Supposedly removes the swelling and inflammation in the area so that the nerves aren't being pressed....therefore, less pain. Chemically....I don't know. I'm just glad it does.

The fluid replacement injections in the knee really worked wonders too.

Oh lord, I sound like my Grandma!!!

What am I doing up this late??? The injections really helped Rich and this time they switched it to Euflexxa instead of the Synvisc. He got his knee braces which he hates and got approved for a device to help him walk without dragging the leg. It is coming next week. Hope it helps keep the pressure off the hip and knee.

I didn't get an itinerary with my cruise docs. Just luggage tags, a checklist a red "make sure ya got citizenship docs & get on the boat by 4 pm", and the travel booklet. waaahhh

I heard if you did some online registering you didn't get that part of the docs.

CRUISE QUESTION

If I rent a tux from DCL, will they include cuff links? What's the deadline for doing this?

Yes and 14 days

Yeah!

Finally finished all our costumes. Now the task of packing them, ugh!

Here is my oldest daughter in her ES POTC Gold Gown:

The shoes took 8 weeks, had an old world cobbler make them in Canada. Great job! I dressed them up a little based on the originals from the movie.

Call me crazy but I had a ball creating it.

Darth, we are beyond words. You guys will be spectacular. I can't wait to see yours.

Laura, were you guys being bitten by insects ON THE SHIP???? I have never heard of such a thing! And the hair . . . I am usually such an optimist but your reports are starting to get me down . . .

Hope you have an uneventful disembarkation . . . but given how things have been going, maybe that's not possible.

Lots of love:love:

Let's hope it's not bedbugs. I think Cheryl told me she heard of a cabin horror story. Maybe she can fill in.

Off to bed. Work tomorrow and lots of errands to run during lunch.

I didn't get an itinerary with my cruise docs. Just luggage tags, a checklist a red "make sure ya got citizenship docs & get on the boat by 4 pm", and the travel booklet. waaahhh
Us either. Was an itinerary supposed to be in the cruise docs?

Played ketchup again tonight. Got through page 147...still a bunch to go! Oh well, I'm home tomorrow. Maybe I'll get some time on the computer. Had a great bridal shower at a fun wine bar in Sacramento. We had champagne flights, played some silly games, and ate loads of yummy cheeses and fruits. It was a great break from reality - wedding and cruise planning! AND I got our FE done. My friend helped. There's nothing Disney on it, but I think it turned out good. All I have to say is I hope no one is prone to seizures due to blinking lights..... Off to bed now!

We usually pack one suitcase per person but because we are going for a longer time we are just taking 4 larger suitcases and splitting everything however it fits. We will also have 2 carry ons - one is laptop and one is for the FE gifts.
thanks for the reply!
I have to look up what weight requirements are on carryons. These door magnet FE's weigh a lot even though they are small...it's the NUMBER of them (400) LOL

I've never flown with a laptop but I am thinking about doing it this time.. to have access the week at HOJO's before the cruise and HOPEFULLY access in our stateroom on the cruise. atleast online it says "most staterooms"- we'll see if I'm lucky enough. LOL

Hey Shelley, I will never pack one person per suitcase again. On our very first Disney cruise the boys were much smaller and I could pack all their stuff except formal wear in individual rolling backpacks that each one was responsible for. We made it all the way from California to Florida with no problems. At the port we had them leave their backpacks with the porter, tagged and ready to go, so they wouldn't have to drag them around the ship for the afternoon. You guessed it, one of the backpacks never made it to our cabin. The short story is DCL was very accomodating and gave us some t-shirts, laundry soap and a few items from the Treasure Ketch. Rachel was the CD and came to our room to talk with DS who was 9 at the time. He was really upset because his Beanie Baby tiger was in the backpack along with the journal his grandmother had given him to write down all his experiences. She had some stuffed animals sent to our cabin later that day and took DS down to pick out another journal.

The backpack was eventually returned when someone in a suite was putting out their bags on the last night of the cruise and realized this red rolling backpack did not belong to them! My first reaction was "Geez, those suites must be HUGE to not notice a red rolling backpack for a whole week that isn't yours".

Michelle
That's the kind of thing I was afraid of- except I sure didn't think it could happen that someone ON THE SHIP could get it and sit with it in their room for the entire week (or two weeks or whatever). that's so totally ridiculous! Those people should be ashamed. I don't see HOW they could have extra luggage and not realize that the entire time they were there. That doesn't even make sense.... so what is it- pure laziness and cruelty towards children? I don't get it... they had to know someone (in the room number on the tag on it!) was very upset about it being missing. :(

We can do any day but, Monday/Friday and we can't be anywhere before 2... Samantha has Driver's Ed 11 - 1 and it is in Arlignton near I-20/Little Rd.

Dh has his own suitcase, Samantha packs her own suitcase, Elvis has his own ususally BUT, alot of time I split Claire's stuff up between my suitcase and her brother's.....
And we usually just have one suitcase each.

UGH!!! How frustrating!!!! I will say that when we stayed in the Roy I put all of the suitcases/carry-ons in this little storage room and never opened the door again until we needed to pack to leave! But, I know what suitcases we have and would notice if one of them wasn't ours! Dh wouldn't though......
I don't think DH would notice if we had an extra suitcase or backpack either- not by just glancing. But even if I wasn't there he WOULD be going thru them to get things out and would open them all- and if he opened one and it wasn't things he needed/knew he packed and/or knew it wasn't things for our kids (even if he had to ask them) or even look at the tag.. he would have turned it in. I can't understand how someone could have a bag they know isn't theirs- yet never even notice they have an extra bag and keep it all week. Totally weird and awful!

That's cool about not coming before 2pm. I'll have to see if you told me in email your phone number so maybe I can call you to talk about it and/or give you my cell # so you can call me when you're coming so we can make sure we meet you when you get there or something?
Okay so Tues, Wed or Thurs... I'll let my niece know and find out what day she can get off from work to go to six flags with us and then I can plan HF one of the days AFTER six flags.... I'll let you know tomorrow hopefully.

We usually have one suitcase each (or less- when Rita was little all she had was tiny clothes that didn't take up much space and no extra toiletries/etc. just some clothes and shoes- and I'd put them in with Robert's usually. Now the kids are all older and need more "stuff" for everyday living (toiletries, hair accessories and styling tools, etc.) I'm hoping I can manage one suitcase per person and one carryon per person... probably not counting Rita on the carryon and maybe even making her checked luggage a carryon size luggage.... since we won't have Jeff to help with luggage and Rita can't manage much herself. But I don't think i'm gonna do all one person's stuff in each suitcase because I'm already having anxiety/concerns about doing that.. I think I'd rather if one piece of luggage gets lost we each are missing an outfit or two... rather than one person's wardrobe/etc. being NOTHING if their suitcase is lost. Just a few shirts, some laundry soap and a few items from the store is not going to cut it if one person in our family has NOTHING cause their suitcase was lost... especially me because they would have very little, probably NOTHING, that would fit me good on the ship. That would definitely be a disaster if my stuff was all gone!
:(

No you won't ;) I live in capris...and don't plan to stop now.
alright.... my kind of woman. LOL

 That's rediculous!! They could have walked it down to GS...idiots. :sad2:
I totally agree! Or they probably could have just called and had it removed wihtout having to lift a finger except for the phone call!

I didn't get an itinerary with my cruise docs. Just luggage tags, a checklist a red "make sure ya got citizenship docs & get on the boat by 4 pm", and the travel booklet. waaahhh
It's like on the pages of the tiny booklet thing.

Yeah!

OMG that is beyond amazing! wow.......

For those who ordered the patch..here it is:

100_3391.jpg
Oh no....... I missed out on a patch to order? Oh I'm in trouble with the kid now......

That's really impressive. I am not showing my DD these pics ;)

Andy
Ditto that- neither am I! LOL

Hey all, for once in my 13 cruises - I am finally packed early! Finished about 1 pm then went and had lunch and of course, God or some jokester felt it was necessary to send me off with a farewell gift - how about a long black hair baked into my desert? :lmao: I just had to laugh - things like this have been happening all week.

In the meantime, has a disboard meet been set up for this thread? We had one in Studio Sea and it was a nice turn out yesterday. We were originally set to meet in Sessions but a conflict moved us to Studio Sea. The coordinator said if we want and hasn't been done - it would probably be a good idea to see if someone can reserve it. I've been out of touch so long can't remember if anyone took this on.

For now, I am ready to go and catch the Farewell show and gloat because I'm packed and I got off fairly easy aside from the alcohol bill. BTW, chiggers, fleas and other critters got Megan, Andrew and myself - all last night and this morning. Please be sure to pack mosquito repellant or biting flea spray. I'm all marked up.

Oh yeah, they had an AWESOME adult cabaret - Blackstreet Boys from LA - OMG! THEY WERE HILARIOUS. More details later, gotta fly!

Miss you all!

OmG were you getting bit in the ROOM?
Please don't say yes, please don't say yes, please don't say yes.
:scared1:

Please, please tell me the bugs weren't in your room!! I am not liking this report at all. I HATE bugs :sad2:
Amen to that!

The silia packs are only of use in sealed underwater housings. They need a relatively small air space to be effective.

I'm not bothering to bring anything other than the cameras this trip.

Any condensation which occurs when you go from the AC of the ships interior to the decks will dissapate in a few miutes.

Andy

Andy
Same here... I freaked out the first time the condensation showed up on our last cruise but I got over it once I saw it dissapeared in a few minutes each time.

You can tell you aren't a woman! :rotfl2:

I've started a pile on the floor in my closet. I think tomorrow I may put it in a suitcase or box.....
I agree! OMG there is no way I could wait that long to pack. I'm usually packed way before now except a few things to add here and there. I can see my DH packing a few minutes before leaving though. LOL

LOL our guest bedroom has been attacked bt the TOAL packing monster.
I'll post a pic tomorrow

Andy
ditto that- except I won't show a picture and ous isn't in a guest bedroom (with 3 kids seperate bedrooms there isn't a guest bedroom here...... yet LOL) ours is all on the forma dining room floor and in suitcases there still left open and not anywhere near finished yet.

The itinerary was in the little booklets- on the pages in there like the docs that you sign/etc.

Stace- I adore your car!! That car is (was) on my list for next year, but considering I am hoping we might have a little one next year, it wouldn't be practical. I never thought I'd be practical :)

Mine is the new Clubman...it's bigger than a regular Mini Cooper, and has an extra door that opens to the back seat. Don't give up on it yet, go take a look at the Clubmans. And if it isn't an "S" model the price isn't all that much more.

LADIES or gents

I need help choosing a skirt, for pirate nights, to go with my BLACK peasant blouse
Having a hard time deciding - I can use some opinions

Is #1 brown, or more of a rust color? If it's rust, I like that one. And for sure the black peasant top would go with the last one.
:thumbsup2

PETER!!!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome costume for your daughter. And she is really lovely. I LOVE the shoes!!

You guys are all so amazing with these costumes. I will definitely be coming to the Captain's dinner seating to take pictures. I hope the people at other tables don't think I work at Shutters!

oooh oooh I was asked once "Do you have grass in NM?" :lmao: :lmao: My response: Yes some people have lawns....

Maybe I'll call the special needs woman again and ask about this... Another question... If anyone has actually had a real fridge in the room is it cold enough to freeze the blue packs anyway? Much rather use the blue packs since they melt slower than regular ice and regular ice will leak water all over all the time...

Really? Mine doesn't even show "Monday"... Friday: Sea Day, Saturday: Sea Day, Tuesday: Cartagena....

Growing up in Nebraska, we'd travel and people would ask us "Ohhhh...do you live on a farm??" I guess they didn't know that there's at least one big city in Nebraska.:confused3

As for the fridge....no...they don't get cold enough to freeze anything. Even the larger ones in the handicap rooms and suites don't.

Just got home from a party and we're having company over tomorrow, so I should be in bed.
I did get all my stuff packed for the 10 day trip in Nebraska...and a lot of things ready for the cruise, since I'm only home for four days before the Moms begin their Great Adventure.....

CRUISE QUESTION

If I rent a tux from DCL, will they include cuff links? What's the deadline for doing this?

Yes they do supply, book now or within the next week. Best to do at least two weeks in advance, but they may squeeze you in.

About the cameras and humidity.....I've had mine on a lot of different extended trips to the "tropics" and they haven't suffered any long term damage. As was said before, it just takes a few minutes for the fog to clear from them when coming out of the air conditioning. Don't wipe the moisture away, just let it go away on its own. Once the camera has been outside, it adjusts to the humidity and won't fog up again unless you take it back inside for a while and then back out. If I know I might take more pictures, like on PC day, I'll just leave it outside on a table or chair.

Cheryl, welcome home....congrats on the docs, and that's good news about your son!!!

Just browsing google and stumbled across these bento boxes - aren't they amazing! Too good to eat!

Wow the work that has gone into these...

Gosh I feel like such a snitch! :rotfl: Anyway, got some bad news for some of you. It seems that our resident live-in-celebrity will not be joining our pirate: group on the crossing. Seems Disney did the demographics and the common age is tweeners.

So, they did not "ask" our resident celebrity to join us. Instead, they will be kicking him off come tomorrow. :rotfl2: That just sounds so weird. They did announce who would be on here right? Ally & A.J. God, please don't let it be HM. NOT A RUMOR FOLKS, just a hope. However, this Ally & A.J. came from the resident's spouse. Seems my son (Andrew - its that name I tell you - Andrew just is a pain in the behind ;) ) struck up a "loo" conversation and it turns out that this was trip was originally planned. I didn't believe him so I set out to find out the truth. Turns out, he was telling the truth, also JF is a huge Star Wars hogger as in the arcade game. My son tried to play but JF outlasted him and he gave up after 45 minutes. :lmao: Finally, another smart add outsmarting another smart add. :rotfl2:

As for the farewell show today, it was a great hit. The Blackstreet Boys did a smidgon of their show and they were a crowd favorite. They will be seen on an upcoming film with Ice T. They've done some other stuff but it eludes me now. Sonja White, the other entertainer, was a contestant on Last Comic Standing on Season 4. She was also recently seen on Southern Dixie Chick or something like that. She's funny and let me tell you - that lady can get down. She was holding her own with the college age group. I was occasionally allowed to dance as long as I didn't go crazy. I went a little crazy yesterday with Flo Rida's "In the Ayer" and I was sent to my cabin - told I was too old. Humph! Too old my but! I got "Low"-er than my DD - 'course she had her knee surgury which doesn't allow for extreme movement but I can still hang - (when I'm allowed too! :lmao: )

So that's about it now folks, this Twilight Zone cruise has come to an end. Did I mention the black hair that was baked into my dessert at Lumiere's today? I know I mentioned it to someone - can't remember who. :scratchin

Oh well, but be old age, ok - had to buy some more time so I may as well use it instead of losing it.

I'm going to skim - Talk to you on the flip side!

Laura, were you guys being bitten by insects ON THE SHIP???? I have never heard of such a thing! And the hair . . . I am usually such an optimist but your reports are starting to get me down . . .

Lots of love:love:

Thanks for the wishes - we are hoping too - all in all - that being said, while the service was not EXTREMELY bad, it was just a tad bit different. I was searching to see if one post I sent came through but it didn't. Even my Head Server Jeevan said that this has been the craziests cruise in a long time.

Please, please tell me the bugs weren't in your room!! I am not liking this report at all. I HATE bugs :sad2:

OK, but if you don't want me to lie..........:rotfl2:

OmG were you getting bit in the ROOM?
Please don't say yes, please don't say yes, please don't say yes.
:scared1:

Honestly, I"m not sure. We suspect that it may have started in Rocking Bar D, but it definitely started with Megan in their cabin. However, here's my theory, I have noticed in the past that for the first days - we are fine. Then once we hit land and beaches, I usually get bitten sometime on the last days. On the May one, I had absolutely no problems, however, less kids, no mosquitoes, etc This trip, more tweeners, beach stops almost right away and lots of mosquitoes. BTW, if your doing a dolphin swim, they request that you don't wear sunscreen as it can endanger the dolphins. THAT BEING SAID, on the Canopy adventures, it specifically states for you to bring insect repellant.

I've had to resort to spraying myself with OFF and toweling my legs as the itching is getting bad. They just happend last night. Not 100% sure if it occurred in Rocking Bar D or in bad last night. Remember, I am also in steerage, deck 2, room 2075. Not as bad because I'm right before the laundry but on the EB PC, I'll be right next to it and getting all the heat from the laundry. Not a good sign. I really think its all that traffice and running. BTW, lost one of my magnets - a Prince Eric one. Darn heathens! I should have known better

BTW, those demon heathens, well they popped up during the farewell show, seems the parents were with them this time and the kept getting up and running up and down the aisles, shouting and just plain jumping in front of everyone during the show. All the while, the parents not saying anything.

Did I tell you that the head of the hotel stopped by our table to "apologize" on behalf of the parents because they could not - some sort of language barrier. The next night, they but the tables in the shape of an I - we were the botto portion of the I they parents were the long part and the kids were the top. They still managed to get up ad walk around and jump around but only this time, they didn't bang on the glasses with knifes and break anything. Well you know the saying - that apple doesn't fall far from the tree, now we know. :rotfl:

All in all, as I said, things were not top notch but we ended up having a good enough time. I do know one thing for certain, if Cabo is as hot as it was, we are going to the beach or something - its too darn hot to do anything else.

BTW, Andrew's condition the other night - he ended up taking Immodium and some Midol - don't ask! :lmao: was related to his illness and he was fine. It was related to what he ate and his condition did not affect anyone else. So I apologize to anyone for scaring you - El Pacifico restaurant is all right!

Cabo Wabo is alright - Steve ate something there and was 100% fine. In fact, he wanted more along with tequila. I have turned him onto the dark side! :darth:

OK - I think I have used up my minutes. Plus I have got to get up in about 5 hours. I hope I can get off w/o any more bites. I asked JoJo to change the sheets in the hopes it wasn't the room but I'm still finding more and more - although Steve and April have eluded the bites. I just told them they weren't sweet enough!

OH yeah, before I forget - was just informed that Hemet just became engaged last week to someone on the Magic - I think - not sure. But make sure to congratulate him and scare the bejeevies out of him.

I have done my part and forewarned everyone about us coming - they all say, bring on the DIS-sers - we are ready. Lets hope so!

And keep some :wizard: and :pixiedust that no more engine problems occure although no one is still claiming to us having any problems. But we know best right - our communication speed is warp speed! :thumbsup2

OK - getting invaded by the teeny boppers - gotta run - :wave2:

There should be pages like this:

Ok, my docs just arrived. I was soooo excited until I noticed something on our itenerary.... Anyone else get the feeling we are going to be going through a black hole or other time warping device?
