This was the weekend of sunburn and broken things. DH took DGS to the air show and even though I gave them sunscreen they are both bright pink. Then DD came home from a day of a boat with friends and she was rather toasty. Good thing I stayed home. Then our George Foreman grill went out (it was a wedding present so it is 8 years old), then the TV wouldn't get a picture and when I went to sign on to DIS IE kept opening new windows on my home page. Fortunately all is well. Kohl's had the George Foreman on sale and I had an additional 30% off (but ended up buying lots of other stuff), a new cable box seemed to fix the TV (DH is disappointed he wanted a new TV) and for now the computer is working. I did end up with 2 new skirt outfits. Not what I was looking for, but I can wear them to work too...and they were on sale. Two skirts, one blouse and one sweater for $35.

I'm sorry about the sunburns & broken things but, it sounds like you got a deal on some clothes!

I have some friends on board and this is their first cruise ever...she didn't even want to go on a cruise and her family talked her into it..maybe my friend was sleeping and missed the whole thing!

I hope this isn't freaking her out too much!!!

Please say no.... I really don't want to have to try to find warmer clothing and pack it and all hat. please say no, please say no.

We all ususally wear a light weight jacket or hoodie on the plane so that we have one with us when we travel. No extra packing that way! Compared to our weather it is alot cooler there!

Wow! DD and I will be the dorks walking around DL with shorts and a DL sweatshirt! We are humid and 83 today.

83 ??? It is humid -- how it can be humid with no rain I have no idea! -- and over 100 the last few days and for the foreseeable future...... It is supposed to cool down to 97 but, that is only if it rains on Wednesday.....

Also, wondering how formal is formal night? Was planning on a little more shopping, but am finding that difficult...husband out with a bum knee...I can only pick up so many extra shifts between now and then, to pick up the slack. Maybe a consignment or a Nordstroms rack?

Lastly, (I think) any banks that do change counting and exchange without rolling? We probably have between 4-5 hundred in change, but don't really have the time to roll it.

I am wearing long formals on formal nights. Dh will be wearing a Tux. Our bank counts change for free if you include a deposit slip with the change. They deposit it in our checking account.

Hi everyone .. My turn to ask for some prayers. My sister had to take my Mom to Emerg early this morning ... Turns out she needs to have her Gall Bladder removed. They are keeping her in and hope to have it removed Wednesday or Thursday. She is on Coumadin (DVT history) and has to be weaned off it first. My younger brother has Down's Syndrome, so he will be coming up to stay with me while Mom is in the Hospital. Kirstyn is at home, so she will be able to stay with him while I am at work. I'll know more about her condition tonight when I go see her. Please keep her in your thoughts. Thanks.

No we aren't doing the tux/gown thing - we all hate dressing up. I'll be wearing either a nice skirt and top or nice trousers and top. Robert will be wearing nice pants and shirt and likewise my Mum.

Many people do not do "formal" and just wear a nice outfit so you won't be out of place if you don't wear a gown etc.

We weren't really wanting to drive ourselves from LAX to Hojo...... we want someone to drive us. It's me and the kids along on mon 11th and then DH on his own on the 15th. We're trying to find other transportation besides driving ourselves....

That is correct - when you book the car, they do not ask for any CC details so have no way to charge you for the reservation until you actually show up at the counter.

At ny rate - we spent all of the day within 150 yards of the hotel... there was a park and playground near by - plus a kids museum/activity center called the Zumeum I think... nice, modest in size but packed with hi-tech activities.

Did you see the bowling alley and ice skating rink a little father in the park? Also in the Metreon they have a projector - projecting on the floor with a game that the kids love to play. Hope you are enjoying SF.

I left for WM to pick up another piece of luggage so the kids can each have their own bag this time and checked the mail before we left and it was all I could do not to come back inside and post!!! Instead DD and I pulled off to the side of the road and opened the package and looked at them.

Just popping in to say hi all! I gave up trying to keep up with this thread so hopefully nothing important happened in the last 2,000,000 posts . We finally got our room assignment, so it's all beginning to feel a little more real now--no upgrade, but at least we're not going in steerage.

Did anyone find that any Palo reservations ever opened up? I've been checking periodically, but never found anything new. At least the excursions change around a little--if anyone was interested in the Outdoor Adventure in PV, that showed some new availability.

As many cruises as I have taken..we have never had any trouble...so I am going to ask others..what does this mean for us? Is it possible it's something that can be fixed in port? Or when it becomse something like this..do they have to cancel cruises? (I am not trying to start trouble - so no one panic..I am just asking because I honestly don't know)

I have to go exercise now... I just had a stress test at 130pm and it was rough..they told me I had to run for 50 more seconds and I was told by my trainer you can do anything for one minute.. so I continued... very winded of course!! B/p 200/160 during the height of the test.. easily recovered however.. pant pant pant....

Anyone using PVtours.net for their Dolphin excursion? Our son is too young for most of the Dolphin excursions thru the cruiseline. Trying to make other arrangements. Anyone using this company? It includes admission to the park. Wondering how much time to leave for getting off the ship, arriving to the park by taxi and finding where we need to be in order to participate. We dock at 0930, have avail at 1115 or 1500 (3 pm), anyone familiar with the company or the area have any input?

Cruise Question

Those of you with small children, what excursions do you plan to do at each of the ports?

Right now we just have plans in Cabo (Family Resort & Pool Escape), PV (Paradise Beach Adventure), and Aruba (Seaworld Exploroer). We have a 3.5yo and a 15mo. and options - through DCL - seem rather limited and I'm not sure I'm that comfortable with some of the choices after reading reviews from WBPC and MR cruisers.

Here's what we're doing (DD is 19mo):
Cabo - Chileno Bay Snorkeling Adventure (She'll be in the nursery)
Acapulco - Acapulco Highlights, Shopping and cliff divers (she'll be in the backpack/carrier)
Cartagena - Deluxe Cartagena & Fortress with Folklore (Backpack)
Aruba - Sailing & Snorkeling (Nursery)

The other locations we'll just put her in the backpack and do our own thing.

I was just thinking that we have a TON of birthdays starting now!

I was going to write them all down when we were discussing them a few threads ago, but I didn't.

I doubt that - they have to get her back to Florida and dry dock somehow. Might be delays or changes in schedule, but I can't imagine them cancelling.

I booked ours for 9am - they are pretty quick at getting you off the ship and the rental car places are fairly flexible with times usually.

One last post before I head home for the day. Laura said the ship is moving but they might get delayed in port tomorrow if they are working on it. She is not sure. Said men have been running around the ship all day working on it. I will post again if she has anything new to report tomorrow.

Rental Cars are usually not reserved with a Credit Card... So there is no concept of a late cancellation penalty.

I say you book one for midnight... and if you need it, you have it.

Does this code go in the AWD box, rate code or coupon code. It doesn't seem to accept it as a coupon.
