Good morning,

I hope everyone is well. Going to my son's first parade that he is in. So excited. :yay: about that. I hope that you all have a great day and talk to you soon. Not much longer and we will see each other soon. I am getting nervous now and having a pantic attack. I need to start packing and so much to do.:woohoo:

your friends,

This is my home on Wednesday for 11 hours, just go my seat allocation from BA

BANewBusinessClass.jpg

Oooh... a remote control over right shoulder? :thumbsup2

Andrew - thanks for the panama schedule i can give it to the family and the sitter..
BTW you seating area looks very nice and comfotable for the long flight

Good news! DD14 does not have MRSA, but one of the bumps does have a staph infection. The antibiotics she's on should clear it up.

That is good news! I hope she is feeling better soon! Tell her to have a great time at camp!:)

I just finished Breaking Dawn a couple days ago too. Loved it:lovestruc
What did your DD think of it ?

My DD loved it too! I kept asking her questions about the book and she said you need to read it mom. I don't want to spoil it for you! I would take it on the cruise, but I am afraid I will get too involved in the book and miss things I should be doing instead. I'll wait until we are back and post-cruise depression sets in.:) :sad1:

However, I suspect this is a hacked clip looping hurricane footage - possibly Frances since that "H" cut right over the port and Orlando. Unless - of course - this THUNDERSTORM at the Port is actually as intense as it looks to me! Below is the current weather condition report for Cape Canaveral:

Trust me Crash. We had monsoon like storms yesterday that were short lived but very strong.

Back from Blood Care.
First off if you are etremely squemish feel free to jump to the next post.
I was greeted by 15 workers which was my 1st clue it was not a normal day at the ye ole blood center. Turns out Trainee day! Oh lucky me!
I told them I had poor veins and was a bad stick so I did not want a trainee. Well guess what- I got trainee. The intiial stick was ok but apparantly it was not "in" so they spent the next 30 mins digging around my vein w/ the needle trying to get the motherload of veins :scared: After they held the needle and my arm in an exact certain configuration - blood slowly trickled out. After a while they decided it was a no-go. Blood was not flowing. I bravely told them they could pickup with the other arm to fill the bag but they said they were not allowed to do that.
The best part of the whole thing was when the trainee was taking the needle out- in front of 5 other trainees and her trainer- she screamed bloody murder! :rotfl2: Turns out the culprit was a clot that shot out when the needle came out. She was so scared.
So.... I have a huge bruise and did not end up saving anyone's life. :sad1:
But- got a good laugh out of it. :)

Coral, DH had the same experience at the hospital. I was surprised he allowed the girl to poke around so much. He had 5 band aids and a few days later was so angry he made me take a picture to show the Dr the next time we went. Hope yours doesn't get so bad. It was worse the days before the pic was taken.

Glad you are back. I was woried about you.:grouphug:

HAIR UPDATE

Thanks for all the green hair advice. DW went with the swimmers shampoo mixed with baking soda and the results were great. The girls are blond once again. Jack:cool1:

Good to know it worked.

Got some more things crossed off the lists. Finished all the t-s****, need to finish the magnets and hopefully we will get to packing some stuff. Everything is washed and ironed. That is so it can get all wrinkled in the suitcases. :lmao:
Spoke to AA and they verified we are grandfathered in for 2 bags each no fee.:thumbsup2 Got the Supershuttle booked. Stoped the mail and paper. Have to notify the sherrifs office so they will keep an eye out. Would have liked to get another outside light. The neighbor on the woody side neer has a light outside at night. And it is dark!!!!
And to boot, we got up at 10am this morning so it is a late start. Also surprised we were still on #13.

Ahoy Crew!:wave2:

Yeah - we're back early from our camping trip. As I was looking at exactly how dirty everything was getting, and thinking about how much was left to do to pack for to TOAL - well, I needed the three extra days. That and the boys were making noises that they were ready to come home. So, we bagged that last beach in OR and headed home. It's nice to be home - though DH has the house ripped up from all the fixing up he was doing. He wasn't planning on our return until Sunday. :rotfl: The boy's room has been completely rearranged, and is being used as the tool crib. They're sleeping out in the camper until all the work gets done. :rotfl2:

I took advantage of our early return to get the boys' tuxes to our local tailor. The pants are great, but the jackets are HUGE. I had to get one size larger to have the pants be long enough. He swears he'll have the suit jackets rebuilt by Tuesday at close. :confused3 I said to just do what he can. And he was nice enough to volunteer to press the shirts. :flower3:

The postcards I ordered (made the from pictures the boys took during one of our day hikes) arrived and turned out great! To whomever discovered Vista Print - THANKS! :thumbsup2

So, I'm sitting here scratching my head over what else needs to be done for this trip. I haven't done ANY planning for DL. Not a single ARD, no idea what rides to tackle first, nothin'. :rolleyes1 Still, we've got a hotel, and tickets (Thanks Desiree!) so it can't be all bad. eh?

Oh... REAL CRUISE QUESTION...

I expect you've discussed it recently, but I haven't been around the last few weeks. How do we get our booze on board? Like the airlines? Box it and send it through the porters? Or do we have to unbox it (from the airline box) and carry it onboard?

Sorry for the groundhog!

Finally... Ahoy! and Welcome! to all the new names I see. It's great to have you aboard.

.

I've skipped a bunch of pages as I've had a really incredibly busy and stressful week at work - its all sorted now but I'm glad that week is done!

4.5 work days to go, we finish at lunch time on Friday and our flight is in the afternoon on Friday.

Mum saw the cardiologist last week and in his opinion she hadn't had a heart attack and can not find any damage or cause for concern. He thinks the machine was being over zealous in its readings. Good news definitely!

Today we did a bunch of chores and I got a couple of books from a charity shop to bring along for the book exchange.

Our house sitter called today to go through things, she seems lovely and the dogs liked her. I hope she treats my babies nicely and that they behave for her.

I finally saw Mamma Mia today and it was a great feel good movie. I'll definitely see that again on DVD. Even Mum liked it and she doesn't like Abba music.

Tomorrow we have a few odds and ends to finish up but are mostly "done" from our list of stuff to be done. I even have written out a meal plan to get us through to Thursday night so we don't need to think about it. Robert's Mum is cooking us dinner tomorrow so that'll be nice not to have to think about it.

Night to those still awake and morning to those just getting up - I can't wait to see you all in person next weekend!

Safe travels to all and a huge THANK YOU to all those who have arranged, helped, planned and joined in the fun to truly make this a TOAL!

Great news about your Mum!!!

Have a safe tripto CA. Make sure you all stand up or walk around as often as you can to keep the blood moving in your legs.

Hi Andrew!

Greetings from Gate 20, JetBlue terminal, JFK airport -- our flight boards in about 30 minutes and we are good to go . . . next stop, Long Beach, CA!

Have a good Saturday, everyone, and we will see you soon!:thumbsup2

Linda & I were just talking about you, saying you should be on your way to Cali right now! Save me a spot at the pool bar! If we don't run into you there, we'll see you for Fantasmic!

Everything from the boards indicates that if you pack liquor in luggage, you will be summoned to remove it or lose it.

You need to carry it on.

Only question on this seems to be that cases of water may have been able to be checked by some people.

Rules,

Not in your luggage!!!

Either in your carry on so it fits through x ray scanner at port.

Carry on:-

Responses from DCL say on food and drink.

Please be aware that any fragile items and beverages
must be hand-carried onboard in a day bag and/or carry-on, which cannot
exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep.

It must be secure and unopened and be able to fit through the port x-ray scanner.

Or seperate and packaged well and clearly marked what it is. Porters will take, he reasons are bottles break and can cause damage to clothes yours/others, and also the smell can put off the security dogs.

:rotfl: :rotfl:

10ds& I are really enjoying the countries coming into the stadium - I'm using my laptop so that I can Dis & watch the Olympics.

All of us were awe struck with what the Chinseswere able to do with the Opening Ceremonies........ We weren't happy that NBC kept going to comercial when the fireworks came on! :headache:

Yeah... We were like "Don't go to commercial in the middle of the fireworks!" and they did... Why did they think we wouldn't want to see that? And there was some other stuff that we missed due to commercials too. Geez they edited it later! They could've done commercials so we didn't miss anything. Though it was already 4+hours long...

It was exciting to see Aruba march into the stadium tonight and then we all said - "We are going there."

We did that too!

I agree about the crunchy stuff, but I do enjoy mustard (spicy or grey poupon) along with the Miracle Whip light, as well as a hard boiled egg in my tuna. I usually don't do the egg due to my diet, but it does add some good flavor. I've had tuna for my lunch at work about 4 days each week for the past 3 months. So please, NO tuna on the TOAL!

I too will eat an egg in the tuna unless I'm too lazy to fix one ;)

Ahh, all of you keep talking Miracle Whip!! Todd, where is that nasty smiley when I need him? Hellmans is it!:cool1:

:lmao:

This would be so funny if all did this. We are all so funny what we come up with. :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Can we get Shutters for this?

it is very exciting.. some people have left already others are leaving in a day or two...

here's the question - who is the last to leave??? pirate: princess: :wizard: :dance3:
please turn off the lights!!!

That will probably be me - we have a flight at 6:50am EST on the 17th
Now everyone subscribe to this thread so that we can find it again when we return ;)

Just a drive by posting while I sit at Beach Bum Beauty Salon. Having a cut and new color. Went with a bit lighter color and highlights in April. Everyone liked it but I just couldn't get used to it myself. This time I'm going darker. We'll see how it turns out.

After I'm done here it's shopping, laundry and packing. Picked up my dress last night and some books for the exchange. Dress looks good but I'm starting to question if giving up my shawl was the best thing. Too late now. I am SO not ready to leave on Tues after work!

Oh.... not sure if anyone mentioned it or not. I ordered my rum and other necessities from albertsons.com and am having them delivered to the GC. If you sign up for their preferred card, they'll email you the number and you can use it online. I saved enough to cover the $10 delivery charge, tax, and still save $5.

Happy Packing All!

Well, that's a pain in the patoot. Pack it all up nice an secure in a special box for the airport gorrillas, and then unpack it and carry it on unsecurely for the ship. Pthththt. We're bringing a case of wine. DH is gonna love that. Wonder how big our rolling cooler is.

Andrew - so you mean that if we leave it in the airline packing and clearly mark it - they'll take it as baggage?

Part 1 the offical line from DCL is carry on, with you,
but lots of reports from West coast cruises, on part 2 the porters do take if its clearly labled and secure and you do not need to carry it around on embarkation.

will the special box make it through the x-ray?

get one of those briefcase dollys to wheel it around?

I've had someone ask me if we'll have our SPOT tracking device with us, and tracking the Magic. And if so, can they piggy back and let their family have the site to track from?

The answer to both is YES! It's one of the reasons I put the information out there for everyone. We will have SPOT on, zip tied to the railing or something, and will take it on our excursions. You are very welcome to send folks to the site for the tracking information. The easiest way to get the URL is through my blog... http://EsterisWanderings.blogspot.com . The link is at the top of the left side column.
