Well I had a 3 hour board meeting at my house tonight. My brain is a little fried.

Good news: My house is spotless clean for when we come back home.

Bad news: Haven't packed a stitch. I am still getting my hurricane file ready to mail to my Mom before we leave. I am watching the stuff going on in the tropics, hoping nothing hits here while we are gone.

Now an atempt to "Ketchup" but I am tired so probaly won't get very far.

It's funny about perspective. We got to CA about 12:30 local time and went to DTD. For us, it was very hot. Not as bad as Orlando in August, but hot for us Denverites. It's much better this evening. We're resting before heading back to DTD for the night. We're wearing our lime green and black wristbands (thanks Tina!!). We'll be changing rooms tomorrow to Building 1. Right now we're in building 2 because we added a day on to our trip and they didn't have any Disney view rooms remaining.

I hope everyone's flights go as smooth as ours. Our flight left on time from Denver and we arrived a few minutes early to LAX. We were at Hojo's before 2:00 p.m. as the traffic seemed light. The only problem was that our room wasn't ready so we carried our backpacks to downtown Disney which included the laptop, kids journals, books, etc. Way too heavy for sunny California!

I probably saw both of you in DTD and didn't realize it! I just returned from DTD and DCA... first met up with Bip at HoJos and dropped off her lanyards and then met Michelle2 at DTD...we just walked around for awhile and then went into DCA for a ride on Soaring Over California..DD hurt her knee (I think growing pains) so we headed home...she still has school tomorow before we meet up with Cruisin Mike and then for dinner tomorrow night at RFC with some fellow pirates. Glad everything is washed and ready for final packing on Thursday...

We are also wearing all our old clothes... Need the good stuff for the cruise.

I was thinking of STARTING my packing on friday evening...

but then again,

I have to attend an AYSO referee clinic on friday evening from 6-9:30PM and again on saturday morning from 8 AM to 11AM... that is .... after I pickup my BIL and FIL from LAX at 5AM saturday morning. SO GEE..... when AM I going to pack? Maybe sunday morning?

Don't miss the ship ! I am going to try and get everything done before Friday. Key word try.

That is probably the cabin LaTanya had to give up

I wonder if anyone will take advanatge of it?

I wondered that - did LaTanya have a Cat 12 or do you think maybe someone is getting a surprise upgrade?

I must have missed this. LaTanya is no longer going with DS??

Well, I just checked in to the airport hotel -- La Quinta Inn, Elk Grove Village, IL.

Will catch the 6:00 a.m. shuttle tomorrow morning and take off at 9:00 a.m. for sunny California. Check in to Grand Californian tomorrow afternoon and anticipate the cruise!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hey I remember Elk Grove. My DH & I worked there before we moved to SC. Your only a hop , skip & jump from Cheryl. Have a safe flight.

What makes it even better is DH & I got married at Castaway in 2004. Great, Magical memories for us.

Ok..we are leaving soon..going to drop off lanyards to Bip and then off to meet Michelle2 at DTD for the evening.

Wish I was there already.

As some of you are leaving home and heading to LA, I thought that I'd take this last opportunity to wish you all a fantastic time aboard the Magic on your wonderful cruise.

If events hadn't changed we would have been flying from London Heathrow to LA tomorrow and looking forward to meeting everyone on Sunday (or knowing the disers, before!).

To the people we have met previously - Steph and family, Cheryl and John, Peter, Johanna and family, Jack and family, and others we met last August in WDW we will hopefully see some of you when you disembark on Sunday 1st of September - we plan on getting to the port around 8:00am.
To others (especially Andrew, who only lives about 160 miles away), if possible, say "Hello" to me and my family at the port as well.

My son Alex, phoned Jack's daughter and Steph's daughter this evening to wish them a great sailing but there was no answer from either - he's hoping to see them at Port Canaveral.

Have a great time and a safe voyage and remember to look after the Magic as some of us have to go on after you for the 5 Night sailing.

Hi pirates!

The wireless access at the DLH (Magic tower) is working like a charm . . .

Laura picked us up in Huntington Beach this morning, and even had lunch with us at In-And-Out Burger before dropping us off here! If I get a chance, I will load my pictures and post one of Laura and my girls in front of her fabulous wheels . . .

We got to CA at 12:15 and were able to ride California Screamin twice and Toy Story Mania twice before heading back here around 3 to get our room . . . I don't find the crowds to be that bad.

We have the Fantasmic Dessert seating tonight, so after we swim for a bit we will head to that park . . .

Well I hate to bring it up because I know you've got enough pressure on you already. But, we agreed to get married as soon as you won your first case. Meanwhile, TEN YEARS LATER, my niece, the daughter of my sister is getting married. My biological clock is [taps her foot] TICKING LIKE THIS and the way this case is going, I ain't never getting married.

I put the FE gifts in a suitcase but hae not done aything else much. Bill said we should all sit down and pack everything Thirs night so we don't have to worry about we packed or didn't.
Tomorrow afternoon we meet with Megan's Middle School Counselor. She is going to show her around and help her w/ her locker since she will be missing the 1st week. My Mom is going to take her over to the school every day this week to mae sure she knows her way around.
Miranda has soccer practice tomorrow too.
Thurs it is mani/pedi day and packing. Also housesitter will be gone on Saturday so she will have her helper sitter come meet the pets and get the lowdown on the house.
Friday- take Debi and Kevin to the airport and finish packing.
Whew!

Last weekend my DH wanted to do a mock trial packing. Yeah right you just want to see what I am packing. He said exactly I need to see what you think it is that you need. Well short story he was busy with his list and we never got around to it.

If he only knew, only knew. lol

Time to play catchup!! I have been packing . 4 full size, 2 carryons. I still have a few odds and ends, and the personal carryons to do!! I think I have enough that if I do some sink laundry for some items, I won't have to do ANY laundry . I really wanted to avoid that..from what I have heard. We will be wearing items more than once!! If I would let him, DS would wear his pokemon shirt every day!!!

I think when I unpack I am going to leave the going home outfits in the carryon, so I don't have to worry about it!!!

I am even jealous of the In-And-out Burger. I have never had one.

We plan on doing In and Out tomorrow straight from LAX.

We made it to California. 2 flights - one quick layover in Atlanta and it "only" took 10 hours from the time that we left New Jersey until we entered my brother's house in Newport. Now time to plan what to do in California over the next few days.

The best news was since our layover was less than 1 hour in Atlanta, our luggage must have been some of the last put on the plan. This caused our four cases to be some of the first that arrived at LAX. My sister in law didn't understand why we had 4 bags weighing almost 200 pounds (total.) She doesn't know the adventures that await us over the next 3 weeks.

I guess the drive to Westchester Airport went well!

Hey Everyone,

We made it to California safely. Even Nicky survived, although I wasn't too sure he was going to make it after the second 3 & 1/2 hour flight. He was bouncing off the walls by the time we finally arrived.

We're at the Disneyland Hotel. Here's the view from our room:

We set up the kids with a few tokens each in the arcade that's right there, and Linda and i had a little adult relaxation, in liquid form:

And finally, we heard that the food here was not all that fantastic, but we had an awesome dinner here at Hook's Pointe at the hotel:

After dinner, we went swimming for a little bit, but the "heated" pool was pretty darn cold! We're turning in early, since we've been up since 4 AM, and it's now after midnight, our time!

Can't wait to meet up with everyone in the next few days and on the cruise!
