My Mom made out fish extender and it is soooo cute. She is still putting the finishing touches on it but it is cute.
Got the rest of me FE gifts today. I am going to start printing confirmation etc tomorrow. Whew! Going to be a busy last week.

What exactly does someone do on a plane for 12 hours?

Quietly go completely nuts...

Its an evening flight so, it'll be board, dinner, watch movie(s) until tired, then toss and turn for about 6 hours trying to sleep until breakfast, then doze until landing... I have a book too but I doubt I'll read it.

If I DIS I will never be ready for TOAL!!!
I have no idea what as happened here since yesterday at about lunch time.
Someone please holler if I missed anything.

We're packing. Well, we're laundering and packing. DH is making a blue tarp and duct tape freak flag as I write this.

Big day today! We were up ay 0430 and on the road at 5 a.m. Why? You ask... the kids ran their first triathlon today! The ran a kid's only race in Manassas. DS8 swam 50 meters, biked 1.25 mile, and ran .4 mile. DS9 swam 100 meters, biked 2.5 miles and ran .6 mile. They did GREAT! We're so proud.

Why oh why can't a triathlon for me be that long? LOL I should be able to handle it no problem. Then again right now I am not doing much walking or running.

Congrats to your boys, it looks like they had a great time.

Also got some tylenol with codeine... Off to la la land for me!

I've got that....Can't take it anymore though... I was fine with it 4 yrs ago when my wisdom teeth were removed. Last year i took it for a procedure i had and had a horrible reaction to it.

Cruise related Question for
Aruba Jolly Pirates:

What do we need to bring with us for this tour? I have a printed out email with a "trace code". Is that enough, or am I missing a confirmation of some sort?

Thanks!

I just have the confirmation e-mail with the trace code in it.

I have nothing unfortunately as it was sent to my work e-mail (ex-work that is)..:sad2:

Who bought the $25 underwater camera and did they post any pix from it?

That was Desiree who bought it a couple days ago....

SK8 - Congrats to the boys....

I too must run away if i'm going to :
A) pack everything...
B) clean the house
C) wash clothes
D) Do my shirts
E) etc....

Tonight was a waste.... I went out with a list... Two of the stores were already closed..:headache: and then when i stopped at third place i noticed that i didn't have my wallet.

So i have to go back out again tomorrow...:headache: :headache:

Sleep, read, watch movies....those are the things that I've done on long trips.... DH was once on a plane for 23 hrs...... His flight to Hong Kong had to turn back when they were almost there and then they sat in the plane (in Japan) while a new crew boarded.....

The longest flight I've had was Cairo, Egypt to Christchurch. We got up at 3.30am Cairo time, to checkin. Flew to London which was I believe about a 5 hour flight, had a 6 hour lay over, flew London to LAX - about 12 hours, LAX to Auckland - about 12 hours, then we had a flight delay of about 6 hours to catch our 1.5 hour flight to Christchurch. I think we worked out it was over 48 hours from when we go up in the morning until when we go home.

I've flown straight through to London a few times both via LA and via Singapore, its usually about 30 hours from home to arrival at the destination so 12 hours to LA is easy! :rotfl:

Coming home from this trip is worse than going, we fly MCO to LAX, layover for about 6 hours, then a 12 hour flight and a 1.5 hour flight to home.

I think the irons are in the laundry rooms. Don't remember one actually in my cabin. But I just sent my stuff out to be pressed, it's a vacation after all.

Does anyone know what the prices are to send clothes to be pressed on the ship? I am not even attempting to keep things smooth in the suitcase.

We finally packed today. It is amazing how 4 people can generate 130 pounds of stuff put in 4 suitcases.

I've had someone ask me if we'll have our SPOT tracking device with us, and tracking the Magic. And if so, can they piggy back and let their family have the site to track from?

The answer to both is YES! It's one of the reasons I put the information out there for everyone. We will have SPOT on, zip tied to the railing or something, and will take it on our excursions. You are very welcome to send folks to the site for the tracking information. The easiest way to get the URL is through my blog... http://EsterisWanderings.blogspot.com . The link is at the top of the left side column.

.

LOL! So that is what was on my laptop after DH was on it. :)

Wow..I think I may have caught up but difficult to say..i skimmed.

Cut my hair cut and colored today - I don't know what I was thinking but decided to try a new cut (why I would do this right before a vacation and right before a VR - I have no idea) but it worked out..I love the cut (atleast so far and the highlights are really nice....I have more highlights then ESPN :lmao:

We spent today running the final errands before the trip...trip to Borders for some books for DD...final trip for any toiletries we need.

Cleaned the house today so it doens't look horrible when we return and sent all my emails to friends with the links to the web cams.

I still have a pile that needs to be packed but we decided to do it when we are packing the final stuff on Thursday.

So...decided I did enough...got myself something nice to drink and am now sitting in chat...come play!

Wow, the last time I had a chance to sit down and read this thread it was on page 76. Now it's a week later and up to page 241. No way am I going back to see if I missed anything important. I'd ask someone for an update, but I'm sure by the time I get back again it will be another 100 pages or so. Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi. Now back to packing FE gifts, making door magnets, finishing scrapbooking swap, etc., etc. Oh, and I guess I should actually start packing the suitcases, too. :rotfl:

Can't wait to meet y'all. Just one week to go...

Quick drive by...looks like 13 will be finished before long.

I found my Rewards Card. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It was in my cruise box which I didn't check before because it didn't make sense to me to drop a little plastic card in the big box. But sorted through it this morning, just to check what was in there, and there was my pretty little purple card!

I'm still going to pick up an extra at DL though.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm finishing up my FE gifts, and I'm stressing a bit. We came across a pretty cool gift at an unbelievable price early on, so we bought 100 of them, which we thought would be enough. The FE list has grown to well over 100, so we don't have enough of that gift to go around. We came up with something else for the same cost, but it doesn't have the same WOW factor. The only fair way we came up with to distribute them was to go back to Julie's FE list where there 99 cabins listed, and give the first gift one per family to the first people who signed up. We will still give something to every family(just no way to tag that one), and we also have something for each pirate, so we're not trying to stiff anybody. I just don't want anyone to feel slighted and wonder why they didn't get the first gift. I hope everyone is OK with this. :goodvibes

don't stress- no one will feel slighted!
We should be on the original list- if it helps some... be sure to only give us ONE in one of our rooms, not one in both rooms. :) that's one per family like you said- but just want to make sure you noticed we have two rooms so count only one room. :)

Oh my....kids!! UGH
As others have said...I would ice the toe on and off if its swelling still, put a little bit of cotton or gauze between the toes so it doesn't get raw or rashy in between and tape them securely to the next toe. Buy closed toed shoes that can easily be put on & off without bumping or tweaking it!

Now I remember why I decided not to put my kids in any of the camps the last 2 weeks before the cruise. On one hand it would have been easier for me to have them gone for 1/2 day so I can get errands and packing done without them...but on the other hand, I was worried about these kinds of accidents!

Best of luck to you guys.......where is that big bubble???
:wizard:
Someone needs to invent the big bubble and we'll all use it a few weeks before the next cruise. LOL

I wonder if her toe really is broken? the weird thing is- it's not swollen. It looks the same size as it should be... but she said at first she thought nothing of it (not swollen/no color) and then it was purplish/blue and now it's mostly purple about half the toe (the half up to the toenail). Hurts to walk on it- especially after bumping it and then later getting it stepped on- but it's not swollen. is that weird? Do you think maybe it's not really BROKEN?

Bip, I have got to say I think my Alana and your Ruby are going to get along just perfectly! :lmao:
I hope her toe and hair recover quickly and the toe doesn't cause too many problems on the TOAL.
LOL Is Alana accident prone like Ruby?
I swear this child. She's not the one that's had stitches or broken bones (before this- IF her toe is really broken...) but she's the one that is CONSTANTLY getting "minor" injuries. She's always got bruises and scratches (btw she is also bruised on her legs and arms, scratch on her back (that shows if she like sits down or bends over and her shirt comes up- like right above waistline) and a big bruise under chin- all of this from last night!) -and like last year she was topper with cheerleading and "almost" was dropped on her head a few times but no injuries- but she'd trip down the stairs about noce a month (atleast) and be limping cause her ankle hurt/etc. Stuff like that. LOL I guess I should count my blessings that her injuries are always minor.
It's like this:
Robert---- hardly ever gets hurt but when he does it's a DOOZY (ie: he's the one that's had stitches, broken bones requiring pins, busted tooth thru lip, etc.)
Ruby--- constantly getting hurt but it's minor injuries (ie: scratches, bruises, "twisted" ankle, "aching" wrist, "hurt" back/neck/etc. and now something with her toe.. broke or something)
Rita---- nothing ever. My most coordinated child just happens to be my youngest, go figure (knock on wood)
:rotfl:

What exactly does someone do on a plane for 12 hours?

Well if I had that seat- I'd be sleeping!
but if not- a nice long book.. ie: read!

I called the DT to give them a "heads up" on our plans.
At first they were kind of resistant saying there was no way they could reserve the dining room. When I assured her that was not my expectation, she became a little nicer. :)
Sha said the dining room only held 55 and Saturday nights were busy. So.... I guess we will have to wait and see.
She took my name and will talk to "Benny" about our group.
Bottom line is we can have drinks on the patio and kind of mosey over to the dining room from there.
BTW, She said it was 30 mins, at the most, from LAX to the DT.
I will copy this on the Pirate site.

Thanks so much Coral:thumbsup2
Really looking forward to this last DIS meet before the TOAL:woohoo:
We're probably going to make an early night of it though with the time change for us:upsidedow

Well kids do heal faster than us old folks BUT SHE'S NOT CAREFUL WITH IT! She keeps banging it into things today and once was playing around with Robert outside the dressing room at the store today and he stomped on it by accident (she stuck her foot out- it wasn't his fault- she was trying to TRIP him- playing around- but trying to TRIP HIM WITH HER FOOT THAT HAS A BROKE TOE? Is she insane? apparently so...... :confused3
So now she says it hurts worse. Hmm, ya think?
:headache:
IDK about her staying in the hotel room alone. Maybe if it was a disney resort- but it's the HOJO so I dunno. Why do I feel a sense of safety with disney resorts vs other places? I do not know. :lmao:

LOL-just when you think they are growing up they go and do something crazy:hug:
Aren't there other DIS folks staying at the Hojo ? Maybe she can stay with someone you know:confused3
Or better yet, put a big bandage on it and get to go to the front of the line at all the rides at DL:rolleyes1 ;)
Say she can't stand in line for very long:confused3

If I DIS I will never be ready for TOAL!!!

OK One last question as I went back and saw your answer (teach me to jump the gun as well huh Celestine? ;) )

Anyway, Andrew, Is your last name Derek? I was going to ask Julie but you know - It was a serious question. :rotfl2: Anyway, hope your flight is uneventful. As for me -

:mic: ATTN ALL:

I am GIRL FREE AND ALMOST DH FREE FOR THE NEXT 6 DAYS! :woohoo: :woohoo:  :cheer2:

Now maybe I can get some packing done.

We shipped the girls off to CO this am - they left at 7 am to Colorado Springs where the in-laws have a cabin in Wetmore which is just outside of Florence - you all know that one - where SuperMax is? :rolleyes1

Anyway, it was truly hard to do it this morning as this was the first time that any of my girls have flown without me. Didn't realize until this morning how much of a control freak I was. I can only hope that my oldest DD has learned how to manuver her and her sister (which don't always get along) and don't let anyone get to them. I turned out rather mild and quiet children. How? I have ABOSULUTELY NO IDEA! They must of been from a receissive gene! :rotfl2:

Anyway, I did get a call from them saying they had landed and should be taxiing in at 9:02 this morning. The flight was only 2 1/2 hrs. The tough part was when DD April - remember her - she's the mole-removed, chipmunch swollen girl (had her wisdom teeth removed) who's still on medication? Yeah - well she just about cried when she realized - mom wasn't walking them into the terminal. I figured if I did - I would really lose it so I kissed them good-bye, hugged them both and jumped in the car and left. Figured it was like a band-aid - rip it off fast and it hurts less. YEAH RIGHT! Who am i Kidding!!!

Anyway, in honor of chat last night - had our resident magnet designer (THANKS RUMBLY TUMBLY!) personalize this for us "Curvalicious Wenches.":lmao:

 New Door Magnet! New Door Magnet! :woohoo:

ursulacurvalicious.jpg

Have fun all - hopefully I can start packing tonight.

:dance3:

Thanks Laura. Just when I thought I was done you put up yet another picture.!!

Was planning to pack tonight but the DGKs showed up. DD decided since I will be gone for close to 3 weeks they had to go out tonight. Did get lots done today. Def have to really examine how much we will be taking.
