ITA. We dress up. We like to dress up. But I really couldn't care less about what everone else is wearing, as long as things that are supposed to be covered are covered and they appear clean.

Please clarify...

The coverings are clean or the parts that should be covered are clean?!? :rotfl:

Hello All! This is our 1st post, though we have been eavesdropping for years! We are going to be cruising with all of you on the great adventure. We are excited yet slightly apprehensive to jump in to all these posts. You all seem like such close friends, it's a tad intimidating. My DH is Roger and we have two DDs; Brenna 9 and Erin 6. Oh! I'm Melissa.

Thanks for all the tips in the past, oh say 8 or 9 YEARS!!!!!

There's always room for more! Welcome to the Family!!! :dance3:

Just FYI - if you need to fill out a Guest Medical Form - it has to be faxed to them atleast 14 days before the cruise.

I was doing our online check-in and have to send one in - I did not realize it had to be 14 days in advance.

Sent Kev's off last Friday.

What do you need these for? I've been thinking that I should call to ask about distilled water, since DH & I both use CPAPs. I know that all of the water on the ship is desalinated, but I don't know if it is the equivilent of Distilled...

Mostly for folkes with special diets, like Kevin who has diabetes or peeps with food allergies. Others that require special medical equipment, etc.

I'm a member of the Teachers Union here in OK,do you think I could get a discount on DL Tickets?

Can someone fill me in please? Why are we talking about missing a port? What did I see about a problem with power on the Magic???
:confused3 :confused3

Laura is on the Magic, and they have lost power a few times with engine troubles. . . of course with our group instead of worrying about her we keep asking if OUR cruise will be affected!;) I wouldn't worry about it, though; DCL will do everything they can to get to ports.

Aw thanks- you're so sweet!
I'll send you a pm. I"m hard to shop for- that is the problem! I've even tried goodwill twice recently..... I can find lots of stuff but finding stuff that FITS is the problem. LOL
I can send you my measurements- that would probably be easier than a size. Sizes are so weird nowadays! I mean come on- medium capris? (8/10) No way I'm a size 8/10. Atleast not what 8/10 was in the old days. I used to wear size 8 when I weighed 115lbs! (I'm very short btw) and I'm way way way WAY heavier than that now. LOL I've tried on things in all sizes and none of it fits- it's like every brand has their own sizing policy or something. :(
Thanks for your offer..... I don't know if you'll have anything that might fit me but we'll see and it sure was nice of you to make such an offer!

I am not sure if you have looked online but here are some options for you
Catherines.com
Avenue.com
Newport-news.com
Coldwatercreek.com
This last store sizes are true to size

They are all having sales right now on summer clothing

Some of them also have plus size short or petite for length wise

If you have a dress barn near you take a look - I was in one the other day and noticed they had a large assortment of larger sizes

As others have said, as long as you are comfortable don't worry about what everyone else thinks, why shouldn't you enjoy the dining room

Bringing it Thurs to the Dr.

Bip, there are lots of places to find a dress on sale now. JC Penney and Macys were having really good sales.Check out Ross,BCF,Marshalls. Just keep looking. I have seen some really classy looking pant suits. In fact it was between one and a dress. The pantsuit lost out as it was mismatched and the top was way too big and would have needed some work, but even a really nice tunic and slacks would look nice.
Don't give up!!!

I'm thinking Not - I'm usually feeling pretty grungy by the time we get through the drill and sailaway and want to get cleaned up. I've heard so much about how HOT it is on PC day that once again I assume I'll want to change for dinner.

I am trying to have some "casual" tops for dining that will do double-duty later as daytime wear. Unless I get really messy at dinner, those clothes will hopefully be fairly clean after only wearing them a couple hours for dinner. DH does a lot of this since he wears short-sleaved plaid shirts pretty much ALL the time. He'll wear a shirt once for dinner with khakis and then it will make an appearance a few days later as his daytime wear with a pair of shorts. Probably, no one has ever even noticed since I doubt they memorize which plaid he is wearing! :lmao:

Pamela

I can point it out if you would like...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I will probably do similar

You should check the main cruise boards (wish the search worked) there are a bunch of discussion threads about CPAPs and distilled water on the Magic. For such a long cruise, you may want to contact ahead.

Also, it won't hurt you to use non-distilled water....

I just hope their idea of upgrade is my idea of upgrade. Because my idea is not a smaller but more fancier vehicle.. I'd rather have the junkiest minivan they have- to fit all of us and our luggage! than a luxury vehicle. KWIM? LOL

I do know what you mean. I'd gladly take an upgrade...if it can seat 6 people! I looked at their website, and it doesn't appear that they have that many vehicle types that will seat 6!

Morning all! Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for the belated birthday wishes.

DD's softball team lost last night so they are out of the regionals. The team they played is also from Wyandotte and they are very aggressive. The coach is a mother of one of dd's classmates and she is a hard charging A type person. I told dd that if she got the female coach next year either I would try to have her switched or she wouldn't play. I don't need her being stressed out over a game!

I did find out that one of our assistant coaches will probably coach next year and he will get a copy of the roster of the girls who aren't moving up, so pretty good chance that dd will get on his team! I guess I have to learn the politics of sports!

DD's friends team won last night, so we may go to the game tonight. They were playing down the street from our game.

Good luck Monica!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Chrissy hope your mom is doing well.

WELCOME! Don't let the length of the thread intimidate you - just read one post at a time :rotfl: I know that reading the thread it looks like we all know each other, but in reality we've actually only met a few others face-to-face. There have only been a few DIS meets and only a small number make it to those. A few folks have cruised together before, but most of us haven't. We have just been chatting here and getting to know each other. Some have joined only recently and are now part of the gang. Keep posting and join in and you will make friends in no time. :thumbsup2

Wow - I sure wish I had DS9's imune system!!! Yesterday at this time, the kid couldn't keep anything down - Today, he is full of life and bouncing off the walls! If it were me, even if the bug had passed I would be wiped out and exhausted the day after.

Monica - Good luck! I hope the interview goes great for you.

Any word from Laura - how are the Magic's engines are doing?
