Hey Mike I forgot to say, thanks for the drink! It really hit the spot in the blazing hot sun on Castaway Cay!

I second that! Thanks so much for the drink, Mike! What a great way to end the day.....sharing great conversation with wonderful new friends relaxing on the beach, yummy drink in hand. It is one of many wonderful memories I will cherish from this cruise. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thank you - we were just talking about how comfy the pillows were
I went and looked at the website but have no idea which it actually is. Have any further info?

I did want to update my post to you.

I noticed that a couple of my pillows last night were different.

Aside from pacificcoast.com, the other pillows, which were nicely soft as well, were from http://harborlinen.com/

Did I have to go back to work? My supervisor reminded me I hadn't turned in my midyear review paperwork. I did the meetings in June, but didn't get around to filling out the forms. Well I finished the forms and she decided to redo them. She wasn't even at the meetings, how does she know what was said? Then two of my employees got into it while I was gone and a staff member fell on the digital camera and it dropped into the water. Plus when I returned Tuesday I had a new employee I had to get set up...on top of the 420 emails. Take me back to Castaway Cay please. Even with the hurricane it has to be better than this. I am finally mostly caught up. Of course nobody did any of my job while I was gone.

I felt pretty good on the cruise, but today I have the sinus pressure and sore throat as well as an upset stomach. Can I have some chicken noodle soup from the kid's menu?:goodvibes How about a Mickey bar? That would make everything better. Or even better a souffle from Palo.

I have been trying to sort through my almost 2000 pictures. Cheryl, I have some good ones of you and John. I will post the better ones on smug mug when I get them sorted and edited (take out all those stray arms, hands, etc.). Brett got some decent videos of Pirate Night and the Panama Canal.

Clearly this was written prior to the evening show. Sad to say but Darren Romeo was the worst show I saw on board. But then again I didn't go see Aly and AJ and I heard that was bad. I don't understand how Darren Romeo could have won "Entertainer of the Year".

I actually didn't think it was that bad.... A&AJ were loud but it was billed to the typical teeny bopper lipsynch screechy crowd anyway. My dd enjoyed it (but she's disturbed ;) ).

Now the carpy sham hypnotist thing peeved me that i even wasted my time going to that show and if i weren't in the middle of a row. I sooooo would have left. :headache:

When the adult show came around, I knew i wasn't going to waste another hour of my life. So i did laundry and ran around fish extender gifts on a few decks. (a much better deal than putting up with the hoax again.)

A passing paperazzi caught this shot of the couple :thumbsup2

Andy

Nice shot, Andy. Mike & Linda you look great!!! Congratulations.

Just an update on us... Nobody's sick, but Lexi is peeling something awful. She made it through 14 of the 15 days without so much as a burn, but somehow Castaway Cay did her in. By Sunday night she was coming out in blisters. She popped 3 blisters and today she looks awful because she has scabs from the blisters plus the first peel she's ever had...

Did I mention that school pictures are next week? We found that out yesterday when we dropped her off for her first day of kindegarden. She was so excited that she didn't even mind coming back from vacation.

We did have one adventure coming back. We stopped until Tuesday afternoon at WDW and somehow Mr. Bun (her stuffed rabbit for those who haven't had the pleasure) got left at BCV and had to take the "special rabbit plane" home to CA and didn't make it until Wednesday. Lexi was a little upset, once or twice on the way home, but she's fine now.

I'm also pleased to report that (so far, at least) none of us have come down with anything - except that we miss you all.

The Luck worked... So tomorrow i start a two week assignment at the community college. It's only to fill in for someone going on vacation, however the position is in HR dept so if they like me maybe they'll look out for a position for me. It doesn't pay much but is something legal at least.

YEAH!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Great news!

K....this was you and Andy a little over 2 weeks ago-

I just came back from the matinee performance of Twice Charmed. As usual, they did a great job. I am planning to watch it again tonight. Tomorrow's performance is their award-winning Disney Dreams.

Before the performance, the cruise director, Brent, told us that the captain has been watching Hanna very closely. It is due to hit Castaway Cay beginning later this afternoon and into the night as it moves easterly. Because Hanna is tracking as it is right now, the captain has decided that this evening he will turn the ship and begin heading toward Castaway Cay in hopes of making port there tomorrow.

The plan is to arrive at the island around 7:00 a.m. and determine how well the island went through the storm as well as whether or not the ship will be able to make it into their dock. If all goes well, we will be at Castaway Cay tomorrow. However, they are making it very clear that the decision to do so is something that will need to be made more at the last minute because of how this storm has been acting/moving. But the captain thinks it is safe enough at least to approach the island and make ready to port if possible.

We are presently proceeding in the same moderate seas at 5.9 knots.
Will we? Won't we? Stay tuned to the exciting last day of our cruise! :)

I will let you know tomorrow what ultimately happens.

However, if you can say a few prayers for us -- or cross a few fingers if you are not really a pray-er -- I kinow we would all appreciate it!

Praying & keeping fingers & toes crossed that you make it to CC! :wizard:

I second that! Thanks so much for the drink, Mike! What a great way to end the day.....sharing great conversation with wonderful new friends relaxing on the beach, yummy drink in hand. It is one of many wonderful memories I will cherish from this cruise. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Same for me too! I wish that afternoon could've gone on forever! :goodvibes

Gee Roger, and to think I was considering nominating you for Department of the Interior Undersecretary for Vocal Avians or even Department of Defense Director of Pirate Boats err Ships.

At least it was that kind of swinging!

One of the funniest things that happened on the cruise was one night in Lumiere's the photogs came around to take pictures at the table. We always played musical chairs, so I as sitting next to Esteri's DH and Estri was next to mine - so we took photos that way, laughing the whole time about the Disney specialty swingers cruise. Well, Mike & Sara (sarangel) were at the table next to us - so we told them what was so funny. Without missing a beat, Mike pulled his room key out and tossed it on our table. I had tears running down my face by the end of it all.
:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks, I'm hoping for the best too. We've already lost out on a nice signing bonus. Tensions are really high at work today. I've already missed out on almost 2 months pay, I just want this to be settled.

Coumnt me in on the Disney Crud. I had cough, runny nose and sore throat for the majority of the cruise and then tummy problems a couple days also. Still coughing now and have fever blisters on both lips.
Oh no.
I was seriously surprised I didn't get fever blisters during the cruise. Sometimes I can get one from spending just ONE day in the sun (like at a waterpark or six flags or something). So I was just SURE I'd end up getting one during this long cruise- but nope, got lucky for once.
I'm sorry you weren't feeling well during the cruise and now too- hope you feel better soon!

Hello everyone,
We made it back on Monday afternoon without any events. We love the idea of not lugging our luggage off the ship and through the airport. It was great only having 2 carry ons... the debarkation was a horrible nightmare however.. They need to fix that part... Like having people get off the ship in some priority of flights...

I want to thank EVERYONE who did the FE gifts.. They were fantastic.. the magnets, candy, post its, glo sticks, pens and everything in between... What great memories we have because of them.

Shelly and Jeff.. thank you as well for being our table mates.. I really did not want to eat with just us 4.. To add to the list.. iI gained 4 lbs when I went to WW on Tuesday.. so today with most of the x-tra fluid being out of my body.. I should be fine for next week. I did run on the ship and last night I did run my 5K.. My race is next weekend.UGGGHHH!!

Thank you for all that we met, swam with drank with(matini's and tequelia sp*) Also, thanks for having me try the new WHIPPLE and BBC drinks.. yummie.

My favorite port was ARUBA.. it was so clean they were so polite and I bought so many things there as well.. Good think for the Disney Credit Card.
My International fees were from .50 to $4.55 go figure.

Congrats to your new niece Jaclyn Marie.. Thats my daughters name as well.. She was so happy to see us when we got home and she loved all the stuff I bought her(of course). It was so tough saying good bye to her in HO JOS... Tuesday morning she gave me a great big hug and kiss and said she missed me so much.. yeah no one to cook for her..lol

Speaking of withdrawals of cooking... my son Daniel put out the breakfest room service order on his bedroom door and was wondering why his order was not filled..lol.. he plays the ships whistle at 12 noon.. However.. we are so dead tired at 8pm.. and its DARK OUT TOO..

I never did get any sun burn but I did get some pretty nasty lip sores from the sun.. Oh how they hurt.. I do have a bit of a post nasal drip too.. no fevers or vomitting here.. Good luck to all those that are on the mend.

Shelly, in that pic that was posted that you sw RITA.. I think thats MARTY in the dk swim trunks.. how funny. I never saw you at the beach even.

Todd, as I told you on the ship you looked great thanks for the pix with you..

Ok I am off to do some EAGLE SCOUT work with my son. he starts school on FRIDAY..

Thank you all again for a fantastic time ...
Hey you...
LOL@Daniel's breakfast order. That kid cracks me up! :lmao:

I'm sure you'll do great at the race- good luck!

I have to go back to look at that photo again. I wasn't looking at the guy's face- just trying to describe where Rita was in the picture. LOL
I figured since I saw you over by the rugby game that you'd been there at the far end of the family beach -figured that's why I hadn't seen you earlier. LOL

I'm gonna pop you a PM so we can exchange email addy's, so check your PM's woman......

For anyone interested in a reunion CA trip. There are a few of us who will be making a March '09 trip to DL. Todd's family does a yearly birthday trip around that time. And we need to fit one last trip in before the APs expire on 3/14. No exact dates yet, but something to keep on the radar.

M - you've got my vote too!
Aw, wish I could make it but the kids spring break here starts March 16th. So no such luck! :( I kinda liked DL a lot more than I thought I would... with both parks and DTD being so close and able to stay at places within walking distance (without having to pay WDW deluxe resort prices LOL) was nice. I thought we'd probably never go back to DL again unless they had cruises there again or something- but now I'm thinking we might........ someday.

OK, I"m coming late to the party, since I've actually had to work since we got back, but that's us... Can you send me a full size of this pic? I love it!

Sara
It's on the pirate photo sharing website. I just snagged the url to it there. Can you get a full size pic there? I'm not sure. I'd send you the full size if I had it though!

ITA! I thought the hypnotist show was the worst! My dad spoke to one of the participants at the adult pool who was supposed to be "under" and he admitted he was not hypnotized. He said he was totally acting.

Oh.....and Devon is a sweetie!!!!

aw poor Lexi. :(
Castaway Cay did us in too! and it's all my fault (bad mama, bad bad mama) Well all the other ports we put on sunscreen several times on our excursions even though we were only off the ship short-ish periods of time and most of the time not in our swimming suits the entire time and/or under water and such... but at castaway Cay we were all in our swimsuits ALL day long ofcourse and I only put sunscreen on all of us (except DH who doesn't believe in sunscreen for some reason *rolling my eyes at him* and never peels even if he gets red as a lobster) first thing- and forgot to ever reapply sunscreen on any of us! Now my kids are pretty tan anyway but Rita did get quite red on her back (apparently she and I both kept our backs to the sun most of the time while in the water and playing in sand on the beach) but it's fading into a tan now and she never peeled or blistered. I haven't had a sunburn in a long time because I'm usually really good at keeping us covered in sunscreen all the time but my back, shoulders and the backs of my shoulders and arms (all the way down to my wrists- which is kinda weird really. Who gets sunburned all the way down the arms? I sure never have before LOL I guess because I have a year round "farmers tan" down my arms) were pretty burned. They are still bothering me now. I knew I was in trouble when it was already super red and starting to hurt like an hour after getting back on the ship.... I was like uhoh..... mama in for some pain!
Now it's itching and DH says that means it will peel- we'll see. It's still red though- all the way down to my wrists. What bothers me is the part on the backs of my arms up to my shoulders. That part is tender.
I was even sunburned on the middle of my forehead where apparently I missed when applying sunscreen on my face- that looked pretty funny on Tuesday LOL

Sure wish Lexi wasn't hurting with the sunburn and blisters and peeling. Poor baby. :(
Castaway Cay can get you if you don't watch it... I guess the sun out there is pretty brutal! I've heard many got sunburned- only in CC- even though they were putting sunscreen on all day! It probably doesn't help that's the one port that almost everyone stays out in the sun ALL day instead of just a portion of the day on excursions like other ports. Hugs to sweet Lexi! (yeah- that she loves kindergarten!)

Same for me too! I wish that afternoon could've gone on forever! :goodvibes

Diane.....somehow I did not get a picture of you and your family. I should have taken one from the first formal night. You looked so pretty in that ivory dress! Can you send me a photo of you guys?

I am missing photos of several people, in fact. Maybe along with all of the "share" photos, people could post their own family photo from the cruise. What does everyone think of that?

OK, I"m coming late to the party, since I've actually had to work since we got back, but that's us... Can you send me a full size of this pic? I love it!

Sara

We all miss you, Mike and Lexi at dinner time. Just not the same without you. The picture is on the smugmug site but here is the direct link. Tell Mike that Madison misses her steak buddy. Hope Lexi gets over her blistering soon.

Cursed or Just Living in HE double hockey sticks ? you be the judge...

Got home at 6:00 Monday. The ex had been over at my request to get the boys schedules for school. He sent a detailed email, sharpened the pencils & left the mail on the counter... As I was reviewing the school mail I saw both kids had half days on Tuesday. Ex's response... I can't change my work schedule on such short notice. (note to self, give more notice)

Monday evening 10:00 pm DS11 vomited half a pizza. He removed the trash liner from the trash can sitting next to the toilet & vomited into the can. I said Nick, why would you vomit into the trash can when the toilet was right next to it? He said, But Mom, I always throw up in the trash can (noted)

Tuesday morning 7:05, the school bus that was due at 7:10 arrived at 7:00. DS11 missed the bus. Drove him to school.

Tuesday 12:00 got a call from DS8's school. He didn't get on the bus. Why not? Well, when I said he had to take the bus to the after school care, he thought I meant I would pick him up & drive him to after school care.

Picked him up & drove him to after care. It's 12:40 & I have a 1:00 meeting. I figure I'll be 10 minutes late. I hit I-95...parking lot from some accident. 1:40 I drive back to my office having missed the meeting.

Wednesday: I have a 7:30 meeting with two presidents & three vice presidents to talk about expansion of our business.

Arrainge for before care for DS8
Leave the house at 6:40 to drop him off
Leave DS11 home with a timer set for 6:55 to catch the 7:10 bus
Instructions: call me when you get on the bus... if you miss the bus, don't panic. Call me and I'll swing by after the meeting & take you to school.

7:00 drop off DS8
7:02 phone call... Mom I'm on the bus
7:04 traffic report... water main break on Baltimore Pike... I take the back roads
7:29 screech into the parking lot at corporate run up the three flights of stairs (thanks to DCL for the training)
7:30 doors to corporate are locked
7:35 still locked...
7:40 still locked...
7:41 call my office coordinator, am I in the right place? yes. do I have the right time? yes. Can you start calling all of the secretaries & see if someone can let me in?
8:35 got a phone call from the meeting organizer... Lisa, I'm surprised you missed this very important meeting.

The crazed person living inside my head excapes...

What stress laidened, non-vacationy escapades await tomorrow...

Stay tuned...

Sounds like DDs life. My first day at work wasn't any better. Yesterday I stayed home as that Disney Crud Cough realy got to me. I attribute it to getting soaked at PV and dashing in and out of A/C busses and the ship. DH is pretty much well. I'm still hacking a bit.

BTW, weighed ourselves at the DRs this am and we both lost 3 lbs.

If we had put ourselves in Mickey Jail, we would have had a MUCH better time! :rotfl2:

We didn't throw up, but we had "issues" for quite a few days, even past our 48 hour isolation time. We got classified as "norovirus" too, but there's no way it was norovirus. This was Montezuma's Revenge at its greatest! Shouldn't have eaten in PV!

At least we'll get some of our $$ back for those 2 days through our trip insurance. I've got DH following up on that. We only have 72 hours to take care of it though. I think that's tomorrow! Hopefully we get some $$ back. We'll see. Let me know if you have any luck.

Sorry we didn't get to meet. Maybe next time

While here, amongst friends, in the great state of DIS...

I'd like to announce my candidacy for somethinorotherTBD.

I'm an Alaskan hockey mom small town community organizer with executive experience, so I'm clearly qualified.

Oh shirt, now what about all those internet photos????

:rotfl2:

I think I may need to take some responsibility for the Disney Crud. Trevoy and I both had coughs at the beginning of the cruise. May have started spreading it at Fantasmic. Mine cleared up by day 6 or 7 though. His is hanging around, probably because of the ear trouble.

No don't blame yourself. I really didn't have much close contact with you.

Quick question about the photo sharing site

Does anyone have thoughts on organization? In particular, I am looking at the Panama Canal day. Someone has made galleries for Early morning to the Bridge of the Americas and for Miraflorez Locks. Should we all dump our photos into these categories or should we create our own galleries?

I see pro/con both ways. The pro of dumping them all together is that you can scroll through and see all the photos from the same time/area at once. The con is that it could end up being a LOT of pages/photos to scroll through for each topic!

I am the one that put mine in those two categories. I have around 1000 pixs that day and thought that it would be better to split them up. I assume that everyone has a lot of photos from that day and that if we all put them together in one file it would hundreds of pages long. You can make your own subcategory when uploading them so everyone can have their own folder if you desire. I just thought that breaking them up into areas would be easier to peruse. Also I don't have time to go through and label each picture so having them by area, people would know where the pictures were taken.

Oh you are a sweetie for saying that!   As soon as I get our pics downloaded I'll send one or post it if that's what everyone is planning on doing. I don't think I got your family either, in fact I really didn't get a lot of pictures at all so I hope families post their pictures.

It was a great idea!!!! We were looking forward to the next card!!! I guess the old saying "lucky in love"!!! We got three of a kind!!:thumbsup2
I knew exactly by your advatar where you were located. It was like another scavenger hunt for some people to find your room.:cool1: :cool1:

Our Cabin Host was a little concerned. He saw some people jumping outside our cabin door saying "We found it!" He asked a couple times how many relatives were traveling with us because so many people had been stopping by our door:lmao: . Someone said they had started at Deck 1, worked their way up the floors and took 45 minutes or so to find us.

THANK YOU! I was wondering how long it was going to take before someone said that the hypnotist was garbage! Again, what did Disney say "No!" to that they picked Darren Romeo and the dumb hypnotist, two of the most talentless shmoes I've ever seen?

Oh the SHOCK and DISMAY!

To think I would have pledged my SKATING PARTY delegate vote to ya'...

Now I'll have to go get a half dozen more in support of yer SWINGIN' Agenda!

Thanks Crash - you'll look great in one of those convention hats.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

M - you've got my vote too!

Patron shots for all!
2 for Esteri.

I heard preliminary's start 12/5/09 :hippie:

:rotfl: :rotfl:
Instead of balloons, we'll drop pixie dust!

Toward the middle of the cruise, and up to the end, a couple of us Moms had stuffy noses, sore throats and dry coughs, but we cracked it up to being inside in the air conditioning for so long. None of us, thank goodness, every really got "sick". I'm sorry for all of you who did. :flower3:

I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to those of you who knew what was happening in my life during the cruise, and offered sympathy and support.
Some things were just determined to go wrong, and thanks to a lot of you, I had a really awesome cruise anyway.

As some of you know, my friend from here in Cave Creek was supposed to be with us as our 5th Escaping Mom, but didn't make the trip. Her husband (our very dear friend of 20+ years) passed away on Saturday, Aug 23rd....not quite halfway into the cruise. My heart was breaking at not being here with Sharon and her family.....but I am sooooo appreciative of my DIS family for their kind words & prayers.
Thank you all so very much for the support in that situation, and to Paula & family for joining us at dinner and helping to fill the void.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh Stace - I'm so sorry. :grouphug:

Would that be the physical or emotional ones?

Yes.

The Luck worked... So tomorrow i start a two week assignment at the community college. It's only to fill in for someone going on vacation, however the position is in HR dept so if they like me maybe they'll look out for a position for me. It doesn't pay much but is something legal at least.

This is DC, legal jobs can be difficult to find.

Hmm wonder if i could get my hands on those shutters swinger pics for a few bucks...?

Actually, they really were nice pics of me and George & Esteri & Steve, but not worth $40 for both.

What department do I get in exchange for the video of you and Deanna "dirty dancing"? :)

Forget that! I bet Deanna knows where you live. I'm sending Howard Hunt and Gordon Liddy to break in and get the tape. You'll get it back with 18 1/2 minutes missing.
