Looks like we will be on the new thread by tonight.:sad2: Going to the movies so hopefully will be on chat later.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Total Saved Shopping today $801. 89.........I spent 47.38 with tax!!!

Looks like with all the money I have been saving John....I can afford to buy a lot more. I bought a $180 coat for $16.11 and another coat $190 for $16.97!!!:cheer2: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:  :cool1: :lmao:

Now that's what I call bargain shopping.

Sunday will be the Official 5 month mark :woohoo: :woohoo: I think at this point I might have it beat , there still those short moments that I would love to burn one but in the long run I know its better to leave them alone ... Though I may celebrate on the cruise with a nice Cuban :smokin:

DON'T DO IT TODD!

My FIL had quit for 2 years. Then he had a cigar with DH after our first DS was born. Went right back to a pack or two a day for the next 5 years.

Quit cold turkey 3-4 years ago after he had 95% artery blockage and nearly died.

Holy cow, Cheryl!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Was that sale just for today?? If not, I'll take DD tomorrow.

Still tomorrow too!!! :dance3: :dance3: They were reducing while we were there. Oprah is going to my store tomorrow to shop!!! (I am sure for not bargains but for some makeover she is doing for her show).

Even I'm intrigued. But I have no idea where the nearest JC Penney is.

And I am so over Penney's. It was the only department store where I could shop for clothes in Alaska. We also had Sears and Nordstrom, but I hate Sears clothes and Nordy's was more than I want to spend.

Those little "moments" never really disappear. I quit over 10 years ago and I still get cravings. I even dream about it! Then I wake up and say "You idiot, what were you thinking?" :rotfl2:

Let me tell you, I was never so happy to see February appear on the calendar. If this is what 2008 is going to be like, I'm going back to bed and waking up when it is 2009. Let's see....

a) started a new position at work, one I thought would finally resolve my year in limbo, then the whole company imploded to the point no job is safe, so now I am working 12 hour days trying to fix a mess someone made last year knowing it is likely all for naught.

b) DS14 suffered a bad case of frostbite on his feet because he is an idiot. (Got locked out at a swim meet and walked outside in 0 degree weather with no shoes and no shirt)

c) My long-lost, presumed dead, brother apparently ran up huge debts before disappearing a few years ago, leading to nightly calls from bill collectors trying to find him, including one who claimed I was hiding him in my house that led me to have to call the sheriff's office.

d) Someone in the house had the flu just about every day in January, including DS14 getting violently ill on our way to a travel meet when we were miles from nowhere.

e) Did I mention we've been up to our ears in s*** and my snowthrower broke and since DS14 was hurt I've been having to shovel all by myself?

Anyway, enough whining. February hasn't been too bad...yet. Light at the end of the tunnel and all that.

Oh, hello, Mr. on-coming freight train.

Sorry to hear of you misfortune JR. Sometimes life seems to resemble a vacuum cleaner or as pictured below.

Todd, My Dad had a very hard time quitting smoking. The only thing that worked for him was hypnosis:confused3

I wouldn't recommend the cigar. Either one of two things will happen.
1) You'll find you don't enjoy it as much as you thought. In which case, was it really worth it?

2) You'll enjoy it too much and be back where you started:confused3

Either way, you're better off not even risking it.

I'm not the smoking police. I'm not going to give you a hard time if I see you smoking. I have too many issues of my own that I'm battling to pass judgment on someone else:rolleyes:

If you haven't tried hypnosis, maybe give it a try and see if it works to get rid of any remaining cravings:confused3

Good luck pirate:

That was my favorite song when I was about 5. I can't imagine what my parents were thinking when I walked around the house singing it!

So, J.R.’s debt calls remind me of a similar situation that we are dealing with. Not a relative, but annoying none-the-less. Obviously, when we moved to VA, we got a new home phone number. Well, it turns out that the phone company didn’t let the number go dormant for very long before re-assigning it to us – and the previous owner was apparently a deadbeat & international matchmaker!

Let’s see, we’ve gotten constant calls from a 2 credit card companies, GMAC and a mortgage company. The calls eventually stop, but it has caused me to have some interesting conversations. I’ll call the number left on voice mail and get lost in phone loop h-e-double-hockey-sticks. Please enter account number…uh, don’t have one…please enter social security number…uh, I don’t think so…when I eventually get to a real live person somewhere in India we go through the whole drill again.

Account number?
I don’t have an account with you, that’s why I’m calling.
What’s your social?
I’m not going to give that to you. You have the wrong people! I’ll give you the phone number you keep calling.
I can’t look the account up by the phone number, I need either your account number or your social.
You won’t find either in your system. I’ve never had an account with you!
I need your social to verify that we aren’t looking for you.
AAAaarrrrrrrrggghhhhhh Please stop calling 3 times a day!

Then they usually transfer me, drop the call, and I get to start all over again.

Oh yeah, and our “friend from Ghana” calls looking for “beautiful American woman to marry” about once a month – at 2 a.m.

This reminds me of a couple of years back when they announced the new NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST... I went aheadand registered with my number of 12 or so years ... only to later learn a high court somewhere had ruled the national Do Not Call List was not enforcable for some reason. THEN, magically, my phone started getting all kinds of telemarketing calls! ARRRGH! Previously, i'd get a few every now and then - to all I woud say no thank you and don't ever call again. Now my number had apparently made the "A" list for telemarketers from H-E-L-# hit list... and I was totally beside myself.

It was so bad I changed my home number for the 1st time in ages... only to discover the previous owner of my new number was a dead beat as well. I was getting calls from collectors who were sometimes less than cordial sounding at the get go - which is a fine way to start anything. Eventually it faded a bit - and even now after some time I still get a call every now and then asking for ... who? again???

I don't know if they've since reinstated the enforcability of the national Do Not Call list.
