Just checking in guys. I checked in for the cruise this morning at the Grand Californian, got my Key to the World cards and my boarding number.... I have to be at work in an hour and 15 mins, off at 11pm..........

STILL HAVE NOT STARTED PACKING YET

Kinda odd being checked in for the cruise and having boarding number and room keys and not packing for another 15 hours! That has to be a new Disney Cruise Line record!

milk ran out this morning....perfect timing! hehehhe

Trying our best to run out of food, made DSs eat leftovers for lunch today and promised them Costco pizza for dinner. Milk should be gone after cereal tomorrow morning!

Back to packing, DS can't find his belt, why is it that as soon as I go up in his room I will find it???? I refer to it as "half-looking" around here and it seems to be a male trait.

Okay, doesn't he know that when you procrastinate packing there is a certain order to things??? And getting the rental car wasn't on my list

YES!

I was a little put out yesterday when I saw people checking in for the cruise. When I asked a cast member over here, I was told that it was only for those people who had bus transportation arranged through DCL.

Bummer. Major bummer. Because I had Super Shuttle arranged.

So, on a whim, I called DVC yesterday (I booked my cruise through them) and they contacted DCL to inquire about adding the bus transfer.

I was told that DCL would not add anyone to their bus less than three days before the cruise!

So, I was stuck with Super Shuttle (whom I arranged with because DVC Member Services told me that DCL would have no transportation to the port and that I would have to arrange privately).

This really bothered me.

So, again on a whim, I went to the Cruise Check In desk and asked if I could check in as well. They said that anyone could check in, even if they did not have DCL bus transfers.

I then told her that I had wanted them but was told yesterday that it was now too late to add the transfer.

Well, the DCL rep could not understand that one at all since they can, and are, still adding people.

So, instead of having to take Super Shuttle -- and lug my bags to the port -- I am already checked in for the cruise. (They even called Super Shuttle for me to cancel my transfer and to have a refund applied to my credit card!)

They swiped my passport and verified all the paperwork and I'm in business. Tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. I have to meet at the Conference Center of the Grand Californian and the bus leaves at 12:20 p.m. I was told that I will receive my Key To The World card tomorrow in the Conference Center.

Luggage will be picked up in my room tomorrow morning around 8:00 a.m. I don't even need to be present. I just have to have the luggage tags on them for the porters to pick up.

Sweet!

I didn't think I could get more excited, but I am!!!

I am SOOOOO ready for my "fun in the sun!"

Out of curiosity, are you concierge? Because I just checked in and asked if I receive my card and I was told that I would receive it tomorrow when I showed up at the conference center for the transfer.

Just wondering why you have yours already and figured you might be concierge . . .

EXACTLY!!!! I had my day planned today -- Packing at 2pm...... What does dh do..... Has me run with him on errands then that took over an hour....we were back home just long enough to transfer laundry (washer to dryer) and then he wanted me to go with him to buy water shoes (I had told him earlier in the week -- when we were at the shoe store -- that I could find his)...that took another hour & a half (tax-free weekend & he then wanted to run by the grocery store on the way home....).

I will start packing in just a minute or so.... It is now 6:31pm.....

I believe those checking in at the hotel, if you were taking DCL transfers, they printed your room keys and put them in an envelope with your Name and Room Number on them and will get them when you show up for the transfer. I saw a stack of them on the desk.

I am taking my own transport and got my keys at that time.

What is annoying is that the room key did not have the dining rotation on it. They said that its still not final until 13 hours prior to sail time.

Also, checking in there, I was able to get BOARDING GROUP 2!!!

No more planning on getting there *WAY* too early to try and snag an early number to try and get my brunch reservation.....

Now if only I wasn't stuck at work today and could go home and start packing....

Glad to see there are still a few of us still here. I was hoping that someone might have the link to the DOTD passport...can't find it...no time to search. TIA. So much to do...my husband just informed me that he wan't aware that he had to "dress for dinner" Not sure what he thought I was looking for little "real" clothes for our kids for. Anyway...the search is on. Can't wait to see you all tomorrow. It is really here.

I'm sitting here practically in tears because we can't find a dress that we bought for DD14 for semi-formal nights. NO CLUE where it went. Then I'm not sure what she is going to wear to dinner. I thought we were good clothes wise for all of us. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

He steps back into the room and says *I was planning on wearing a pair dress slacks and button down with a pair of my dress shoes.*

DH *I could go more casual.* And then he laughs.

Actually, now that I think about it. Every now and again, I dress up and go to Disneyland. Not for any reason at all. But, wear a suit and you can walk stright down the middle of Main Street and the crowds will split for you, its amazing!
