Well then - congratulations in advance and good luck :)
You can still add the extra person as a TBA (to be announced) and just add the particulars later on

When we booked our last cruise, youngest DD was TBA at the time of booking & that is what our confirmation showed. Advised our TA once she arrived & she dealt with the necessary to give her a name! Good luck on the "project", and least it should be a fun one!

Where did you find $4.07??? The best I found was $4.15!!!
I found gas at 3.50 last night!!!! I wanted to get one of those HGE drumss to fill up - what a bargain!

Wouldn't me either, but my work blocks the pirate zone. :confused3

At least I can still access the DIS...just need access for 6 more working days!
At work I am the opposite... I can be on the ZONE but not hte DIS - but now I have the iphone and heeeheee heeee heee - I can sneak a peek ;)

Thank you Desiree - Amazing the frienships we can start here.

Good morning pirate: Hopefully this week will be the final finish for the store! I am so tired of seeing workers. So hopefully I will be able to at least stay current with everyone. Have a great Sunday:goodvibes

August 3 is International Friendship Day for 2008, time to recognize your friends and their contribution to your life. Friendship helps to bring peace and positivity to the globe - a great reason to celebrate! Friendship Day occurs on the first Sunday of August - only once a year - so make the most of it! :) Friends come in many shapes, sizes and guises: school friends, work colleagues, siblings, partners, parents, pets and neighbors. Pull out all the stops and let your friends know they are truly appreciated!

To each of you...thank you for the laughs, good thoughts, and great times as well as all of those still to come!
I feel very blessed to be part of this group and am looking forward to our TOAL. 2 weeks to go!

Thanks Des.. this was really nice :goodvibes :goodvibes

Help help help!! Haven't been as active on these boards as I wanted...had a lot of very stressful time consuming things happen last few months. Well, now it all takes the cake.

1) DD9 starts limping really badly. Took her to docs, have xray done. She has a bone deformity called a coalition - a painful bone deformation. surgery is the cure. DH had his heart mitral valve repaired two years ago - we only had my mom and I as caregivers. Full open heart surgery. It was easily a full year recovery - full year of me bring in charge of all...Of course her surgery won't be so scary, but, hey, its my kid and I know I will further age 20 years in one year. At best, she can walk a lot, at worse, since we will delay surgery, she wil be in portable splint, or wheel chair. She is a completely active child, so it will behard for her!! Luckily, its not too painful if she stays off of it.

2) DS12 comes back from Scout Camp. Had a blast. Gotten bitten by a deer tick. Incubation time for Lyme disease symptoms beginning are now until a week after we board the ship. I am thinking of taking him to our doc and getting the meds now, and if he begins to get ill, have the doc on board monitor him. He could give me the go ahead to give the drug, couldn't he?

Any of you brilliant wonderful people personal experts on Lyme disease? What I have read, it looks like we are totally hosed. I THINK, tho, they got the tick off fast. Area where they were camping is one of the highest in the US for lyme disease...:sad2:

We did this when we booked a cruise before #4 was conceived. Once he was born, we called and had them add his name and birthdate. He took his first Disney cruise at 4.5 months old!

So sorry to hear about all of your problems and certainly you do need this break and I will be keeping fingers crossed for you. Not an expert at all with tick problem as that is something we do not have over here apart from Sheep ticks and assume not the same thing.

Am sure all will be fine and you will be aboard on the17th -

Have been trying to look and see the magic come and go on a web cam but cannot find one that covers L.A. Is there one or perhaps they do not have one there.

Well that is clear as mud (or peanut butter).
I'm not bringing a jar of peanut butter. I want to bring a few sandwiches. I'm not real excited about $12 airport sandwiches.

But good to know it is safe to fly with spray cheese. :thumbsup2
:rotfl2:

I was also planning on bringing pb&j sandwiches. It never even crossed my mind that they might have restrictions. Interesting! I'm confused now too...

I was just reading a post about the temperature in staterooms. Honestly, I don't remember, but how much can you control the temperature? We don't have a verandah, so, opening the doors is not an option :)

One of the cruises, everytime we opened the door the mirrors and all would get fogged up as it was so humid outside. One night we opened the door to watch the water and some sort of alarm went off in the room and the phone rang. Just an automatic call. They monitor the climate in the rooms. So it put a damper on listening to the waves.

Getting down to the final lists. Yea

We always fly out at least the day before the cruise. My mother is petrified something is going to happen to make us miss the cruise. In either 2004 or 2006, there were those blackouts in New York the day of the cruise, and had we flown down that day, we would have missed the cruise. As it was, some people had to meet the Magic in Key West!!! :scared1:

Our first cruise was for our honeymoon. We had to fly from Albuquerque to San Juan the morning of the cruise, and due to maintenance problems with the plane, we did wind up missing the boat! :scared1:

Shawn got his new heart!!!!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

OK, that means nothing to you...DS9 has a good buddy from Alaska who was born with a heart defect. Great kid, great family. DS's entire K class and most of the school did the local Heart Walk and the school still does it every year for Shawn. Towards the end of 1st grade, Shawn was accepted into the heart transplant program at Stanford. We did fundraisers, we've send cards, we've prayed. FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS of his 9 years, Shawn and his mom have been LIVING at the Ronald McDonald House in CA waiting for a heart (while his dad & 2 sisters stayed in Alaska). Two and a half years!!

Of course, we all know that a family had to go through the unthinkable in order for this to happen. Shawn's donor was 7 years old.

I read the article to DS this morning. He looked and DH and me & went to get us tissues.

Oh, thanks. I didn't know there were two places to chat. I was tired about reading about drunk roommates!!

Well, that could have been us...

On one of my recent flights from LAX - a security person was walking around w/an empty pizza box and announcing that it was okay to bring food through security - just no liquids (such as water/soda/etc) - I always bring food. Once I brought a plasitc container w/yogurt that passed thru - although I wouldn't suggest doing that. But sandwiches - sure - w/ Matt we always bring lots of food/snacks.

That's what throws me. I'm not bringing a jar of peanut butter - I'm bringing pre-made sandwiches. How are that going to know if my sandwich fillings are 3 oz. or less???

I suppose that no matter what the rule is, it will totally depend on the mood of the GS-2 TSA screener that morning.

I've met many people at airports I would like to throw a can at....and I'm a pretty good aim...... ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Most of the people I want to throw a can at are supposed to be providing me with "exceptional service"!

I highly recommend it! It was probably our best vacation ever (I know... gasp). The beauty of it all was just amazing. I stood on deck one day when we were in Glacier Bay and cried because it was so beautiful. I couldn't help thinking that it might not be there much longer. We plan to go again on our own. I wish we could do the Adventures by Disney trip, but if we are going to try to have a little one next year, that won't work.

No, no. Alaska is horrible and ugly...every one stay away. It's dark, hotels are made of igloos. Bears live in neighborhoods. Keep out.

Can I go home now??

Need Help:

Just wondering if you multiple suits what so you all recommend on how to transport them without getting wrinkled and dresses too. What kind should we get?

Thank you all for your help.

:confused3

We pack ours in dry cleaner bags in a fold-over rolling garment bag. The suits & formals actually travel better cotton Dockers and sundresses. We always send the wrinkly stuff out to be pressed. It really doesn't cost much and saves us from waiting to an iron or questionable repute.

Nope! Never seen him before in my life! :confused3

That's funny, last time I saw him, he was standing next to you in a matching t-****!

I'm sorry about your DD. It is so hard to watch our kids struggle.
Don't stress too much about DS (easy to say, I know). Not all deer ticks carry the disease. We lived a few miles from Lyme, CT and pulled many, many ticks from ourselves, the kids, the dog. None of us ended up with Lyme Disease.

Morning, everyone -- happy friendship day and 2 weeks until the cruise!

We are having a NYC pirate meet today -- I will try to post photos later today or tomorrow.
