PS..Well they are not real pirate: posts anymore, as the previous thread's ended on odd numbers, and not a round thousand, the actual pirates continued form thread 1, would be in different places, so who knows you might have had one in part 2 or part 3?

( or shouldnt I say that?)

Is this math I'm seeing without a math alert ???

I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

Thank you, Lisa!!!! There are so many of us here on this thread that are supportive, Andrew really shouldn't have asked for anyone to be singled out, but it was very nice to be mentioned by you.

Need some help here.....

My Mom and her boyfriend are in Florida for a few weeks. He has never been to WDW and has refused to go (probably due to guilt of never having taken his kids??), but my Mom is either dragging him there or got him to agree to go for one day.

She is thinking either Animal Kingdom (he's a hunter and has been on safari, etc.) or EPCOT. She wants me to scout out/suggest a few attractions for them to see/do.

Limitations: just keep walking to minimum (e.g. options for return trip by boat, tram, etc.)

Your thoughts?

I'm going to go with the majority and say Epcot too. It's a long walk around World Showcase, but they can rent an ECV. Or they can just take a really slow walk, grab a snack or drink at each country, sit on a bench, and people watch or just take in the scenery.

Dh and I were just looking through the DCL excursions for Cartagena, and found this one which might be quite interesting, but not very suitable for kids.

Dh thinks it is a deal for only $49! :lmao:

City Drive, Shopping and La Popa

After your 20-minute shopping spree, embark on a 15-minute drive to the famed walled city and marvel at the plethora of colonial buildings and age-old fornications around every corner. Make your way to the modern residential area known as Bocagrande, home to vast array of hotels, shops, eateries, night clubs and art galleries, and snap a picture of the long stretch of sun-kissed sand and breathtaking blue water in the distance. Finally, travel to the Pierino Gallo Shopping Center, and soak up the local flavor as you indulge in a bit of shopping amidst some of the finest gold, emerald and handcraft retailers in the city. After your hour-long visit, sit back and relax as you begin your 30-minute return trip back the ship.
****************************************************

OMGoodness....they are around EVERY CORNER! I thought this was a family cruise!! :rotfl2:

It's only so cheap because the fornications are, in fact, "age-old".

Oh my gosh...poor MrScooby! I can imagine his reaction after the 10th person or so asked him where his tiara is!

It would have been even funnier if I hadn't said something to warn him. He's already thinking of some sarcastic replies:rolleyes:

Very nice.

I'm definitely not pulling your chain. I already wear my tiara in the parks. You'll have proof once you see pictures from our March DL meet.
Ooooh, good:thumbsup2 Can't wait to see the pics:woohoo:

JumperPoster_001.jpg

I was wonderin' about that one. I just saw "Jumper" yesterday. I'm partial to the fantasy / sci-fi flicks and I enjoied it - in spite of it's short comings. I vaguely recall the last flick I saw before that one was National Treasure (the new one) and then "I am Legend" before that.

13legend-600.jpg
Gotta see Jumper tomorrow:goodvibes I really liked "I am Legend". I'm also partial to the fantasy/sci fi flicks:thumbsup2

Don't call yerself short until you've met MY spouse. She's a size ZERO petite for some things - otherwise a size 2 petite for the rest of the manufacturers and cuts. An' as such I am not quite sure HOW tall she really is... curious eh? I been with her how many years ... or rather ... decades ... and I don't know precisely how TALL or heavy she is?
And that is as it should be;) No way am I gonna let me DH see my weight:rolleyes1

Is your dh from Missouri? ;)
No, Apparently that is typical lingo for Yorktown Heights NY as well:confused3

Doesn't he know it's what all the best dressed guys will be wearing? That and Roger's pumps!

So now the guys are in thongs, pumps and tiara's.....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Maybe I don't want to be on this cruise...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm happy to get my men in a tux, thank you:woohoo: I'll have to do most of the packing because DS and DH will bring their oldest, crudiest clothes if I let them. Read a post somewhere where the wife had packed for her husband and forgot to pack his underwear:lmao: Bet those thongs weren't looking so scary then:rolleyes1

Tried that originally but I think the only reason I got it was I had just pre-ordered the 2208 guide. I will search on Passporter and see if it finds it.
Thanks for the suggestion

I wonder how many ships Disney will have in 2208? I think they are being a bit ambitious in publishing a guide for that far in the future.

(Andrew missed the Oscar category for snarkiest respones to serious posts. I think I'd win that in a landslide.)

I finally made it to 1000 posts!

And it only took me 4 years. Although well over half of those posts have been on this set of threads in the past year.

So here is my 1000th post story:

Linda and I were looking into renewing our wedding vows at Disney World for our 15th anniversary. All of the options looked incredible, but the timing wasn't good, since it would be just after I graduate and start my full-time job. Plus it was really stinkin' expensive for what we wanted to do.

wedding1.jpg

So then I had the brilliant idea of renewing our vows while on the TOAL. I figured the boys and I will have tuxedo rentals anyway, and the girls needed dresses for formal night. So, with visions of a romantic renewal on formal night, I made my call to Disney's Fairytale Weddings.

The girl that I talked to checked her computer and found out that every vow renewal slot for our cruise was already booked. Once we decided to do the vow renewal, we were really looking forward to it, so we were disappointed.

Then I got the idea to call back and ask to be put on a waitlist. Since she wasn't sure if there was such a thing, I got put on a waitlist to be called back to see if I could be put on a waitlist.

Then I waited.

And waited.

Linda and I went to lunch a few days later. Linda mentioned how nice it would have been to renew our vows on the ship or on Castaway Cay. That's when it clicked that I only asked about onboard renewals, and not Castaway Cay. So when we got home, I made Linda call to ask. (I figured they were sick of me calling by this point)

Hey Crew -
I'll miss chat tonight. DS6 learned how to ride his bike today, and is currently out with his big brother on his first around the neighborhood bike ride. :woohoo: :woohoo:

OK, they've been gone for 30 minutes, and DH just went out to patrol the neighborhood. They might have got stuck some place. DS6 isn't very good at getting started yet.

In any case, we'll be celebrating this life altering achievement at John's Incredible Pizza Company tonight.

Surprisingly, the vow renewal on Castaway Cay was still open!!!!! We booked it right then and there! So we're renewing our vows on Castaway Cay at the end of our Trip Of A Lifetime! What a memorable way to end a fantastic trip.

what a great accomplishment !!

Sowing since before 5 am here and is supposed to snow all through the night, upwards of 12 inches by the time it is all said and done. I'm hoping that this is the last big one for the year.

Here, here. I hate snow. Never will I understand why I continue to live in Massachusetts and expect winter to end in February. :confused3 Over the weekend I heard daffordils are blooming in Atlanta; we still have them in June!

Off to shovel!
