Well, I'm all ketchup again. Man the threads are moving fast now - must be all the excitement. August is finally here - 17 days to go - but who's counting.

Went to the drug store tonight and stocked the travel pharamacy. Also, bought a new travel clock - one that I can see at night. Got a great buy on a new dress also. So, a bit more accomplished.

Off to a family reunion tomorrow afternoon for the long weekend - so try to keep the thread to a dull roar please. This weather better turn into something nice by tomorrow - been yucky rain all day today.

Wristband Update!​

Just wanted to let everyone know that I finally got notification that the wristbands have been shipped! I have not been a happy camper, since I got a call on Monday from the company and found out they were just going to produce the wristbands! I was told it would be 3 weeks (which is long past). Seems that they were out of the red/black and it just came in!

Anyways, hoping that I get them tonight or tomorrow. I will spring into action and mail them out! If I get them tomorrow, I will send them out on Saturday (our PO is open till noon). This is for those of you who have requested that would like them before you leave for sunny CA!
I have everything all set, just need the wristbands to send them off.

Glad they are finally on their way. I'm sorry you've had to go thru so much stress with this....

And some have accused me (incorrectly, I might add) of being a troublemaker....

Gee... I wuz ONLY censured once for those candied G strings in the design of a UNION JACK flag... and I was only BLOCKED from DIS chat a half dozen times on that fateful evening when BIP GOT AWAY SCOTT FREE in spite of her ... shall we say.... color-rific remarks!

I know the first time I got in chat was just recently and someone mentioned I'd been in there before when I hadn't...... so what in the world are you talking about? or do you just keep saying that to try to annoy me or something? Well first off I only like it with like a little coffee with my milk or cream & sugar.

Secondly- coffee makes me sleepy/tired. Go figure huh?

True, you can't send them "home", but you can send them back to the parents and tell them that their behavior is unacceptable, and they can no longer be allowed in the clubs because they are disruptive to all the other kids. Real easy to do. You give a few warnings first, then you stop it. At schools and camp kids get suspended and expelled all the time, why should bad behavior be accepted on a cruise ship??

I think DCL was too lenient on those parents and kids. I would have billed those parents for all the items those children broke!!

I totally agree! I'm shocked that kids can behave that way and even damage property of DCL and they do nothing but duct tape it back up? wow......

I was kinda gone most of the day- finally got a few hours sleep this MORNING then friend of mine was in town and wanted to "hook up" (LOL she's female and had her kids with her too- mind out of the gutters please) and then mom surprised me wanting to go have lunch together- she'd already called the handicapped van to come get her and everything! Surprise surprise. Chili's for lunch. yummmmmm
then I decided -it's my birthday and I'll shop if I want to.

I went shopping for a few things...... and now I won't have to wear the same thing every other night on the cruise (LOL) but NOW I gotta figure out what night I'm wearing what. Decisions decisions! Now I have stuff nice enough for dinner- but figuring out which is "nice enough" to wear on formal and semi-formal nights is the doozy.
I DO NOT HAVE A FORMAL DRESS FOR PRINCESS NIGHT!
But I do have a tiara.
Would it look horrible for me to wear a black dress (not long- about knee length but I'm short- so for most everyone else that's almost to the ground -hardy har har!) with my silver bling bling flipflops (hehe) and my silver necklace and my silver tiara? Will i look totally out of place? Can I just pretend I'm a princess who fell on hard times and no longer has a formal gown? LOL

Although we will have to postpone and end up paying full deposit then.... I'm rebooking onboard even though we have NO CLUE WHATSOEVER when we'd even be able to cruise again. Hey, gotta get that discount in and who knows- with it booked... we might be more apt to actually cruise again someday. LOL (before the kids are grown I mean) maybe we can cruise again in 2yrs depending on what they are doing that summer and if we book it when the kids aren't missing any school... cause from here on out for TEN MORE YEARS we'll have alteast one child in highschool.
I just realized that.
10 straight years of "highschool kids". Lovely.......... oh what joy joy this will be.

Oh and today really was a day of "finding things I'd forgot I had"!
I was looking for a certain undergarment today before leaving for lunch (LOL) and came across this little pile of stuff in one of my dresser drawers.... low and behold some disney shirts (the princess ones I ordered for rita that are size small, ordered when she was 6.... she's now 8 and they still would be like a dress on her. These shirts would fit Ruby who is 14! Their sizing was so messed up back then....... and 2 swimsuits for Rtia (size 6- but fit her really good! she was pretty excited about that LOL) and swim trunks for Robert (not so happy that they are power rangers- he's outgrown the PW phase but he'll have to wear the swimtrunks anyway.. and just DEAL with it. LOL
I gotta keep looking around- I might keep finding goodies stuffed out of sight.LOL​

I'm doing that with the DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise. I didn't have a dummy date to move there. I figure with the savings on the deposit, I can book me another dummy date

You can postone indefinitely, if the rules don't change, but the rules of the 1/2 off deposit are that if you move the date the rest of the deposit will be due at that time. I will check with DCL tomorrow but those were the rules when they first offered this a few months ago

Yes Jo, the rules are the same as before. If you move the date and the promotion is no longer going on, you will have to pay the rest of the deposit. If the 1/2 off deposits are still being offered, you won't.

So my foot and ankle is stiff and swollen. I think it is because I may have had the boot to tight on my leg. Hopefully the swelling and stiffness will go away soon. I had two days of training for work that I attended.

I do not have a formal dress either...............I will wear a nice dress. DH will be in a suit and DD will love to wear her dress but DS will be the one with a deep frown and his arms crossed for us making him wear such attire in public!
Anyways, we are not "formal" wear people, none of like to dress up much at all. That being said, I think you should definitely wear your black dress with your tiara and who gives a flip what everyone else thinks? This is a TOAL enjoy it without stressing about what others think of how you look!

Yes. I recommend putting your last name on them too using the black sharpie. I also recommend writing on the back which side you want to be the top.

You may also want to "tape off" the edges, so the characters do not sign in areas that will be covered with the frame. You could use blue painter's tape for easy removal.

Don't be too super concerned about formal nights. On our last cruise, I chose NOT to bring any formal wear. I figured we just eat at topsiders on formal night. When we told our servers we weren't going to be in the dining room, they got all upset and told us it really didn't matter. Most folks wouldn't be dressed up either (at least not FORMALLY). So I had a longer dress and DH wore his suit jacket. Our boys were just in their polo shirts and khakis. I must say I was totally shocked at what most folks wore. We were well above the norm. There was even a few MEN in shorts!!! Now mind you that was a January cruise, but still.

Well, I said all that to share . . .just wear what you think works for that night! Don't worry what others think (like the guys in the shorts . .. .LOL). Go and enjoy!!
