8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

It is fun to hang with us adults in the evenings!!!!!:woohoo: :dance3: (Well most of the time we act our age)

Yes - it was a blast! I so want to keep in touch with everyone and I know it will be hard once this thread dies out (I'm just assuming it will since all other meet threads I've been on have...)

I really don't know if we would spend so much time at RBD or Diversions if we didn't have a bunch of DIS friends to hang out with. The entertainment at RBD was pretty good and we would probably still go so some of the shows, but I suspect we would be part of the mass exodus afterwards if all you folks weren't there!

Pamela

Eh acting our age is overrated I think! :goodvibes

Ditto! I couldn't agree more Pamela!

This was the 1st trip that dh and I ever set foot in one of the *adult* areas! LOL! We had a lot of fun. We would of had a different kind of *fun* if it was just the two of us. We definately wouldn't have stayed past any of the shows! Although I don't think dh ever stayed even that long this trip! LOL! I know one of the nights he had a migraine so, he picked up the kids and went to bed. The other times we were paged and he decided to pick up kids and let me *hang out*. :goodvibes

You guys are great and I had a ball! I probably wouldn't of spent that much time in RBD or Diversions if it weren't for you guys. :) Funny thing when I'm getting ready to go to bed and I see it's 10:30 I think I should be going to the adult show! :lmao:

You guys are way better than the "Back of the Bus" gang I use to hang around with! When I rode the bus to work (or what passes for public transportation in Motown!) I got to know some of the people who rode. Most of us worked for the county, friend of the court or laywers. We would get together every now and than on a Friday and go out. When I was expecting Kailtin they threw me a "Back of the Bus" baby shower!

Finally got the phone call I had been waiting for. Now I know why it took so long to get it. They chose someone else and they accepted, so no job for me.

I honestly didn't expect the first job I interviewed for to be the one but it's still a let down that I didn't get it.

Back to the hunt.

Monica, sorry to hear this. Good things come to those who wait. Something better is coming your way!

Desiree, sorry to hear about your keys.

I had something weird happen today. When I went to my Jeep after work. Someone had been in my car! The glove compartment was open and some of the stuff was on the front seat and the compartment I have between the front seats was open and some of that stuff was on the seat. I had a container with quarters in it and that was gone. I know that I locked the doors when I got to work this morning. But the way the Detroit Police Dept is, it wasn't worth calling to report a bunch of quarters missing! :lmao: Creeps me out though.

mine expires the 14th as well , so we can make Saturday the official day then cause you can use the AP the day it says it expires ...

So who else is in ?? Maybe on Sunday we could have like a breakfast at DTD or something before we head home .... but we will be there all day Friday as well (13th) ..

Sounds like a plan. Assuming I can get the time off.....hopefully I'll have something that I'll have to ask for time off from!

Good news- I no longer have a fracture in my foot. The part that was fractured is still much narrower then the rest of the bone. So I have to wear the walking boot for 2 more weeks. I have to go back again on October 21st to make sure everything is still good. The doctor seemed surprised and impressed that it was healing on its own.

So happy to hear that the foot is coming along. By the way, how's your Dad doing?

Linda and I had dinner at Palo that night. We sent the kids to dinner with Betsy, Kevin, and Debi.

Mike,we had a great time with Betsy and the kids! Please tell them that we say "Hi" and "Thank you" for letting us join them for dinner.

Sorry someone was in your car! That would be so creepy.

He is feeling better from the diverticulitis, but has had a sinus infection about a week.

This is how I know I am sick. I'm home for the night, dealing with Cub Scout organizing, a hockey "media guide" for 2 teams, and a know-it-all PITA Cub parent who never shows up for planning, just hits "reply all" to the entire pack when she doesn't like something...and I don't want a glass of wine. Yup, I'm sick.

Sorry to hear that M. Just think about the Swingers Cruise have a laugh and forget the wine try 2oz Brandy 1 oz warm water 1tsp honey in a glass repeat as needed it wont cure the CRUD but it will make you not care as much

Get well soon

Did anyone get any pictures of the jumping rays in Cabo? They would stop when I got my camera out. Then I would give up and put it away and they would start jumping again.

And some man you barely knew wouldn't have been prancing around the stage in your bra...

I'm still trying to figure out how you got that thing off so fast Tina!

It will help me forget PITA cub scout mom too.

Oh boy, forgot about that one! :lmao: What was the line Elizabeth said in the first POTC movie about pain? Try wearing a corset! Well, fast forward a couple hundred years!

Sorry someone was in your car! That would be so creepy.

I told my friend and she was creeped out too. Her car was right near mind. I'll probably be talking with our security dir tomorrow to see if the building cam caught anything.

I'm trying to get Kaitlin to go back to DL for her Feb break, but she wants to go to WDW. She has Presidents day week off. I thought it would be less humid and maybe not too crowded.

Well good news for us...my friend came over...and she found our key! DH was going to call the locksmith today and we decided to give it one more day...so no changing the locks and alarm :worship:

If you decide to come this way..let me know.

We had a great time in Cartagena. Loved your sloth story and Miranda got to hold two sloths for $1!

We ended up missing dinner in Cartagena to watch the sunset. Did anyone else partake -- it was gorgeous!!

Don't know what their number was, but my youngest insisted on doing this. We got there around 2:15 pm and had to walk to Shutters to get in line. I think it was around #225 give or take 10. We were probably 25 from the end. I didn't stay in line with them as I had done my duty earlier with the older boys for the Desperate Shipmates reveal, but I did get some pictures of the entire line as it stretched from the WDW through the atrium and down to Shutters. When they got close I came down to take a picture. A couple of teens tried to get in, but because of the number system they were turned away!

Yes DH sat out on the Verandah & watched us pull away. As the ship turned I got to see a beautiful view of the city & sunset. Didn't get beautiful pictures like that though! Thanks for posting them!

So sorry! Wish you lots of luck! :wizard:

Sorry if I ignored anyone. I did not intend to ingnore anyone. I was at the front in RBD sometimes at night. I was in RBD every night. I had a walking boot on my right foot and crutches for the cruise. I was also in a wheelchair as well on and off throughout the cruise. I was also dubbed the "Rock Star" or "Party Animal" As I was on the dance floor every night with my crutches. I was affectionately called those things by the cruise staff and some fellow passengers.;)

Picture of my brother Stephen and I before boarding.

Glad to hear that your foot is healing! It was very nice meeting you on the bus & seeing you & DB throughout the cruise.

and Kristina starts with a ______?

ok now i'm going to yack... Are you sure this was my kid? :lmao:

I've been trying for three days to get the sweetheart to vacuum the living room....

    I can relate... I have to admit by the end of this two week assignment I think i might hate to leave. It's hard not to get attached.

You've obviously haven't ridden SEPTA much, Have you?

As long as no-one from the street level has video or audio i think we're still safe for public office. OK maybe not Tom but most of us. (The kids at least.)

Aw it's always tough when your dealing with your own kids, but you have definitely raised a very polite & friendly young lady! After meeting you & DH, I am not at all surprised! :goodvibes

RBD & Diversions was a blast! We should be heading to Diversions about now! :sad1:

So sorry to hear someone was in your car. We had someone go around our neighborhood stealing change from our cars. It is an awful feeling to know someone violated your private space. I remember a few nights before our wedding, DH & I met at a local mall to pick something up. Anyway I also just picked up my wedding veil & someone broke into my car by busting the back window & left shards of glass all over my veil. They tried to jimmy my car radio out, but they just managed to damage it. Unfortunately insurance covered my window, but not my radio. :sad2:

I don't know if this has been talked about but we are planning to be back at Disneyland Saturday March 14th - (we will probably be there the 13th and 15th as well) And I know a few people were talking about this date as well ... So Please let me know ..

Also we may pop down on Nov 22 for a quick jump in the park but wont know till we get a week out cause of the Football schedule ...will keep you posted though

We will sure try to make it Todd!

Yes Madison and Austyn are great. I miss my Steak Buddy too.

Hope you had a great time in SF next time you come up we must do lunch or something.
Thanks for the offer Mike. We sure could have used a relaxing weekend. You opened so many new culinary aspects to Madison's cruise experience. You really taught her the ropes.

The union announced today that they have enough in the strike fund to last 6 months. :sad2:

Was Mike the one in her bra? I have pics of a couple of Dis men in bras.......:lmao: Who would have thunk that there would ever be a reason to say that??? :rotfl2:

Kristina,

Elvis (my 10ds) wants you to know that you have cool hair. :thumbsup2

Been a bit busy - and I see the thread is bumping along at the usual pace! So I'm gradually falling back ... but not so far as to NOT eventually catch up. Maybe tonite... maybe ... tomorrow?

This evening we had 2 "back to school" nites where we get to meet the teachers and get thier presentations on how the year is planned... and so forth. Plus I signed us up for volunteering. I'm a class parent for Julianna, volunteer in both Kalea and Juliannas' classes, and one of the 3 class photographers for the 2nd grade. Alicia is also volunteering for a few specific events - as in the valentines event organizer ... and swapping with me as a science instructional aid. As if that all was not enough... we got soccer in 2 regions with 4 jobs there too! So yeah.... it's enough to keep one busy.
