Jack, I had that happen once with hair coloring. Was told to wash my hair with Ivory soap and it all came out.

This reminds me, we all know that we'll be eating foods that we would otherwise not eat (Mickey Rice Krispy Treats dipped in Chocolate! etc.)

However, what food are you sick of that you refuse to eat on the TOAL? My list includes:

1. Oatmeal
2. Salmon
3. Oatmeal
4. Canned Tuna
5. Oatmeal
6. Low Fat Cottage Cheese,
7. Oatmeal
8. Raw Carrots and Celery! AND
9. Oatmeal

Um.......I'm sensing your tired of oatmeal?

Anyone know if you travel with regular film if you should put it in carry on or pack it? I know it has changed since they've made the xray machines and such stronger... I just bought some of those underwater cameras and don't want them to get ruined before we use them.

I've always heard that the x-ray machines that your checked luggage goes in is much stronger.

Others have reported that you can keep the film out and give it to the person who watches you walk through the x-ray machine to inspect so it doesn't go through the machine itself. Not sure if they'd do the same thing with the disposables.

One of the many reasons that we are 100% digital now!

question:
do the security xrays damage things like digital cameras? I don't think so cause I've always taken mine- but what about laptops? no worries there?

Oh no.. this happened to me once at camp (I think because of high chlorine levels) My mom had to cut over 6 inches of hair off cause it was green on the ends! (fortunately my hair was very long- so even 6 inches wasn't disastrous LOL)
I'd have to ask my mom in the morning if she ever figured out a way to fix this problem..... cause I only remember her having to cut my hair once.....

For those of you planning on booking on board and changing your date later I saw this at the top of the page:

NEW CANCELLATION POLICY - Effective 8/31/08

If you need to cancel your cruise and are within the penalty period for doing so, Disney Cruise Line will no longer allow you to change the date. You will be required to cancel your existing cruise and absorb whatever penalties are in effect and rebook the new date.

easy enough- just don't change your date after the penalty period/paid in full date. Does anyone ever really do that? Don't most people change the date BEFORE it was due paid in full anyway? So this should be no biggie....

But during the TOAL, they change it to 0.22g - so we're ok.

This time next week we will be at DL

While we were at WDW on a trip we had planned before grabbing a cabin on the TOAL, my dog "Disney" was taken sick....to the vet and then on to 5 days at the emergency hospital. After many $$$ tests she is improving. In addition to worrying about her and giving her meds, I have been trying to get my room ready at school. This will be my 34th year in 4th grade, my fourth graders always laugh about that...Today I was at school finishing plans, hard to do without a schedule or classlist... but I team teach with my best friend. She does the literacy and I teach Math, Science and DE history. We usually share 58 to 60 students.

After writing a note on the board for the students and parents for "Meet the Teacher Night" and putting notes on the world map, I stepped in the hallway and set off the school alarm.... They had locked me in. Waited for the police... no one came.. so I drove home (5 minutes)and tried to call principal.... couldn't get her so I tried the secretary - she called my principal on her cell and left a message. Drove back to school - listened and didn't hear the alarm - waited and waited - no one showed up....


Now I'm trying to finish up the 20 scrapbooking kits and pack my carry on.... I plan to RELAX when we finally board the ship... But since this is my first cruise I'll probably be so busy I'll never rest.
Can't wait to meet all of you ... Have a safe trip. See you soon.

Yikes! We finally broke our record streak of 90+ days here in Denver at 24. The most in recorded history. Today's high was about 77, but yet I heard people complain about the "humidity". They have no idea what humidity is.

Once it turns green I don't know if you can do anything... I have 3 blondes and with my oldest dd we used a swimmer's shampoo on her as soon as she got out of the pool.....

I know awhile back someone posted about those cheapy digital cams for underwater pics...

Before i get one of those instead of two disposeables....did anyone get one and have it work ok?

The reviews on circuit city weren't great...

Which cheapy digi cams?? What brand are you talking about?

I bought an inexpensive one at Rite Aid yesterday..not sure how it works..we are working on that right now...at the price of $15 each for the disposible..I figure if this one takes half way decent pix...it was worth it..the brand is SAKAR AQUA SHOT and it was 24.95..I will let you know how it is.

Do you have a particular airline you want? Or are those just the general flights available?

Is the seat availability from the airline website or expedia type? I find the airline website often has seats not on the expedia, etc.

Seems US Air is the only one with direct flights from Philly to LV. 8:30 flight is out now anyway, no room left. Now we may leave Saturday morning...

Without having the actually flight booked it is keeping me from having to say I am flying...

Very true! The kids have decided that if they want to go outside and play on their bikes/scooters they have to give up watching their morning shows and get out there before it gets too hot...usually by 11, noon the latest.

THere are a couple things they can do that I try to make my blonde DD do. If they rinse off really well before getting in the pool, getting their hair fully wet, that will help because the hair can't absorbe as much clorinated water since they are already saturated with the fresh water. She could also comb conditioner through their hair before going in the pool. I think that is suppose to work the same way. Lastly, there is clorine shampoo just for this problem. You can find it at Target or WM.

Good luck! My kids had appts a couple of weeks ago....I had told them they neither one would be getting shots (10 & 7).....turned out that neither had done the *booster chicken pox* shot...... I was the most hated mom on the planet at that moment...... 10ds was trying not to cry because his sister was crying.... It was way sad all around. I did promise the 7yr old french fries -- her favorite treat.

I actually cried today for DD5. She ended up needing 4 shots because of that darn Chicken Pox booster. And DD14 didn't even really need a shot. Not getting her Gardasil (SP?) done just yet, but she never had the Chicken Pox vaccine and she sort of volunteered to get it today do little Dina wasn't all alone. Well, after her shot was done, she and DD9 ran out of the room so they didn't have to hear their little sister. They actually went OUTSIDE to wait.

She actually didn't cry with the first one, eventhough it was just seconds later they stuck her with the second (MMR) that sent her over the edge. She knew she was getting two more in her other arm and she begged and pleaded for them not to do it! It really was heartbreaking for me today. At least much more so than usual. She did get to go to Chuck E Cheese and got another princess bike. When that gets put together...we'll have to see.

My hair stylist told me to put conditioner on DD's hair before swimming. It seems to be working. She's been in the pool 4-5x a week for the last 6 weeks and no green so far.
