Because, like me, you can't leave them at home and you're going no matter what!
Ouch!
I'm with you! :thumbsup2
Don't say that! Wheelchairs go first!

Okay, I no longer feel sorry for your long flight which is 2x the length of mine.

Furthermore, I will try not to think of you while boarding and heading toward the back of the plane with 4 kids and a car seat. Have one of those free drinks for me, will you? :goodvibes

He he,:cool1: Yes I will try to 'nick' some free drinks and Wine, the Champers though comes by the glass only!!!!

In the 11 hour flight I hope to get some sleep!!:cool2:

My DW and I were riding bikes and going through an area with three 90 degree turns fairly close together. Anyway, she braked too hard on the second corner and went flying over her handlebars. It was horrible to watch as I was behind her. I was expecting her to get up in tears and hurting, but she just got up and laughed...thankful for no broken bones! She did break a nail, got a very nasty bruise on her thigh and scrapes on her arm, but overall she got lucky. On the last cruise, she had rotator cuff surgery two weeks prior to the cruise so we don't need any broken arms, etc.!!!
Oh:headache: Hope June's ok:flower3:
Glad nothings broken:thumbsup2

I don't blame you! I don't live on an island, but my own family won't discuss it with me. If it wasn't for this thread & chat, I would be jumpin' out of my skin!
:lmao: same here

Hey there!!! Just a very fast checkin.....we'll be home on Sunday and getting ready for the countdown to the TOAL.

I'm really sad about missing all the last minute fun here, but have had an awesome time with family and friends that I've not seen in 15+ years.

Can't wait to meet NEW friends in just one short week!!!:yay:
Hey Stace:yay:
We can't wait to meet you too:thumbsup2

And lastly, the fact that I actually booked the plane tickets and I have to fly!
Couldn't I just do this?:teleport: The nightmares will now officially start!:headache:

I've become very stressed about flying over the years too:sad2: My dr prescribed something for me to take before the flight. Now watch I forget it at home:rolleyes:

And some things we didn't need :thumbsup2 Brownie mix and ice cream.

Andy

gosh that sounds good right now... :)
:lmao: I was thinking the same thing:thumbsup2 :lmao:

Thanks for the advice! :)

quoting myself to add:
I forgot to also mention that in one week of band camp she somehow managed to COMPLETELY CRUSH all the stupid styrofoam molding inside her stupid SOFT sided clarinet case. ugh I knew that case wasn't a good idea! But she thought it was "cool" -much cooler than the old hard case I already had. I should have known she'd need something more durable! So now when I have a ton of other things to do I'm browsing online to buy another clarinet case. She can not carry her clarinet around like this- it's completely demolished inside so it's like the pieces of her clarinet are just -well imagine all loose in a case just banging and clanging against each other- not good for delicate keys and such.
sigh..................................
I'm gonna try to get some sleep though. registration/fittings is tomorrow and I'll work on ordering the case online tomorrow and maybe it will be here by the time we get back. LOL (yes mail is on hold while we're gone- I mean arrive to the post office while we're gone LOL Closest music store here is about 45min away so I might as well buy it online! shipping cost the same as gas plus takes less of my time too LOL)

My DS14 also plays clarinet and I've had a hard time getting him to be careful with it too:headache:
He's managed to ruin the case that his clarinet came in and broke the strap on the new case:rolleyes:

Sorry about your DD's broken toe:hug:
Are you ok with her staying in the hotel room by herself if she gets too sore to walk:confused3
Kids seem to heal faster than us old folks;)

Hi Andrew!

Greetings from Gate 20, JetBlue terminal, JFK airport -- our flight boards in about 30 minutes and we are good to go . . . next stop, Long Beach, CA!

Have a good Saturday, everyone, and we will see you soon!:thumbsup2

I'm going to shut down the laptop now -- happy Saturday, everyone!

Happy Saturday pirate: I actually looked into my closet this morning and thought, "You know, I REALLY should start organizing and packing." :rotfl2: I think I'm going to wake up my boys and head over to Kohl's ... youngest needs new sneakers and oldest needs another pair of dress pants. And who knows ... I might find something for me too ;) Then it's off to the sporting goods store for new backpacks.

I want to get out and back as early as possible today. The forecast had more rain for today, but now they've changed their mind and the weather is supposed to be practically perfect. I think I need to practice sitting in my lounger and reading a book ... want to make sure I've got it right for NEXT WEEKEND :woohoo:

Safe travels for all that are heading out already. I don't have the option of being nervous to travel ... DH takes care of that for me, so I need to be in control for the kiddos  He's already asked me a zillion times what time our flight leaves on Friday ... and will he have time to have a few drinks before we board :rotfl:

~Kandi

Okay ... Here is a classic night before vacation story. I finished packing tonight, as I am leaving tomorrow afternoon. So I'm weighing my luggage and I'm not really sure how it happened, but I managed to stub my toe. Not just stub, but pulled the toenail partly off. Now I am in pain, and have to cancel my pedicure. Someone feel pity for me ... Pleeeaaaasssee

Ouch! I'm sorry and I hope it feels better soon! I'm sure it wil feel much better once you land in California. ;)

I just attacked a poor teenage girl at a wedding who I heard discussing the cruise :) Something about her whole family going "The Goodwins" but she wasn't going. I live in on an island so anyone but me discussing the cruise was a rarity!!!

~Ingrid

I would have done the same thing!! I live in HUGE area and the only people I know of on this crusie are the ones on the board!! And believe me I have mentioned it every chance I've had for the last year and a half -- hoping to meet someone else that loves DCL!

YOu know - I only had to say this once or twice to my DD when she picked up on thethe "they're paying -so its free" bit. Now, she totally invites me to go places with her. Only took me about 2 times before I caught on. Now all the kids want to know where we are going on the family vacation. :headache: I created monsters! :sad2:

DH is more likely to pay for them then I am. ;) It was his idea to take them on the 10nt and if DS could have come on this trip DH would have paid for Katherine & Michael to come on this cruise.
I told him I didn't think I could afford those 2 for 15 nts! LOL! DD told me she didn't drink as much as Micahel so, it was cheaper to bring her... Michael might have drank more but, she called her fiance (now dh) all the time! :scared1: And if she had just told her dad he would have let her use his cell phone instead -- he has international calling. :headache:
Right now the 3 younger ones (17dd, 10ds & 7dd) are cheaper to take places then their brother & sister! LOL!

Wished I could have watched the opening cermonies, but I've been working with my DS10 on his homework that was given to him this past Wednesday when we enrolled him in school for the year. As he's missing 8 1/2 days, they decided to load him up. However, he's had a very positive attitude about it! He even cleaned his room today better than he's ever done, as well as volunteered to help with chores. Are we in the twilight zone!? :confused3

A 10ds with a positive attitude, cleaned his room and volunteered for chores..... spooky......

Ouch to June! I'm glad that she wasn't hurt too bad!!

HAIR UPDATE

Thanks for all the green hair advice. DW went with the swimmers shampoo mixed with baking soda and the results were great. The girls are blond once again. Jack:cool1:
