TRANSFERS QUESTION

We aren't taking the Disney transfers but was wondering if we should put the luggage tags on the bags before we leave our home airport or wait until we arrive in LA.

I wasn't sure if we used the tags if Disney will end up pulling the bags when they shouldn't be. How do they tell which have booked transfers through the cruise line and those that didn't

I got a call from the company I interviewed with. They are in the final selection process and asked that I provide them 3 references. I've sent those off so we'll see what happens.

All Pirates Sailing on the Jolly Roger/Jolly Pirate in Aruba



I have been in correspondence with my new buddy Carla at the Jolly Pirate in Aruba today and she has offered to send buses to pick us up at the ship for free!! We will have to find our own way back but I thought this was a very gracious offer from her. She has made a request that we do not meet up and come out as a group since there is no way that they can load the buses or boats if we all show up in mass. She has requested that we all meander to the cruise terminal and meet her awaiting personnel who will take our web confirmations and give us boarding cards for the buses. I believe that the cruise terminal probably has some shops to look around. Carla prefers it this way so that everyone is not waiting around. They can not handle all of us at once. As a bus fills it will leave for the boat. I still need to get back with her for what time we need to meet her. I will have further updates before we leave or on the ship. I will re-post this on the Pirate Zone and again after the run which looks to be under way.​

Yes, I am quoting you again... I just found out that Primeval Whirl is going to be closed when we're there starting on Sept 2nd. I think that and Spectromagic are the only 2 scheduled to be closed when we're there.

I prefer either the Polynesian for its relaxed style, or the Contmporary for its walk to MK, the monorails and Chef Mickeys.

Poly is just way tooloud for me when you walk in... I would like to try the Contemporary sometime..... DH HAS to stay @ a monorail resort.

BTW i had a real scare this morning.. missed my traintype scare.. for all of the bottom line only folks.. everything is ok

I thought I lost my wallet.. credit cards, driver license, health card., cash station card. etc.. I went to Target last night and then thought I put it in my laptop bag like always.. I am driving off to the train this morning and looked for my wallet .. wanted to see if I had any money.. not in the pocket it belongs..stopped and looked all over the laptop bag..in all the pockets .. zipped and unzipped each one.. not there. turned around went home.. not on my desk, not in the pocket of the jeans I had on last night.. not in the kitchen or the bath.. nowhere..

So my mind is racing.. ok i can get on a plane with the passport.. if I cancel the credit cards will i get a replacement before Friday.. prob not.. so I can bring am ex checks.... So i wake up DH and ask him to drive me to train.. as I don't have a license.. he said he would look around the house some more and then go to Target.. I am PANICed.. but have the train ticket and badge to get to work in another pocket of laptop bag..

Get on the train.. keep looking for the 12th time in the laptop bag.. like it will appear magically.. Took my blackberry out to check emails and FOUND IT in behind the Blackberry.. in the little blackberry pocket.. i AM SO RELieved.. so that is my day so far.. how is yours??

Actually...Cher spelled it wrong...FIGURES... (spelling isn't one of her talents)

"SHE" is a DEVON and hates when there are multiple Devo/ins in her classes and the teacher tells them they have to go by their first namea and last initial...

In ES she had a Devin from K-2nd...In MD for 3-5th grades she was the only one... Now we find a whole lot more here in Frederick with both spellings and both genders. She volunteers at a horse farm with another girl named DEVON.

The weird thing is you can google our full name and find others with same name....Freaky as our last name isn't common...and adding Devon to it well makes it even less common...

Us too Not a very common last name but there is more than one of all of us. DH gets the most hits......

People come all the way from NY to NM for Boy Scout camp?

To Philmont.....oh YES! I did not understand it myself.....but saw the slide show from last years trip at our councils dinner and all I can say is AMAZING!!!

IMO, there are no good nicknames for Melissa. Mel? Yuck! My parents are always saying, well what would you rather we named you? I tell them, I don't know, but not Melissa!

My SIL is Mel and my BFF is Mis .........when talking with other family members if I use Melissa and I'm talking about my BFF I have to say MY Melissa....lol Otherwise they think I'm talking about my brothers wife.

I am not putting the DCL tags on until I am in LA.. I think it says to do that if you are not Disney transfers..plus don't want the airline to mess it up and not have the bags arrive in LA

I found the Contemporary too loud - I love the location and the new rooms but the A frame building all open like that just makes that lobby way too loud.

Philmont.. it is an amazing once in a live time, life changing experience.. Geoff ( DS#1) was there for 3 weeks 2 years ago and will be a counselor the next summer.. we picked him up from Philmont and toured the base camp and the Phillips house.. I would love to go if i can talk another mom to go to..

WOW - When I left on Sunday there were only 10 pages!! No way am I gonna catch up!

Safe travels to all of you! We won't be leaving until Sunday morning. Wish we were leaving a day earlier so we could meet everyone at DL. 2 more days of work then I'm done until Sept. 9th!

I would love to go if i can talk another mom to go to..

...and those of us with current Cubs (and younger) might have the chance to go to Denali High Adventure Scout Base in Alaska someday. They have the land, master plan, EPA clearance and are raising money now. Local troops are primitive camping on the site. It is 2,200 acres adjacent to Denali (Mt. McKinley) National Park. Absolutely breath taking.

The council figures if it is going to cost troops more time and money to get there, it needs to be better than Philmont. They have some great plans.

My Dad and brother each went to Philmont & a National Jamboree (Dad did both as a kid & was an editor of the daily Jamboree newspaper).

PV Zip Line Taxi Sharing

There has been a little discussion on the PZ about meeting up and sharing taxis for getting over to the Los Veranos office. The plan is for anyone who wants to share, meeting up in the atrium (by the mickey statue) a little before Noon for the 1PM tour. Other groups may be arranging similar things, but the 1PM tour will definitely be doing it for any that are interested.

We figure it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to exit the ship to the taxi area, another 20 minutes to the Los Veranos office and they ask us to be there 20 minutes early on the confirmation.

Put them on after you are done with flying, airlines will remove them.
