Laura is saying there are alot of aftershocks right now. No phone service where she is. She is shaking.....April is with her. They are on 2nd floor of dr. office. Said building is shaking.

I think it wasn't as bad as I first thought ...but took a long time...no pohone servce here for regular phone or cell even..computer works..thats all

Disneyland just announced they evactuated everyone from all of the rides

Glad you are ok...just talked to my Mom by your house..it really rumbled! Nothing broke here that I see...just fell

They just said a 5.8....it just took a long time..at least at my house..you could feel the rumbling and it keep building..I kept waiting...unfortunately..TMI moment here..I was in the shower...and trying to get out to a door way and yelling for DD to get to a door way....

Everything okay here tho...

We're ok...kids are scared. I tried to explain the idea of after-shocks so that they would be ready next time. And my DD says...there's going to be more? Then she started to whine.

Weird thing...my FIL just called from MN, said it's all over the news. I was a little surprised by that.

well that was a fun ride!
Haven't had a jolt like that for quite a while

lots of evacuations going on, on the news...but most are your typical required evacuations for safety reasons.
First time in a while I've sent kids to the bathroom doorway....we actually had a few german beer steins fall, so when I hear anything breaking, I know its bigger then the usual jolts. Also lost cel phone service for a while too.

They said that there has been more then a dozen aftershocks...

DH is on the 16th floor...says it really moved in Burbank.

Well, we just had a little jolt here in Southern California--a small earthquake. Kids are not happy, as this is the first they have been awake to experience.

Laura just text me...she is at Dr. office. .....ok but scared.

Looks like it wasn't too bad. DL is inspecting all the rides and intends to reopen quickly.

I couldn't get a call through to my brother in Burbank by cell phone, but the text went through. He said they sure felt it, but everyone is okay. Wish the same for everyone in S. CA.!

BTW Andrew if you're still here....any idea what time we will enter the miraflores lock at PC? I saw 8:20 on your navigator from 2005, but what time zone is that & do you think we might follow the same schedule? Just trying to give my family an idea of what time to check the cameras. Any ideas?

Well we will not know until the day, but I would guess it would be very similar to 2005, We started at 6.00am then and didn't finish to past 7pm, I was in Lumière's for dinner when we we going down the Gatan Locks.

As the schedule is very long and very tight, and DCL book's this well in advance, I would have thought there isn't much of an option to move anything forward or back. We hopfully will get to Gatan Earlier, now that the Magic has been through three times, they should have it off to a fine art.

Well, Desiree, this makes the entire scene very vivid for me -- you, naked, running through the house telling your daughter to get in a doorway . . . you really have the luck, don't you?

In an emergency, txt is the way to go, smaller packets push through the system when phone calls can't get through.

The phones being down may just be overload as opposed to damage.
