I prefer National - much easier & cheaper to get to, but I'd take Dulles for a good price. I'm still under the delusion I'll find something for less than $150 to LA & under $100 from MCO.

Those sound like good, but do-able prices:confused3

I'm hoping to get under 150 (and a good time ) for to LA as well:)

That's what I did on my last cruise:thumbsup2
Don't know if I'll be able to come up with 14/15 signs this time though;)

Yeah, but less signs = more packing space. I could really go overboard with signs, but decided against it.

Here's my fav that a DISigns person made for me.

I'm confused .. I'm seeing all these great rates to fly to LAX and they are much cheaper than mine :sad2: . I got $288 today for Buffalo to LA on SWA with one stop in Chicago. We are not changing planes, so it is just a 30 minute layover on the plane. (I figure this would be safer than having to change planes.) I thought this rate was good, until I read the rates all of you are getting. I guess it is good to me as the cost of flights out of Toronto are so much higher with all the taxes we have to pay the government.

I did investigate Jet Blue, but they don't fly out of Buffalo to LA, only to Longbeach. The price of this flight ranges from 259 to 299, so it is not that much cheaper. Can you Californians tell me if the Longbeach airport is close to LA/Hollywood? I will be staying in LA for a few days before the cruise.

Anyhow, I plan on keeping a watch on the SWA rate and if it drops, I will take the credit. I am flying out to Florida in December, so any credit I get, I can use then.

Jetblue also flies into Burbank . . . but maybe not out of Buffalo, I'm not sure. Burbank is closer to Hollywood, but Long Beach is closer to the port/Disneyland. But Long Beach is not far from LA/Hollywood, it's just to the south instead of to the north (where Burbank is). They are all (with LAX and SNA) considered LA airports. I'm flying into Long Beach with Jetblue.

We got 150 out to LA and 124 from Orlando (could have gotten about 110, but would have been a 5 pm flight with layover....)

times were good too

Out of Philly tho

just had to stop in and say

:wizard: HAPPY ONE YEAR BOOKING ANNIVERSARY!!!!:wizard:

the time certainly has flown and I am betting the next few months will as well!!!!:) :wizard:

How high does the heat have to be:confused3

I really don't know for sure ... it happened to my mother's engagement ring, but she was doing some welding at that time (long story!) and the jeweler told her it was the heat from that which caused her emerald to crack. She was "lucky" in that it broke into 2 nearly identical pieces and they were able to re-cut them and put them into earings for her. They warned her then that emeralds shouldn't be in extremes of temperature (also, opals shouldn't get wet! - she had one of those crumble to dust) so her other ring with an emerald gets taken off when she cooks (she doesn't weld anymore...)

That's why we have 3 desktops and work laptop....

We're even crazier - 4 desktops, 1 laptop and work laptop for only 3 people! :rotfl2: What is sad is that sometimes DH and I fight over the laptop! The whole mess is setup with a wireless network (includes a repeater in order to get a good signal throughout the house).... All this and we STILL can't work the stupid VCR - DH and I failed at taping his CNN appearance!

For anyone who is thinking about or who has already booked transfers thru DCL from DLR to the Port, the schedule is as follows: The bus will leave first from the Disneyland Hotel at 12:00 pm, Paradise Pier at 12:10 and Grand Californian at 12:20

Now back to your regularly scheduled fluff...

If you do the DCL transfers, do you just check in your bags right there at the hotel and not have to deal with them again til they show up in your room? If so, it might be worth the $$$ to not have to juggle the 3 kids and 10 suitcases.

And now for my 2000th post.

I think that it is fitting that this is occurring on the anniversary of our booking. Just thinking to myself today that we have all know each other for a whole year now and still have 7 months to go. Anyway from all of you back East that think that we are sitting around under plam I mean palm trees sipping umbrella drinks here is a photo from around the corner. Good thing is that the s***w is over there and we are over here.

And another one of Raleigh

It's so cool that you can just head over there to go skiing, then come back and sit under the plam trees and sip your umbrella drink!

And the puppy is adorable. Now my kids want another one!

:worship: i owe it all to Roger.... (not being here)
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I thought I might rotate them on a daily basis.

We were thinking about making some different ones to swap out. At least maybe one for each of the ports.

Happy 1st Thread Anniversary. Hard to believe it's been one year since the booking madness!!!

Nice to see you here Mary Ann. How are you?

Now I'm not much of a ring person, but that is gorgeous:love:

Someone told me to be real careful if getting an emerald ring (something about them being easily cracked:confused3 )

DW wants to do some emerald shopping, so we'll be doing some reading up on what to look for when buying one. I read about the differences between inclusions (not necessarily a bad thing) and flaws (definitely a bad thing.) Now I just need to figure out how to tell if there is a flaw that may end up cracking.

Ok, let me tell you my strange story...

I have never, never, never been able to post from work. I can log on but can't post. Probably for the best, I surely would have been fired by now. Anyway, for some reason (my boss left for a three week vacation ?) I tried to log on today & I was able to post.

After two posts, I got a PM from Tom letting me know SW opened their fares. :worship: :worship: :worship: Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. I got my filght to LAX, non-stop for $124.00. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I posted to thank Tom, & the post was all messed up when I looked at it. I edited the post & tried to post another reply. I could not post another thing, just like always... cue the twilight zone music.

Wow Lisa, that's really a strange coincidence. Congrats on your airfare!

I was able to get MCO to Dulles pretty reasonable ($104).

See that's the problem..... MCO to Dulles isn't that expensive... It's the Dulles or BWI to LAX or LGB that's the pricey one.....

I have no problem flying home on SWA from MCO.... Those fares will probably only be $89 on opening day and might get a ding for lower..

I have seen dings for LA....but considering this trip..... I really just feel better booking the fllights while they're open...

I saw that one.... If i thought i could have gotten my dsis to watch our dogs i would have flown out of Philly. (but driving philly to Baltimore on Labor day to get home would have been the pits....)

Long Beach is like really really close..... and not as huge as LAX. I'm good with it.

We put some of our signs on the inside of the door, some on the outside, and we really did rotate them. At least this year we'll have two doors!

You can buy it for about $30 in about a week or two most likely

Very true! I keep hoping that it might show up as a video clip at either CNN or KIVA's website... I am also using this as part of my argument about why we should just get digital cable and a DVR (although I hate the thought of giving Comcast even more money every month!)
