Thank you so much to all who contributed to the Navigator. Not only will this be a fantastic organizational tool, it is a great keepsake! I will save this along with our daily Navigators. Thanks so much!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I know many kids do. My niece doesn't seem to think the shovel is just a large spoon....

Sydney had her first encounter with a persistent fly on Saturday too. It would land on her arm and she would go "eeeh" and shake her arm. It would then land again somewhere else.. over and over. :lmao: In between, she'd eat dirt...:confused3

Terri....your dd is adorable! And btw, my ds convinced my dd to eat something much worse than dirt when she was about that age.:scared1:

OMG...I KNOW.....we feel SOOOOOO bad saying "go away....at least for a little while so I can have mommy time!"......see.......you need a drink with friends too!!!!

Now if we can just get Katie in the lab with Kylie and Christa.........:rolleyes1

Lost a bunch of quotes but not going back to look for them.:rolleyes1 We had really severe storms roll through with tornado warnings and had to shut down computer.

Good luck to every still packing!!!;)

I thought you would agree!

Boy oh boy... I just read "Happy panicking". Maybe I should get my eyes checked...

Naahh, that's next week for most of us!

Another fun time is at Burros Bar. How can you go wrong with a bucket of bear or a giant margarita. The food is decent and the drinks are outstanding. http://www.mexonline.com/burros.htm

I had that on my deck once in Alaska - bears and margaritas!

when ya are from ohio, have ties to OU....they don't rank us #1 in party schools anymore because they decided we were "professionals" and they only rank amateurs (he he...yes I am "kinda joking").

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

thanks for the kind words on what I've been doing; but honestly it's been a tough road....(as my DH would tell ya). It's worth it if you can find a happy medium between staying home with the kids, working on your PhD, and still being a wife (at least some of the time.....anyone who's been there will likely tell ya that those of us who do it OWE our spouse BIG TIME.....:rolleyes1 .

Oh, I know! Our first DCL trip in March '04 was my way of saying "thank you" to DH & the boys for putting up with "Mom the Student". In a perfect world, we would have gone after graduation, but we moved that year, so we went during spring break. I defended my thesis on Friday, graduated on Saturday and our packers came on Monday!

Hmmmm Bears and margaritas...

I've had bear sausage...wouldn't go well with margarita. :sad2:

Just wanted to say

AWESOME JOB

I just took a look at the navigator and FE list!!! The graphics are great and everything I want to know is right there. I am making John print these at work.;) :thumbsup2

:confused3 I just went to the PZ and it opened jsut fine for me.
Were you trying to print from your downloaded copy? Maybe try going to the site again and starting over?

That's part of the problem. In my excitement to print it, I didn't download. I just started printing directly from the site. I didn't even save it as a favorite.

When I start at the pirate zone, bring up the thread, click on the download link, it moves over to the hosting site but that's when I get the error message.

I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall Adobe later, but this dinosaur of a computer takes 30 - 40 minutes to reboot. I've got too much other stuff to do right now, I don't want to wait on that. Besides, Chris offered to print me a copy.

Pipi's is good food and a great fun environment. They mix guacamole right at your table and will make it as mild or hot as you want. There's a strolling mariachi band and sometimes other live music. This is a great overal fun time. http://www.pipis.com.mx/

Another fun time is at Burros Bar. How can you go wrong with a bucket of bear or a giant margarita. The food is decent and the drinks are outstanding. http://www.mexonline.com/burros.htm

The best food though, although not as fun of a meal is El Andariego. Enchiladas Rancheras....YUM!!! http://www.mexonline.com/burros.htm

Thanks!! Just what I was looking for :)

Hi Debi - We are from Morris county which some people consider Northern Jersey and others say Central Jersey.
We also are in Morris County. Living in NJ is what allows us to take the trip since school doesn't start until Sept 2 for us and Sept 3 for our sons.

uuggh! I had typed up a whole post - a couple paragraphs and then the stupid sirens started going off. With DH away and DS at the neighbors house, I had a small panic and just shut down the PC - I should have hit "submit" first!!! :lmao:

Well, the weekend was just as crazy busy as expected. Grandma's party went really well - she seemed to have a wonderful time. There was a reception at her church from 11:30 to 3:00 and there was a constant stream of people nearly the entire time. We got her to take a nap after that and then at 5:00 the out-of-town family all came to her house for another party and dinner. She was still going strong when we left around 8:30 - we live 60 miles away, so we didn't get home until after 10pm.

Poor DH had to leave the house at 5AM this morning to catch his flight to Texas. He was flying from Chicago to Houston and then Houston to McAllen. He had about 1.25 hours to make the connections, but storms in Chicago delayed the takeoff by nearly an hour. He and his co-worker RAN to try and make the next flight, but they got to the gate about 2 minutes after they closed the door. The plane hadn't even backed up yet - but they wouldn't let them on. You would think that Continental would know they have people making the connection and hold the doors open a couple minutes longer. Fortunately, they were able to get onto the next flight stand-by (about 3 hours later) and he is now in McAllen. He missed his afternoon meetings, but should be able to get a good night's sleep!

Since I always have trouble sleeping when DH is away, I plan to use that time to get some stuff done around here: ie. laundry, ironing, picking out clothes, making lists, etc. This evenings plans were thrown off a bit by the storms - had to drop everything and head down to the basement (after calling the neighbors and making sure DS was down in their basement!) Power went out for a couple minutes - pretty spooky being in the basement of a 100 year old house alone in the dark (I hadn't found a flashlight before heading down!) I zipped down pretty quick after I turned on the TV and they were listing the towns in the direct path and MINE was the 3rd on the list! The worst seems to be past for now.

I don't think I have a chance of being able to ketchup! I missed 30 pages yesterday - I'll skim every 3rd page or something and move on :rotfl2:

Pamela

The navigator ROCKs!

pirate: 'ing to say THANKS!!! it looks great!

To all of you with iPhones. The pocket navigator displays just great on the iPhone. The full navigator is too much for the phone - mine rebooted while trying to get to page 4 lol.

where are u in texas i grew up by the rio grande valley:woohoo:so i made this sign as my baackground on laptop

diana

I am in a N. Dallas suburb. I qualify for the bumper sticker that says " I was not born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could".
Born and raised in New Mexico and moved to Texas for college and never left. :)

Got a couple more things marked off the list in my ole head. Got the girls formal shoes that go with all their dresses. I have decided they are going to bring the black patent shoes, their Keens, and Crocs and that is it for shoes.
I am bringing black formal shoes, my Keen's and I am having my favorite pair of Brighton sandals resoled to take those too. I need tennis shoes to work out but I hate to take another pair just for that. Since I normally just do the Elliptical - I could get away w/ wearing the Keens- just might look mighty dorky.
Crocs are easy to take too so I am just not sure what will end up in my suitcase.

I have a Dentist appt bright and early tomorrow. This weekend I had a sharp unexpected pain in a tooth for hours. It finally went away but was a pain (literally). I mentioned it to DH and he said same thing happened to him. He thinks the acid from the pineapple we ate did it.:confused3 Anyway, if they want to put a crown on-I'm not. No way I want a temporary for the trip. I could go to my old Dentist that makes the crowns in her office while you wait but I have better things to spend $1500.00 on.

We also are in Morris County. Living in NJ is what allows us to take the trip since school doesn't start until Sept 2 for us and Sept 3 for our sons.

We live in Madison and due to construction, school does not start until Sept. 8 this year. Normally, its the Wed. after Labor Day.
