastic sheet and an inflatible snow tube. We had a pretty nice time with the girls having brought a nice neighbor girl.

Looks like you guys had a blast! :thumbsup2

You know, I never expected the answer of "What is Spanx"? to come from you!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to try me a pair of them Spanx! But notice how they always use models that don't need to use them in the first place??? :sad2:

Ooops just noticed Stace said the same thing! Great minds & all that!

What a great picture. It must have been a fabulous event.

The PFA (Parent - Faculty Association) put it on... and it only cost $3 per person. We went to flat annual donations and swept away all fund raising events. So this event was (like all of them now) at "cost" ... and it was fabulous in an understated way. I think I was the only Dad in a tux - however, 95% were in fair to polished suits. The kids ran around, and we had cookies and drinks, a DJ and a dancing trio on stage leading the antics at times. I imagine the DJ was donated as we had only 100-125 in attendance (estimated) .... and with $3 per person they could not have had funds for the DJ we had... and the flashy toy heart necklaces every girl got plus drinks and tasty treats.

And I'm sorry to have not taken more pictures ... however when I got into the Dance I ended up chatting with the other Dads ... and I was busy looking for a Dad who would let his daughter come to Disneyland with us... which turned out to be the 2nd Dad I asked. the 1st one accepte too - but a few minutes after accepting he had a call from his spouse reversing the acceptance. They had thier garandparents coming over and I was going to take thier daughter away for a couple hours of that visit and they realized the timing was not quite right after all.

At any rate - I have only these other 2 pictures from the dance with some of the girls running around on school grounds and at the snack table during the dance - I ended up shooting a couple of movie clips and I don;'t have a means of loading and sharing those clips...

The running girl in the background (not the one in the blue dress) is the one going with us to Disneyland today - This girl's also one of her Brownie Troop pals too - which is doubly nice.

I just booked a cruise on RCCLs Explorer of the Seas for next April vacation out of Bayonne, NJ! $4500 for 9 nts in a balcony cabin going to Puerto Rico, Domican, St. Thomas & Haiti & we don't have to fly! :woohoo:

DH was not thrilled at first..."I thought we were going to take a break from cruising?" Um I don't recall agreeing to such a thing??? :confused3 I didn't say anything for a day or two & he says, "Hey did you book that cruise yet?" "You can't beat the deal!"

Now I just have to hope that my new job allows me to take April vacation off!

Also

Happy Birthday Alan!

Tom,
Your little one looks worried that she's next in that picture:lmao:

Actually my spouse was next... but after THAT attempt - all future attemots on THAT sailing were suspended. OOoooo.... my aching back!

Hiya Tom,

Remember those fortune cookies and the £95m lottery, well there was six UK winners of £6 million each, and I won £32.30!

Attorneys name please!:goodvibes

My Friend, Andrew....

... may I suggest we go with Arbitration to avoid the dorsal fins and bite of the attorneys? No offense intended Tom...

< heh-heh-heh > ....

... and while I'm at it - may I suggest we employ Cheryl as our mutually binding arbitor - since I count her among the few individuals who may be secretly biased and in MY corner ... whom I might be able to bribe and influence to guarantee thier ruling on my side with a few Mickey Bars and a possibly couple of timely animation referrals. What do ya say Friend? Shall we move to Arbitration with Cheryl as the independent counsel with binding powers in this matter???

< yuk - yuk - yuk >

Well I can guarantee that my Sunday morning isn't as good as theirs!

If anyone sees the laundry fairy, can you please send her to my house????
I can live without really cleaning my house this week, but laundry is going to be an issue!.
A clean house is very over rated. :lmao: :lmao:

My son Andrew took forever to find a World of Warcraft avatar that met the DIS specs:rolleyes:
How old is Andrew. Bobby is 14 and he plays WoW alot too.

Congrats on your booking! Enjoy. Sounds very good.

Thanks Andrew!

I forgot to mention that I booked the very last balcony stateroom available for 4 people so apparently these sailings out of NY/NJ are very popular! There are a couple of Junior Suites available for $4900, but $400 buys a lot of Bahama Mamas! :yay:

:lmao: I agree with Cheryl, I think she will be on my side, and if I win £6 million from you she can have 10%.!

PS

Like your family photo's.

Yes $400 will pay for a lot of them, and well done on securing a verandah room, hope you get the time off though!

Everytime I see you post..... it makes John and I sad you won't be there with us.:sad2: I hope we get to see you the morning after we dock at PC.:flower3: :cheer2:

If you write to firstimers on the disboard. I am sure she will be glad to help. Just tell them Cheryl and John from the 10 Wonder sent you.:goodvibes

We'll be there - to make sure we are I've booked into the Radisson for the night before. Actually, this evening, my in-laws got round to booking theirselves into the Radisson as well.

Alex jogs round the ship - I saw him so many times in the evening when I was trying to find my Alex :rolleyes1
