:wave2: ..jus m>,,, i forgot..to mentioned...if you are feeling up
to it..make sure ...you visit..."the rock house". [ hocking hills].

* make sure your recovery..is complete..due to the challange
of walking..around cliffs....ps, it's an outstanding place....for
family pictures.., it is an astounding...work of
nature. pixiedust:

sure don't want you to be "laid up"..during our cruise..so don't
do any wild dancing...:dance3: ..., or peeping over the cliffs..
oh, no reason...ps, wild dancing..also means..getting up on the
tables.

I'm not sure where I'll be in the recovery process in June...but right now I can't even climb a small incline. No rocky areas either.
But even if I were 100% you won't see me on any cliffs...I'm afraid of heights. Deadly-panic-stricken afraid. I even have trouble looking over the railings on the top deck of the ship.

Hmmm...wild dancing.....I don't dare do THAT at the wedding. My darling daughter would be horrified!
I WAS once accused of dancing on a table at Wavebands.....but I'm INNOCENT I tell you!!

I really want to do the BOB excursion as well, but would have to leave my DD behind since she will only be 11. I found a company that has a very similar excursion called minisubs. But when I emailed them, the woman responding said that "if my daughter was only 11 she couldn't do it because she had to be 12". Well I'm not sure if it is wishful thinking or just her English, but I was hoping she meant that as long as I list her as 12 that she could go. Now, unless they check her passport, they wouldn't know that she wasn't 12 right ? Anyway, I have no problem leaving my DH behind, but I don't want to leave my DD behind:rolleyes:
Check out this site and sign your DH up for basket weaving or something;)
They have group rates for groups of 10 or more.

Looks interesting... I'm going to show my DS & we might join you if you want company... let me know if you book...
thx,
Penny

Thanks for the reminder - I need to have DH scan and print ours. Better add it to my list of things to do (and my is it a LONG list too!).

Isn't it funny there are days when we mark things off and then other days add a few more--mine keeps staying about the same size. It's the neverending list...:rotfl:

I've had to catch tarantulas and giant black sand scorpions and put them in jars for the kids to take to school.
:crazy2: :crazy2:
My husband says "kill it yourself" if I see an icky thing in the house. I guess it's good that he does that, since he isn't always home when they appear.

Yuck! You forgot to mention the toads!:scared:

Hi everyone!

Just a quick stop by - I've been MIA here for over a week. Life just got hectic again and we all keep getting this cold. We are probably passing it around. It isn't really being "Sick" - just stuffy nose, a little achy and tired. It goes away after a few days and you think you are over it and then comes back for a repeat!

I've been using my little bit of free time on the PC in the evening for a couple other projects rather than DISing. Someone from the DISigns forum asked me to do a group of designs for her. I used to do a lot of these, but since this thread started I really don't hang out over there anymore. Mostly I do variations on the same general idea - person's name with characters all around it. The original idea started with someone else, but when she was overwhelmed with requests a few others stepped in to help out. I sort of have my own "style" for these and every so often someone finds me and asks for some. I enjoy doing them, but they eat up time. (If anyone is curious, you can see them at http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a301/pdarrah/T-Shirt Designs/ )

My other big project is trying to get 8 years of digital photos organized and cataloged. I first looked at this last summer and got overwhelmed and never really got started (didn't even make a final decision on what software to use!) When I got my new XTi for my birthday I revisited the project and reallized that there are now 1000 more uncatalogged files than there were last fall. Even if I just start from today forward, I'm still better off than not doing it at all.

Unfortunately, between all the other stuff in my life (work, housework, driving DS around, music lessons, PTO, Garden club, etc.) and these other projects - DIS time has been pretty non-existant lately. Hopefully I haven't missed anything really important here - if I have, could someone point me at it since I don't think I am going to try to ketchup, but just try and keep-up from here! :thumbsup2

Pamela

Pamela, I hope you all get rid of the bug that keeps on a coming. Your signs are cute! I have done pretty good at keeping my digitals in order--it's the older ones I would love to scan on to the computer. Now they may be in order but there are tons that need to be deleted. Good luck with your organizing.:)

G'mornin' pirate:s

I haven't had a chance for ketchup, but I'm jumping back in before I get left behind!

Life is slightly crazier than usual right now. I was home for a whopping 45 minutes on Sunday between 0630 and 8 pm & Saturday wasn't much better. Plus my organization is moving this week, so I've been so busy that I haven't had time for my usual Dis snacking throughout the day.

One of our events on Sunday was DS9's hockey game in Fredneck. Kristina stopped by the rink for a bit - it was great to see you K & awesome for you to come out to an oh-so-exciting kids hockey game! After the game, as DS was taking his gear off, I called him out of the locker room to introduce him to Kristina. He held out his hand to shake hers & said "Nice to meet you". I was so proud...he was so polite...except for the fact that he accomplished all this with his mouthguard still in his mouth! Kids.

I hope everyone is doing well.

:welcome: aboard to all the newbies

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

Have a great Tuesday

This is what we're really praying for. He's sick of working contracts, with the promise of being hired full time, just to have them cut his contracts short, with no back up job in place! The Omaha job would be a blessing, no contract, close to family, lower cost of living, and I'm sure Mom would like having another option of where to stay when she comes to visit! He's still keeping his eyes open her in Columbus though, just in case.

Please come back and post to let us know if he got it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both!

I have great admiration for you. I have real issues with 8 legs. My GP referred me for help & the psychologist just made me worse! I understand how the therapy was suppposed to work, i.e. confront your fears by repeatedly watching arachnophobia, but all it made me do was continually check my slippers & cereal boxes! Now with the girls I have to be more brave & managed to throw a casserole dish over the one in the eldest's slipper. Unfortunately DH was away for 2 weeks so I had to ring MIL to dispose of it after a couple of days as I didn't know what else to do - it was still alive as I don't want them dead. just not near me

Peculiar vanity plate sighting.......MOO FREE

What do you think....Vegan, lactose intolerant or pro-pleather?

Can't wait for March 4th. I am ready for our Primary Elections to be overwith! I think Hillary is stalking us. We have gotten like 8 phone calls from her in the past couple of weeks. I think she keeps calling back because we are hanging up on her. When will she take the hint? Hill, we are just not that into you.

I was so excited when I found it. Do you think I could get away with putting my DD down as 12:confused3
Darren thinks it's too risky, but I think she could go snorkeling if it turned out that we needed to prove that she was 12:confused3 They don't have a lot of the minisubs and I think people snorkel while waiting their turn. Or course she would be so upset if left out, but DH probably wouldn't mind just snorkeling with her. Not sure what to do:scratchin
Do we even need to carry around our passports in Cabo San Lucas ?

Laurie, I can't imagine they would ask for ID . . . I would go for it . . .:thumbsup2

Vegan, I'm guessing!

I know -- I kept getting those "robo-calls" before our primary . . . I finally stayed on the line and listened to one all the way through and I still got more, so I don't think it affects anything one way or the other!

Morning all :goodvibes Hope everyone has a great day.

So I have been dragging (with the promise of food and cake samples) Brendan to all these wedding expos. So we have met some good photogs and djs. But the main reason I like to go is the swag....free stuff! So I gather all the free stuff (some were fresh orchids!) and enter all the contests....we have won dance lessons and now..just got the call....$300 towards laser hair removal!!!!

Can't wait to tell him!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

My guys could use this.:rotfl2:

Hope your family feels better. I have co workers with the same thing. Back and forth. They don't know we spray down their work station with Lysol when they leave.

I have tons of slides and negatives I have been scanning into the computer. What a job..........The bad thing is if the slide is not perfect exposure, the scanner won't do it. So I have another pile of the ones I need to come up with Plan B with. I brought my photos to work one Sunday and arranged them sort of and that took the whole day. Unfortunately found more:eek:

You mark things off? I never seem to be able to do that.

Maybe I should add "Post to the DIS" to my list.

Here in TX I can completely relate. We never got any ads before. Everything was usually decided way before the time the primaries got here but not this year. If you listen to the ads they all sound perfect. Amazing how you can spin things.
Between Hill and Bill- I am staying home to avoid getting stuck in traffic from a motorcade. They are are all over Dallas.

You did great on those!!

So, a few threads on the main cruise board have me thinking about something I'm sort of afraid to ask...but I'll go ahead and do it since we all seem to be able to respect one another's opinions and I'm pretty sure we can have a conversation without anyone being called a good or bad parent & if the discussion takes a turn, we can leave it here on this thread that is about to be shut down anyway...here goes...

We have about a million pirate kids between 8 & 12, so I ask parents - what are your thoughts on sign out privileges for your tweens?

This is the first time the monkeys have been close to an age that we can even think about it.

Oh my goodness!! I would have thought that was a normal "phobia". Just because I saw a dead mouse in my driveway, all night I am convinced one is going to jump in bed with me.
I'd say you are in good shape. :thumbsup2
