8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

pixiedust:
Were you front at RBD? I think I saw you and tried to introduce myself a couple of times but, you didn't hear me....so, I let it go. :) Because then I wondered *Did she not hear me or is she ignoring me?*

Since that happened with several people on the cruise I stopped trying to introduce myself to people..... ;) I decided *I have my name tag/lanyard on. If they want to meet me I hope they introduce themselves.*

Sorry if I ignored anyone. I did not intend to ingnore anyone. I was at the front in RBD sometimes at night. I was in RBD every night. I had a walking boot on my right foot and crutches for the cruise. I was also in a wheelchair as well on and off throughout the cruise. I was also dubbed the "Rock Star" or "Party Animal" As I was on the dance floor every night with my crutches. I was affectionately called those things by the cruise staff and some fellow passengers.;)

Good news- I no longer have a fracture in my foot. The part that was fractured is still much narrower then the rest of the bone. So I have to wear the walking boot for 2 more weeks. I have to go back again on October 21st to make sure everything is still good. The doctor seemed surprised and impressed that it was healing on its own.

We had a great time in Cartagena. Loved your sloth story and Miranda got to hold two sloths for $1!

We ended up missing dinner in Cartagena to watch the sunset. Did anyone else partake -- it was gorgeous!!

Linda and I had dinner at Palo that night. We sent the kids to dinner with Betsy, Kevin, and Debi. We sat on the verandah and finally drank the bottle of Asti that was in our room since embarkation day and watched the sunset.

Like Jill said, we couldn't turn away. It just kept getting more and more beautiful! These pictures don't do it justice.

I'm working on uploading pictures to the site, in between working on some projects for my rotation. These will get there eventually.

Now why does that not surprise me? ;) Seriously, you ladies were all so fun and easy to talk to.

:goodvibes

I know it sucks Monica, but there is something better out there.
Perhaps this job had a banned tiaras or frowned upon Patron drinkers or wouldn't let you hang pirate pictures in your workspace.

We were #140-ish for A&A. We started out in front of the Studio Sea door in the atrium. Disers kept bringing us food and beer and I rebooked a cruise while we waitied.

Monica, What M said. The tiara really did suit you!

M, I'm glad to see that you used your time wisely! LOL!
I yakked and talked to my kids and their friends -- I actually was holding a number for someone other then myself.... First is was for Austyn, then when she ran by so quickly (it turned out that she got at the end of the line so, Cheri decided to stay with her there) I decided to go get Claire. There was no way that Claire could have waited for hrs in a line.......

Beautiful! Sadly, we did not see ANY sunsets. That is one of the few things I really didn't care for with early seating. I really don't know which we will pick next time. Early was better for us in terms of evening activities, but I hated missing the sunset (I'm never up early enough for sun rise!) and some days it just seemed too early. I never wanted to skip dinner because we really enjoyed our table mates (Hi Tom & Ellen!) and seeing all the other DIS friends in the dining room.

Finally got the phone call I had been waiting for. Now I know why it took so long to get it. They chose someone else and they accepted, so no job for me.

I honestly didn't expect the first job I interviewed for to be the one but it's still a let down that I didn't get it.

Back to the hunt.

Oh Monica - I'm so sorry. I really hope something perfect pops up soon! How are you doing?

OK is it possible that I'm getting the Disney Crud at this late a date? I had a sore throat the first 2 days we were home, but I've been fine for almost a week. About 2 hours ago I started an achy-chill thing. I feel like carp.

Hi M! I'm sorry you are getting ill. I had a bad cold when we got back, but I don't think it was the "crud" since I didn't have a cough.

Booking a cruise while waiting in line :lmao: - that is multi-tasking at its best!!! We happily avoided the A&A line - DS9 wasn't even sure who they were before the concert. At the show, he realized he knew the songs, but we still left early because it was hurting his ears.

Hey! We saw you guys around the cruise! If I had known it was you, we would have introduced ourselves.

Great news about the foot!:thumbsup2

Well most of the time we act our age:angel:

Except when making Carpet Angels in the Atrium...

So the girl I was asking about- her name is Devon? How could I have missed that...... hm I thought I read every post!
And who is K? I need the whole name please! LOL

and Kristina starts with a ______?

You must've missed a few because both Kristina (goofyforlife) & I mentioned that it was Devon. She's a sweetheart & so is Ruby! Taylor misses her Stack friends!

ok now i'm going to yack... Are you sure this was my kid? :lmao:

I've been trying for three days to get the sweetheart to vacuum the living room....

Finally got the phone call I had been waiting for.

    I can relate... I have to admit by the end of this two week assignment I think i might hate to leave. It's hard not to get attached.

The bus ride back to the pier was about one of the craziest bus rides I've ever had!

You've obviously haven't ridden SEPTA much, Have you?

As long as no-one from the street level has video or audio i think we're still safe for public office. OK maybe not Tom but most of us. (The kids at least.)

10ds thought they were *hot*. He loves teenaged, blond girls! LOL! He has since he was a toddler.

Here is a pic of my ds with A & A. She is saying *Cool hair, dude* to him. He was in heaven.
BTW, the green bracelet she put on during the first concert was one of the Pirate bracelets -- ds handed it to them during the concert.

#'s for A&A ...

I only wish they had given them out sooner.

DD got in line early on (before 11am) and many people who came after her somehow ended up before her in line.

Of course she was too nice to rat them out. :rolleyes1

(Steph you were the cool mom for holding spots. Me...I just pointed at DD and laughed the couple times i passed by as she was still waiting there.)

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I wasn't even there but, I'm sure it was hilarious! ;)

I'm glad you're better -- I was down on Frida. I missed the Toby Keith concert/Limo ride with my friends that I had planned. :sad2:

I really just wanted to actually get a chance to talk to my kids! LOL! By the 2nd week I felt like I was begging them to hang out with me! LOL!
Maybe I just should have asked some of the dissers if I could hang out with them instead! LOL!
Most of the 2nd wk I spent the days by myself. Elvis & his dad hung out but, I didn't want to play foosball or ping pong so, ds wouldn't hang out with me..... Claire only wanted the club or swimming so, once again I was left out.....
I did have fun . :)

When does your pass expire? Mine is 3/14. I forgot that when you upgrade from a park hopper they back date to the first date you used the hopper. Not sure I'm going to renew, all depends on the financial situation, so we might not be able to stay until the 15th.

mine expires the 14th as well , so we can make Saturday the official day then cause you can use the AP the day it says it expires ...

So who else is in ?? Maybe on Sunday we could have like a breakfast at DTD or something before we head home .... but we will be there all day Friday as well (13th) ..

I couldn't make it to the SM reveal and still have no idea who my SM was...so I don't know who to thank for all my great gifts!

DD went and DH was there for the beginning - we had Palo - so DD found out hers.....but I still don't know!

Thanks to everyone for the FE gifts! That was so much fun, so glad I took part in that!

ran into Doreen (reeniny..?) at Moe's yesterday!!! That was nice! - we both mentioned how hard it is to get back to the everyday after such a TOAL!!!!:wizard:

Baltic sounds awesome, not sure we can afford it...but we are looking forward to Oct 7th to hear the details!!!!

Yes that was a great surprise to see you in our own town.. Here we spent 2 wks together never saw each other and a week later in a restaurant down the street. I am so bored as what to make for dinner too!! Made meatloaf tonight and my son said it was pretty good. I will try it after ww tonight..!!

As far as a comment that was left about a table.. I think somethings should be left in private. If you had trouble with someone on the cruise leave it on the cruise or between you 2 privatley. DONT BRING ME AND MY FAMILY into it please. You never met me or spoke to anyone in my family. By the way.. Subash said the same things to us as well...about your table... And i was told Rapheal had 3 yrs on the cruise ships.. perhaps not the MAGIC.. but he had 16 people to serve of all different likes and prefrences... So be careful to judge ALL!! There is 2 sides to every story.. and my family was not part of the story in the first place!! I would like to keep my fantastic memories of the cruise as they were.. not with some words on the dis boards...I thought these boards were for info and happy banter amoung friends and new friends.. not to make enemies.

Sorry .. I will get off my soap box now..lol

ReAnSt Glad to hear about your foot.. you did seem to have a good time in spite of the boot.. I had too wear one for a while as well...

I agree about DEVON.. she is a very beautiful girl.. The kids on my sons group are still chatting and "FACEBOOK"...

Well, we did my sons EAGLE PROJECT this weekend.. WOW it looks great. He thought it would take 3 days.. but it really was 1.5 days.. The kids and fathers worked their butts off. And , now at school, all the teachers are telling him what a great job he did.. and so fast too!!

Again.. I want to THANK who ever did the CD of pirate songs.. we listen to it non-stop!!!I really miss being there...

This is better than cleaning my house anyday. I'm glad everyone made it home safely. It was truly a wonderful trip.

Just finished unpacking the last suitcase. It stood there for three days before I finally tackled it. It was too much like admitting that the trip was really over. I had hoped to meet more of you on the trip. Those we did meet really made the trip special.

Heather made it through the first week of classes at Central Connecticut with only minor technical problems so all is looking well on that front. She didn't have much time to prepare, she arrived home at 8 PM on Monday and had a 9:30 AM class on Tuesday. With both my girls so far away I really appreciate it when I have time to spend together with them. Only thing that would have made it better was if her sister has been able to make it. She is still pouting - it was the first time we were all away with her still at home.

Thankfully, it looks like Ike isn't going to make a stop here in Central Florida. Hope our luck continues to hold for the rest of the hurricane season.

The girls (+ two grandkids) are flying down for a long weekend Food & Wine/MNSSHP Trip late in October so I do have that to look forward too.

Oh well - the food booths at Food & Wine are not brunch at Palo but they will just have to do. It'll probably be at least three years before we visit Palo for brunch again - the memories will just have to carry us through. 2010 will be too soon for us. Our first cruise was 3 days, when we took the 4 day we knew 3 would never be enough again, then the 7 blew the 4 out of the running, now the 15 has made the 7 seem far too short. They have to move one of the ships to it's new home sometime in 2011 - where ever it will be. So we are hoping for a repo then.

OK, now that I've got the suitcases empty, I guess I better put them away. And, since no one is going to bring a menu to the table for dinner tonight I better put some thought into that too.

Barbara
