Hi everyone!
We are trying to decide whether to just bite the bullet and buy our tickets now, or wait. Choices choices.
It is cheaper right now for us to go into LAX.... We'll probably buy them, the waiting is killing me.

I always seem to kill threads, which I did not think was possible on this one.
Please everyone keep posting....lol

We're not dead ...just getting ready for the switch over from east to west coast...

Time for bed :faint:

Michelle - I am sure you haven't managed to kill the thread (if I haven't done it, it probably isn't possible :lmao: )

I think a lot of folks are watching TV tonight. The show seemed to be "Lost", but I have only seen bits of it and I have decided that the name is very appropriate - I was totally "Lost"! Since I rarely have time for TV, I try not to watch shows that you need to see every week....

I couldn't take the waiting to book the airline tickets either. We booked our flight out to LA (Orange County airport) using our United FF miles. I sort of hated to do it since it feels like we are "losing" half the value using them for a 1-way ticket (United won't let you use FF miles for "split" flights :headache: ) but when I checked SW today, the flight would have been $247 each so I am happier about using the FF miles now! Also, we have a good flight time for us (after work on the 14th) and a direct flight - the best we could have done with SW was a 5:40pm flight (have to leave work early) and it has a stop at Phoenix. We are flying Air Tran home on Sept 1st - I was afraid to wait on that ticket because Labor Day could be a very busy flying day.

Pamela

We're having Kolaches tonight....compliments of OKCity Public Schools! pirate:

I am part Chzech. Just a little part(mostly French).:thumbsup2 I remember be able to buy them in a bakery shop when I was young!!!:woohoo:

Happy 1st Thread Anniversary. Hard to believe it's been one year since the booking madness!!!

How are you doing????:confused3 Come to chat once in awhile.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello.

My DH Rick and I will be cruising with you all in August. I did say hello on the last thread, but it was so established I got lost in all the discussions that had already taken place. We're flying over from the UK on 15th and staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

We've done quite a few disney cruises - we sailed with some of you in September 2006 on the 11 day and most recently in October with a great bunch of Dissers, some of which are also on this trip.

Can't wait to be sailing through the canal. We've made our decisions on excursions and I've signed on to the website, so I think we're all set until the 90 day point. We're on deck 6 but no room number yet.

Anyone heard anything about Yellow Fever Vaccinations - are they required by DCL?

Anyway...hope to join in with the chatter over the remaining 7 months.:)

I guess I was too involved in the pirate!!:rotfl2:
Welcome aboard!!!

Pamela

Yeah the Labor Day is what I am afraid of too....especially since we HAVE to get the kids to school the next day.

Now I'm not much of a ring person, but that is gorgeous:love:

Someone told me to be real careful if getting an emerald ring (something about them being easily cracked:confused3 )

I would love to get an emerald!!! :thumbsup2 I think I will have more trouble getting DH off the ship in Columbia. He is listening to many people from work telling him not to get off the ship.:sad2: :sad2:

Regarding Dining Assignments

If you are wait listed for early dining, I would suggest that you
  1. Check the DCL on line system and see if you were changed, if not
  2. Call your TA or DCL and ask to change
Many people who were WLE have been cleared to early and all of the new pirate:s (meaning booked within last two months) signing up have either been early dining or wait listed for late.

If you would stop locking him out, you wouldn't have the problem. Maybe if you just gave him his own key, I think he's big enough for it now!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for the info to everyone Tom!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: I couldn't believe DCL is now wait listing for late doning. I guess we are a whole lot of traitors.::rolleyes: Sorry Capatain!!!:rolleyes1

Multi quote didn't work...
Chrissie, your dress is beautiful!

OMG!!! I would die without multi quote. :rotfl: I would kill the board without it.:lmao: :lmao:

Yeah, but less signs = more packing space. I could really go overboard with signs, but decided against it.

Here's my fav that a DISigns person made for me.

piratetink.jpg

Very you!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's why we have 3 desktops and work laptop....

No wonder I can never get a pirate.:goodvibes

I really don't know for sure ... it happened to my mother's engagement ring, but she was doing some welding at that time (long story!) and the jeweler told her it was the heat from that which caused her emerald to crack. She was "lucky" in that it broke into 2 nearly identical pieces and they were able to re-cut them and put them into earings for her. They warned her then that emeralds shouldn't be in extremes of temperature (also, opals shouldn't get wet! - she had one of those crumble to dust) so her other ring with an emerald gets taken off when she cooks (she doesn't weld anymore...)

We're even crazier - 4 desktops, 1 laptop and work laptop for only 3 people! :rotfl2: What is sad is that sometimes DH and I fight over the laptop! The whole mess is setup with a wireless network (includes a repeater in order to get a good signal throughout the house).... All this and we STILL can't work the stupid VCR - DH and I failed at taping his CNN appearance!

Pamela

Did you call the station to see if you can get a tape of it???:confused3

Leaving at 5 am. for train to Chicago on Friday. Off to Michigan for son's wedding on Saturday. We now have 5 inches of snow so far!!!!!!

Please not too much chatting while I am gone for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice weekend!!!:grouphug:

.... edit.....

On the podcast they said they had hired someone to write a script to break the super-long threads into managable sizes. They will return, but broken up into multi-part versions. I assume that it will take a little while for this coder to get their script written and then it will just need to be run for each of the long threads.

Well... it seems to me as if we're behind a certain amount of complication for the DIS providers. But then again, what ARE we to do it there simply are a lot of us with something nice to say and share every now and then? And besides, the traffic does lead to better revenue for thier business model.

Cheryl -

- You go and have a great time now - ya hear!!! I really enjoy trains - it is such an unusual and exotic mode of travel - especially in foreign countries like Illinois and such! < "wink" > And you can TRUST INNOCENT OL' ME to encourage everyone to keep the chatter down to a low RUMBLE in your absence, OK?

I'm confused .. I'm seeing all these great rates to fly to LAX and they are much cheaper than mine :sad2: . I got $288 today for Buffalo to LA on SWA with one stop in Chicago. We are not changing planes, so it is just a 30 minute layover on the plane. (I figure this would be safer than having to change planes.) I thought this rate was good, until I read the rates all of you are getting. I guess it is good to me as the cost of flights out of Toronto are so much higher with all the taxes we have to pay the government.

I did investigate Jet Blue, but they don't fly out of Buffalo to LA, only to Longbeach. The price of this flight ranges from 259 to 299, so it is not that much cheaper. Can you Californians tell me if the Longbeach airport is close to LA/Hollywood? I will be staying in LA for a few days before the cruise.

Anyhow, I plan on keeping a watch on the SWA rate and if it drops, I will take the credit. I am flying out to Florida in December, so any credit I get, I can use then.

Did you try kayak.com? I like how it pulls up almost all the airlines:)

If you do the DCL transfers, do you just check in your bags right there at the hotel and not have to deal with them again til they show up in your room? If so, it might be worth the $$$ to not have to juggle the 3 kids and 10 suitcases

That's the best part Mike:cool1:

just had to stop in and say

:wizard: HAPPY ONE YEAR BOOKING ANNIVERSARY!!!!:wizard:

the time certainly has flown and I am betting the next few months will as well!!!!:) :wizard:

Darlene, where in the world have you been:) :)

Shannon, I love the new picture of the kids...they're really growing!!!
I've been meaning to tell you that for a while and kept forgetting.

thanks so much!! i really gotta get a new pic though....i'm DONE with christmas!! LOL!!!

Wow I could've flown $108 from RI to Ont (I think) with 1 stop, arriving at 9pm!

Oh well I paid double going out of BOS, non-stop, arriving at 10am with a TV. So I guess I have to convince myself that I'm paying for the convenience. :sad2:
we are paying for convenience too...but i couldn't be happier! we are flying jet blue out of buffalo into Long beach. we flew SW last year, and ended up not being able to sit with our kids!!! ds who was 9 and dd who was 7 were 5 rows ahead of me, and dh was about 4 or 5 rows ahead of them!!...it really ticked me off that the flight attendants didn't do more to help us sit closer to each other, even when we asked. thank goodness it was a semi-short flight...but dd was totally freaking out not being with a parent!!
we did fly jet blue a few years ago, and loved it! the spacious seats...the tv....can't wait!!

Roger: Raleigh is so cute! :dogdance:

ooohhh...he is just the cutest little pup!! add me to the list that wants to squoosh him!!

We're not dead ...just getting ready for the switch over from east to west coast...

Time for bed :faint:

it is time for bed...i don't know why i'm still up! ugh!! i'm on the east coast, but always seem to be up when the west coast folks are here! i really should be in bed....morning comes too quickly!! hopefully i'll have no troubles adjusting to the time diff in august!! LOL!!!

there's still of bunch of cruisers with gty too....

Thus both times should be overbooked...

If you want WLE then link with the capt's group for dining (more info soon) and many of you who want early should be able to get changed....

:worship: i owe it all to Roger.... (not being here)

(where is he anyway....?)

Congrats Kristina!! :thumbsup2 Looks like the wenches had the swabbies out numbered this afternoon. I see our 2 swabbies (Andy and Tom) prematurely posted. I was off visiting my DF who got out of the hospital and is now in a transitional care unit for a couple of days before going home.

Well I shopped around on-line & the least expensive I found was for a Milano 43" black rolling garment bag for 49.88 at Walmart. Bought 2 & got free shipping. I was not looking for high end luggage & they seemed to get good reviews so that was good enough for me!

0001527271620_215X215.jpg

Thanks Diane, that is exactly what we are looking for. Something that will carry the 27 princess dresses and my tux at a reasonable price.

Roger...all of these pictures of Raleigh are giving me "puppy ache".

The kids have been "hounding" us (bad pun) for another dog since we lost our beloved sheltie, Beau, last June. We still have Sloopy, but they want a second dog. We told them we would probably get one after the cruise, but pictures of your sweet puppy are making me want one now!!!

Thanks Deanna, we have been without a dog for 3 years now and I finally got talked into getting one even though the timing is terrible. I have had dogs all my life but it was sure nice not having to plan our lives around babysitting one when we wanted to go somewhere.
