Happy 1st day of school! Kallie would actually be jealous....she loves that social event...called school! LOL....she just doesn't like the math, science, language arts, reading...just kidding!! well, not really kidding about math :)

Unfortunately..no social portion here..homeschooling! Although..when we comeback..she does have school on Fridays with the rest of the kids who are registered through this private school's ISP. SHe has Art, Music, and this year World History. I decided to start her early this year so that part of our trip counts as school - they put them under "field trips" - As long as she learns about the country and we have her journal her trip...those days count towards school.

Oops! She is done with her reading assignment..I'll be back!

That's what the couch and dining room table are made for! ;)

Couch has too much doggy hair....Dining room table, now there's an idea.. Wonder what DH will think....maybe I will try, he might not even notice.....:rotfl: :rotfl:

I always keep my pins/lanyards in our carryon. I packed a bunch of pins years ago on a trip to WDW and when I opened it up in WDW it had about 1/2 the # of pins inside....an no stinkin' thank you note or anything! LOL learned my lesson! They are heavy, but worth it. I usually take the pins out of carry on and put them in a bin, as I was told they show up as a very large dense mass in the screener and if they can easily just open in and see they are pins, it saves you have to unload your carryon.

I totally agree! what an amazing job and thank you to everybody who has helped in every task of planning this incredible trip! :wizard:

I carried my pins and lanyards on board. For one thing they were heavy and would have put me over the weight limit and i too was afraid of them being taken..

I also, have to say the NAVIGATOR looks fantastic. Thank you to all who made it possible. What a great way to find new friends.. I have a question though.. The rooms in green are doing the FE gifts. what about the rooms in BLUE??

I talked to Beau...my DS18 who is on tour with his drum corp right now. They left a week ago and drive all night and have stops for 10 hour dayrehearsals in Utah, Colorado, Iowa, multiple locations in Wisconsin and will arrive in Indiana later tonight I think. They will stay there, as the world finals are held there this year. He has texted or called everyday to let us know how things are going and has had some funny stories (from a california boy). In Iowa they were in awe that the entire city came out to watch them rehearse all day, brought them drinks and corn to eat, cheered them on etc. He remarked about all the open land and no fences between houses (poor city raised boy..lol), and they had a night time drum sectional before boarding the busses and they were all in awe over the fire flys! Isn't it funny how little things like that can impress a bunch of young adults from the city. Its such a great experience!

I feel like I am going to be pulled over for being a drug dealer with all the stuff in my carryon. We have the kids meds..dh's meds, then there is his vitamin regime, and the bonnine, immodium, tylenol, advil, acid reducer..and just about everything else!!

I feel the same way.. The regular meds I take nad DH takes plus the just in case meds..lol tylenol, colace, immodium, benadryl, cipro( just in case the Mexican jungles get to us.. etc...

I still have the one suitcase empty.... but those bottles will fill them up fast

Went to the dollar store today and picked up a couple of those over the door shoe holders for the back of the bathroom doors. With 2 grown girls, we have lots of cosmetic products, and I hate having them all over the place. Great way to organize stuff and not lose it. Also got a net thingy for the shower that hangs over the showerhead to put all the shampoos, conditioners, body wash, yadda, yadda.

We usually wind up throwing these out when we are leaving rather than carting them home.

Time to get some sun!

omg how can someone forget their kid? I cannot grasp this happening.......

When I read that earlier I was so horrified! We keep our children so close to us when we are out in a public place.......In fact I can pretty much count on the fact that anyone under 7 is being held in some way by dh or myself! If they are light enough they are bing carried! At the very least we are holding thier hand!!!!

18 suitcases????????

Having traveled quite a bit, I can grasp it. Airports have become chaotic, exhausting, high stress facilities. Airlines are completely unforgiving in terms of push-back time. Connections are often way too tight. Stress + Rush + Exhaustion is a formula guaranteed to lead to mistakes.

Having chaperoned a number of youth group trips, I truly believe that our not leaving anyone behind was as much a matter of luck as skill. There was this one time... well, it's funny in hindsight... suffice to say that we didn't know for sure if we had everyone until we landed....

I lost my task bar AWWWWW!!

ReAnSt(Becky),and Caropooh (Carolyn).. is the scout badge for girl scouts or boy scouts.. and can you PM me with the info .. unless its to late already. I have a boy scout...

Debi, I bet if you make a great dinner you can have dinner in the bathrrom..lol

Ok I am showing my blonde roots here. So they will not have a FE hanging and I will not have to keep going back to their room waiting for them to hang one up for me to put a gift in??:confused3

You can just leave the extras in my FE.

Your welcome and THANKS TO ALL OF YOU! I have met so many wonderful, crazy.funny, interesting, bizzare (in a good way!),caring, intelligent, goofy, clever, quick and just fabulous people over the past year and a half...you all have made the time fly by waiting for this magical vacation! It would have been a great trip no matter what...NOW after meeting all of you it is going to be an amazing adventure!

Thank you for welcoming me and my goof of a side kick Brendan! We leave on Sat to head to the hojo's and hopefully soon after we will start meeting all of you!

Chrissie:hug: :flower3:

See you at HoJo's, I will be the mom yellin at her kids!! :scared1:

I did not know this- and I'm the same as you. And maybe that's why our room was never cool enough- because we weren't IN there. I had no idea they had some way of it coming on if you were IN there and we weren't in our room much except at night. LOL
thanks for posting this... had no idea they could make it cooler! (this is not just about minor comfort-it's about DH and eldest DD sweating all night- you can't sleep well if you're hot natured and sweating all night. yanno?)

LOL I know the feeling!
I am packing less- but even less than last time is probably still overpacking. I am trying to pack less and wash clothes during the trip- but it's the "everything else" stuff.. stuff I'd rather bring rather than pay huge prices for it if it's needed on the cruise. yanno? LOL

Yup, the first time we sailed was in August, and all I thought about were ppl saying on the boards that the were always cold on board. Umm..nope, I was WARM!! Did not need a coverup at all!! We like the room coooold :).
