Just thought I'd pop in and say hello.

My DH Rick and I will be cruising with you all in August. I did say hello on the last thread, but it was so established I got lost in all the discussions that had already taken place. We're flying over from the UK on 15th and staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

We've done quite a few disney cruises - we sailed with some of you in September 2006 on the 11 day and most recently in October with a great bunch of Dissers, some of which are also on this trip.

Can't wait to be sailing through the canal. We've made our decisions on excursions and I've signed on to the website, so I think we're all set until the 90 day point. We're on deck 6 but no room number yet.

Anyone heard anything about Yellow Fever Vaccinations - are they required by DCL?

Anyway...hope to join in with the chatter over the remaining 7 months.:)

I get 14 vacations hours because I have over 15 years, when I hit 20 yrs I get 16 a months.

oooooooh wait just remembered something.... After July, i will have been here 2 years and will get almost 10 hours a month :cool1: .

Hopefully i'll Start to get that with my July hours...

(They give us the whole months hours on the first check of each month)

I don't remember who was asking about pictures of our new puppy but here are a couple of photos of Raleigh.

Your criter is a charmer! Our critter is getting pretty old. Regretfully, in a few years there may be a vacancy in our home for a 4 pawed critter.

I just bought 4 of these for our trip so we can each have our own wheeled carry on. This way I won't hear, "Mom can I have my gum, Ipod, magazine, etc." Plus I'm hoping the more we can stick in these babies the more room I have in the suitcases. I'm also going to buy a couple of rolling garment bags, because I realized with tuxes & dresses that one just isn't going to cut it. Now if I can keep everything else in 1 good sized suitcase a piece we should be okay....I hope! :headache:

Welcome fellow Brit, I fly in on BA on the 13th and am staying at DL hotel as well.

You will not need any jabs for the cruise!

Where in the UK?

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but SWA just opened up its booking window to Aug. 22/08 for those wanted to book!

We're preparing to book our return flight seeing as we reside near LA. Jet Blue seems to charge $175 for a one way from MCO to LAX. Plus we have a few families jetting in from Hawaii and Boston to met the ship. Gotta get cranking on my recommendations soon.

Hi Andrew, we're flying Virgin. Excellent news about the jobs as I hate needles.

i keep thinking that about our older lab Casey..... Regretfully, i think she might outlive us all...... a true alpha...

If I had it my way - I'd visit WDC cuz there's sooo much I havn't seen. The last time we were ther was a about 6 years and 7 months ago (+/- a month) and we had just had the birth of our 1st daughter, Julianna. In fact, that LA to WDC flight was her very first flight. We were sort of experimenting with what it might be like to travel with a child as - right at 3 months of age for J we were scheduled to attend the wedding of my BIL in Bangkok Thailand - followed by a 2nd reception in Honolulu. And I really couldn't bow out because #1) I had only been offerred the privilage of being best man once before and #2) it was my BIL, and #3) I'd never been best man to a wedding where 1500 people were coming to the reception. But that leads into another LONG story best left for another posting perhaps.

So, we needed a tiny bit of practice - and the WDC trip was first on the schedule for us to try. And on that trip we sort of learned a lot about what we could and could not do enroute and away from home. The only thing we did outside of camping in the hotel was a trip to the near by WDC Zoo.

The DC trip was a working trip for Alicia and for myself. Her company at the time allowed a nursing mom to bring baby with a care provider - me - so I got to go on my nickle to fly - but got to stay in her hotel on her companys' nickle thus saving me some in hotel expense while getting my work done. Except we had a child in tow. At any rate.... here's a couple early pictures of that actual flight (I think???)....

I'm pretty sure these were from the flight - cuz J's 1st flight we were invited up front to sit in the pilots' seat! And this Mom and baby napping picture was near the pilot picture in numerical sequence.

How sweet Crash,

Tom you will great in these at the PJ breakfast. :rotfl2:

OMG!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow, only one measley post for me :sad1: Guess I'm gonna have to get moving on upping that post count

Happy Booking-Anniversary fellow pirate: My booking story goes something like this ... logged onto the site at 8:00, and found a price for an inside cabin ... just wanted to get on the ship. Told DH the price, figured it out by night to ease the sting When he said to me, "How much for a window? I know you and you won't be happy without natural light in the cabin for fifteen nights." Guess after all these years, he might just *know* me

Have a great day everyone

~Kandi

Perfect plan.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I was asking for the pictures Roger!!:goodvibes Raleigh is adorable!!:flower3: Too bad puppies, kittens, and children have to grow-up.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

TY TY TY TY

Now booked both ways!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :

So no backing out now!!!:yay: :yay:

Laura, We really are alike. I just had to replace my phone because it was lost/stolen. I lost it at church, but it showed up at the local hospital about 5 miles away. I hadn't been to the hospital in months. Mark thinks my phone had a cameo in Transformers and still had its ability to grow legs and travel.
Of course, my phone was found AFTER I had purchased a new one at full price since it was in the middle of my contract.

I left my phone at a pizza place.:rolleyes1 Realized I lost it and went back to the restaurant. Called my cell phone and their garbage can started ringing.:lmao: :lmao:

:cool1: Thanks for the S'west heads-up ... just booked our flights out to LAX on August 15th :cool1:

Still wondering if I'll have a new job and a new house by then :confused3 At that point it won't matter cuz we'll be going on our TOAL :woohoo:

Hi Andrew, we're flying Virgin.

Last time on the 2005 Repo I flew Virgin PE, and have usually booked Virgin PE/UC to Orlando for my WDW Visits.

This time BA was cheaper and also fly earlier than Virgin to LAX, and their website booking opened up a month in advance of Virgin, with school holiday dates fixed, I couldnt afford to not get my flights sorted, and I flew BA in 2007 and they were good.

Maybe Virgin for 2009 Orlando.

Crash, are you encouraging me to shamefully post fluff in order to inflate my post count? :confused3

Well between the Dis Board and our Comcast hook up that maybe a little tough!

"Shameful" is my secret society, super secret, rarely utterred middle name... that and the post name title I hold as "the suspicious".

Thank you I've been waiting!

I've probably been "waiting" too long to book or study booking myu air fares. Then again, I've been so busy with recent travel, and planning and booking for travel that comes BEFORE our August sailing that I've simply been swamped with this and dat. It's enuf to make a swabbie not notice a pirate posting sprint is looming.... < "wink" >

Yes, I know what you mean. We managed to get our outward PE journey paying for one and getting a free companion flight. The returns from Orlando we were not so lucky as they had no companion flights on offer, so we had to pay for both PE seats. We were hoping to upgrade to first class for the return, but this will have to wait for 2009.

Firstly re jab's, we do not get off in Panama, so we are safe, and most of the time we will eat the ship food, there is enough of that, you are only at risk, if you eat the local food, or drink non bottled water.

Normal UK jabs will cover you nothing extra required.

On the Flights, I have shed-loads of Virgin miles and wanted to use them, but Virgin was very slow, I contacted them, and they were disinterested in my booking.

BA, couldn't do enough to help me, so I thought I would try out their Club world seats and see what its all about.

I will try to use my Virgin miles in 09, for WDW. Some expire that year.

And now for my 2000th post.

I think that it is fitting that this is occurring on the anniversary of our booking. Just thinking to myself today that we have all know each other for a whole year now and still have 7 months to go. Anyway from all of you back East that think that we are sitting around under plam I mean palm trees sipping umbrella drinks here is a photo from around the corner. Good thing is that the s***w is over there and we are over here.

And another one of Raleigh

My thoughts exactly M..... Times weren't the best either. I have no urge to spend 7.5 hours in flights with connections to boot...

After discussion with DH..... We pulled the trigger and ............................

Are flying out on the 14th from Dulles for $169 each on Jet Blue.

It's only like $30 per person more than SW but we get satellite and tv and FOOD and assigned seats and the best part A NON STOP FLIGHT. That last part alone is worth the $30....

Your not wearing your mink today are you?

I only fly non-stops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: We missed a connecting flight only once and it will never happen again!!! The extra $30 is worth every penny of it.:flower3:

oh..micmse..didn't u "grits it?"..you needed to been on the 11~nighter,
right crasher?

Maybe it was fate that I went on the 10 nighter.:cheer2: I would not have met Daipp or Stph5.:thumbsup2 Now I get to meet both of you this time around.:yay: :yay:

:thumbsup2 ..so who "put"..crash ..in his "proper" place?

..my gues..his wife...finally figured..how to "tied"..him down!

I cant' wait to met her!!!:worship: :worship:

i have an appointment on saturday morning to get our passports done...

Luckily i haven't filled out the forms yet (pays to procrastinate in this case)

The passport women called us on Tuesday to warn us that the applications were changing effective 2/1 (tomorrow) and won't be available until that date. GREAT

Fees are going up slightly too.... DOUBLE GREAT...

Luckily the processing fee is slightly less but passport part is more so not much more than a couple dollar increase....

Got my MUG SHOT today for passport...I'll have to post later.. DH looks like an axe murdurer. I look like a convict.... TRIPLE GREAT....

Only $3 a passport.:headache:
